A-1 Duct Cleaning & Chimney Sweep

Had to get ducts cleaned and called this company based on reviews. I called several others but liked this one the most. Easy to setup an appointment and they were right on time.
Did there work and the tech was very friendly. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

My dryer was drying properly, called and got a next day appointment. Max arrived on time and begin working immediately. After the lint duct was cleaned he thoroughly explained what happened and why. He left the laundry room as clean as it was when he arrived. The price was very reasonable and we will be using this company again and recommending it to others. In fact, we will be using the company to clean the ducts in our home in a few weeks.

So far it has only been a few hours so things may change but a great experience. From the first cool. They were friendly and efficient. Max showed up on time and and did his thing. The air quality is so much better and the whole process was a good one. I even convinced my mom to do the same duct cleaning next month at her place.

I recently bought a house and needed the ducts and chimney to be cleaned after the construction. They were available quickly and did a fantastic job of getting all the dust out and making sure my chimney was good to go!

Phil is great, fast and friendly. Price was good. He never raised it. I would recommend A 1 for duct cleaning in the high desert. They’re cheaper than Sears that’s a plus.

My boss had me call this company out to his home last week to remove a beehive from the chimney and put a cap netting to prevent future problems. Dealing with this company was very easy from start to finish. The guy that met my boss at his home was very nice and helpful. I had the same experience when I met him at the complete of the job. While he had to buy parts and come back the next day to finish off due to a broken part, we would use them again.

Called and got an appointment for the very next morning. The staff was friendly and efficient and did a great job! Will definitely recommend and use them again.

A1 was my 3^rd and last attempt to get my vent unclogged. Two other duct cleaning companies had come out, tried and failed and charged me! Phil did it in 10 min. They were also very nice to work with and reasonably priced. Highly recommend.

Our dryer wasn’t drying like it normally did.
After an appliance technician told us that the dryer duct needed to be cleaned we called A1 since they had good reviews and someone recommended their service.
I guess they did what they were supposed to… sort of… they unclogged the dryer duct from all the lint that was blocking the ventilation. Great! The dryer was working again!
Next thing I noticed it was raining lint, my back patio was full of lint… I go out look up and noticed that they left all the lint that was removed on top of the roof.
Of course the wind was blowing making a mess everywhere.
We tried calling and left a voicemail… never heard back… so we went up on the roof to clean the mess.
I would say A1 will unclog but I don’t know about cleaning.
I always like to trust people and let them do their thing, that is why we call experts… but I learned that I should have a thorough walk through when a service is done.
Just disappointed when someone comes highly recommended.

I’ve recently moved which explains some of my recent un-​exciting reviews. It has been tremendously helpful to me that people have reviewed companies like A-​1 so that I can trust who I hire.
A-​1 did a great job on my air ducts. They were on time, their quote was exactly as listed on their website with NO up-​charges and they worked very cleanly. Very professional technician. No complaints! Hire this company if you want your vents done right, on time and on budget.

After an initial timing mishap, A1 came through and cleaned our ducts and dryer vent. They did a good job but left our crown molding cracked in many places and left a little bit of a mess on our carpets so we had to vacuum afterwards.

I wish there were SIX Stars! After reading the great Unilocal Reviews about A-​1, and knowing we needed the service on our dryer vent, I made the call to Tammy. The day after Christmas (I’m so sorry that I forgot to ask but I think it was Hugo) A-​1 called in advance, showed up right on time, and in only about 25 minutes figured out how to completely clean our vent, and the proof was in the amount of build up that Hugo got out. He was the most courteous and professional contractor we have ever had, and that’s a lot! He took the time to explain how it happens, how to control it, asked about how many loads we do every week and suggested we re-​clean in a year or so… but no pressure. Just great service at a great price. Thanks Philip for building such an honest and friendly business service. We are telling ALL our Neighbors.

I would definitely recommend Phillip at A-​1 to anyone needing dryer duct cleaning and especially if you have a vent exiting your roof.
I had a problem where excess lint was exiting my dryer and getting all over my home.
I had 2 other dryer vent cleaners come out to clean and 12 appliance repairmen and no one could figure out why.
I finally found Phillip and he climbed up onto the 2^nd floor roof to discover that the dryer vent was 100% clogged at the roofline with a 1 inch thick lint cake. So the lint was backing up into my dryer and overloading the seals and getting out into my home.
The first dryer vent cleaning company, Luna’s Chimney sweep, had cleaned the bathroom vent and not the dryer vent! So I learned that if you hire a chimney sweep to clean your dryer vent because you think they are able to get onto the roof– make sure they have lots of dryer vent cleaning experience else they may just clean your bathroom fan vent instead!
The second company cleaned the booster fan but does not go onto the roof to clean the vent from the outside.
Please make sure that if you have a roof exit for your dryer vent that you hire someone who has experience and the ability to climb on top of the roof to look and clean from the outside in. I did a lot of calling around and most dryer vent cleaning companies will clean the vent from inside your home and are not willing to go onto the roof. It makes a huge difference because some clogs cannot be removed unless you access the vent from on the roof. Learn from my hardship as my dryer was not working for 2 months!
Tammy, Phillips wife who works the front office was correct when she told me that Phillip is good at troubleshooting and can solve difficult cases.
I found both Phillip ad Tammy to provide great customer service and they were pleasant to work with. His fees are very fair and he is willing to go on the roof and also cleans booster fans which are 2 difficult services to find a contractor who does both.

I would definitely recommend A-​1 Duct Cleaning and Chimney Sweep. We used A-​1 recently to clean out our dryer vent. Hugo, the service technician from A-​1, was great. He was very nice, professional and courteous. He did a great job. Their prices are also very reasonable. We would use this company again.

Our dryer was not drying clothes properly so after a few calls we decided that our dryer vent needed to be cleaned — something we had never done before. I called one other company on Unilocal that had many five star ratings and promised to honor competitor prices. When I called this other company they were way more expensive than A-​1, I asked the young lady about honoring competitor prices and she went into reading from script mode where she described everything the company did when cleaning the filter to justify the higher price, so after much frustration I gathered that they actually do not honor competitor lower pricing. She also said I could get a Unilocal customer discount, but only if I wrote a five star review BEFORE service was done. This completely turned me off, so I finally settled on A-​1. The lady who answered the phone– Tammy I think– was so courteous, honest and straightforward. I told her that we needed air duct and vent cleaning, she said I would be in good hands with Hugo and was able to send him to our house the very next day. He too was also extremely courteous, hardworking, and professional. He spent well over a few hours at our house making sure everything was cleaned properly. I am very happy with both the service and pricing from A-​1; they are a company I trust and will receive my business going forward.

I bookmarked this business because they get my seal of approval. Excellent customer service from start to finish and high quality work. Tammy worked with me on scheduling and was extremely helpful. Hugo came out and did the work and that guy was stellar. I felt bad because I originally scheduled him to come out on a Saturday late afternoon but we were getting new carpet and the carpet guys ran a few hours late getting to my job so Hugo couldn’t get going. Most other contractors would probably get pretty upset about that and even charge a fee. But not Hugo. He told me not to sweat it, rescheduled me for a few days later, and didn’t even give me a hard time about it. Sure enough he came out a few days later, ahead of schedule, and did everything better than expected.

Had a great experience with these guys.
Called up and talked to Phil’s wife who had Phil call me back and it was within a half hour and I described the problem, potentially a dead animal in my bathroom exhaust vent, and Phil said he could take care of it but even told me how I could do it myself if I wanted to, that was quite a nice gesture. However, I had enough going on without having to deal with who knew what was rotting in there and so he quoted me a very reasonable price, $ 115 I think, and I said sounds great let’s do this.
So, I made an appointment for service to be done a few days later and his helper Hugo came by and proceeded to open the vent and take out what appeared to be a decomposed rodent of some sort and then cleaned off the vent items and foil taped obvious gaps in the vent housing and put the fixture back together. All of this with the aim that the taping in particular could prevent any recurrence.
It’s now a month later and I’ve had no return problem, fingers crossed ;-). And I hope for everybody’s sake it’s a one time problem.
By the way, I live in a condo and the HOA management company had advised me I’d have to take care of it myself and Phil said that his company could come in straight away and take care of it without dealing with the management company. I was especially glad A-​1 could do it as I’d first called Dewey Pest Control who came out and said because it was literally not in the unit itself, but beyond the wall line, there was nothing they could do about it and that the managment company would have to authorize a contractor to come in and open the vent. Thank goodness for A-​1.
And one other by the way, I knew there was a problem as I’d been hearing scratching noises off and on from the vent for a few weeks but I wasn’t quite sure if it might be from neighboring construction or just what and then it seemed to stop for about a week and then came the flies! Hundreds pouring out of the vent. It was disgusting. That’s when I found A-​1.

An honest contractor. whaaat? Yep — arrived on time for a chimney sweep (we didn’t know how much the prior owners of our house used the chimney so wanted things checked out before we used the fireplace). Upon arrival, they inspected it and declared that the chimney ducts were fine and did not need cleaning, saving us some $ (we only paid a nominal inspection fee). Had he said it was dirty, we wouldn’t have known any better and we would have proceeded with spending money on a cleaning.
Good to find honest people in this business, so I’m paying it forward with a five star review!
