This place is amazing. I’ve tried their cupcakes a few time and have never been disappointed. I’ve ordered two different cakes from them for special events, not only were they beautifully decorated they were also delicious! I would highly recommend this place. Whether you just want to swing by and grab a cupcake or order something either way it’s great

We love cupcakes here. We always come to this place at least twice or three times a month, never get disappointed.

This place rocks!
My wife and I live in Georgetown, and get out to dine on or near the square once or twice weekly. One of our favorite things to do after having breakfast at Monument Café (another fine establishment) is to take a stroll around downtown Gtown for twenty or thirty minutes, then stop at Galaxy for a treat. I will usually have a cup of their fresh and delicious coffee. My wife will have hot tea. We often share a cup cake. The two most difficult things to deal with there is choosing to share one cupcake and trying to decide which flavor. We have tried many by now and Galaxy never disappoints. They are all exceptional. The employees are friendly, and helpful. One time when we were there, a bee followed me in and we had to shoo it back out the door. The young fellow working there apologized as if it was his fault that a bee had followed us in! We laughed about it with him after assuring him that it is no big deal.
This place is one of the best. Whenever you’re in Georgetown, stop in here for a treat.

This is my absolute favorite place to pick up unique and delicious treats! We stop by often. I like to bring the cupcake sampler to dinner parties. There is a lot to choose from and we have tried a lot! Everything is exceptional. Creativity and skill make for a special dessert experience. And any chance we can support a local family owned business even better.

The sticky buns make you want to slap your mama. They are delish. So sticky and wet and wonderful and delicious and… well well just Devine. The person who helped me was very very sweet as well. The cupcakes I also bought were devoured by the kids so they must have been marvelous as well.

I went in to get cupcakes for my daughters bridal shower coming up. Her wedding is in two weeks. I spoke with the owner when I walked in and got very little response and interest about my order. He proceeded to be short and unprofessional with me, almost as if he didn’t «need» my business. Clearly I will not be buying from there anymore.

I just love this fun «galaxy» inspired bakery. The cupcakes are beautiful and tasty. The scones are to die for, and the charm is for real. A lovely stop in a charming town.

We recently moved to Georgetown and discovered this bakery while in the historic downtown area. What a treat! We were pleasantly surprised and pleased to see the wide selection and unique, crafted baked goods. We left with a box of baked goods and each and every one was delicious!

Ordered a couple of cupcakes for desert with the family and was very pleased. There was just the right amount of icing and the cupcakes were perfectly moist. Top it all off with super friendly staff that gave the girls stickers just because they asked and you have a great local place to visit for desert next time.

Great pastries — tried the Boston Crème and a chocolate chip cookie. Both were great. Nice people and definitely will be back!

–Tiny, tiny, tiny place
–The cake on their cupcakes tends to crumble under the weight of the icing
–Prices on cakes are $$$$$
I’ve been here at least 10 times with wife and kids and we will continue to come back simply based on the fact that Galaxy is the best bakery in the Georgetown area and they use quality ingredients.

Wonderful local place a bit small if you get more then a few people. My kids can’t wait to go back and get a cookie!

We’ve walked right by this place for years and finally stepped inside, sure glad we did. Devoured an oatmeal cookie slightly smaller than a ’57 Chevy hubcap… but much much tastier… not that i ever tried to eat one. They had a lot of amazing smelling and looking gedunk/​goodies, we’ll be back to try more. Their hot coffee was very good too.

These cupcakes are the things dreams are made of.
The kid behind the counter was super helpful and he seemed to be working as quickly as possible to get the line moving along.
Between my two friends and I, we had the Hostess and Oh La La cupcakes, a cannoli and a «brownie brick» (or at least that’s what we called it). Everything was seriously fabulous. The cupcakes were moist, the brownie was dense, and the cannoli was spot on.
It’s probably a good thing I don’t live nearby — I’d be here all the time! Do yourself a favor and get in here for some goodies.

It’s not that our cake was bad. It’s just that it was not the awesome cake we were hoping for. The folks at Galaxy Bakery are friendly and pleasant to do business with and are truly sorry when the customer isn’t happy.
Just be aware, we ordered a two-​layer strawberry shortcake and received a four-​layer strawberry shortcake. The cake layers had a weird taste (to me) like it was dry on the inside and soggy on the outside. The icing was great.
The cake did look pretty. I will try to post photos.
I’m 57 years old and I have had MANY strawberry shortcakes over the years. This one did not make the top 20. Please be aware that I have a high standard where these things are concerned.

Wonderful cupcakes! We got 4 different varieties, they were all great but the lemon was our favorite. You can’t go wrong!

Definitely hidden place at the square. Nice cupcake items to choose from. I didn’t get to taste them unfortunately because my son was acting up. So I had to sacrifice my tape worm’s needs for the discipline of my son. I am going to come back again to try this place out. But overall the staff was friendly and their cupcakes looked delicious!

They do not honor the Unilocal Checkin of buy 3 get 1 free. They said they did not authorize that deal.

Hubby had key lime I had chocolate peanut butter.
Apparently they have real liquor in a few of them!
We both got a couple coffees.
Workers were nice.
When we pulled up a little girl was in the back playing in the dirt with no shoes. She came in to store when we were waiting for coffees. She was bleeding on her foot. She preceded to jump up on counter to grab a cup to get ice water… I happen to be queen germ a phobe so as you can imagine, my skin was crawlin!
We just moved to Georgetown… maybe I need to get used to this kinda stuff?! No thanks I will pass…
If this type of stuff house on in front of customers, what kinda stuff goes on after hours while baking?! Yikes!

I was so excited to try this place. No one loves and appreciates cupcakes more than I do. In fact, to say anything against a cupcake is blasphemous.
Found Galaxy on Unilocal after some great reviews. Also, there was an awesome offer on Unilocal upon Check-​in: Buy three, get one free. Surprisingly, the new girl behind the counter had no idea such an offer existed and retrieved the manager, who also had no idea the offer existed, but happily honored it. He was very nice. He also offered me a frequent diner card and complimented my kiddos. Huge plus.
We selected two cookies n cream, one vanilla and one red velvet and were so excited to get these pretty ladies home. One bite in and that excitement fizzled. I really hate to say this but… I question their authenticity. They did not taste homemade to me. Their consistency was very comparable to a boxed cake mix; far too light and airy to pass my test. Half way in to eating the cupcake, the cake could hardly support the weight of the frosting and crumbled.
Another bad sign, let’s just say that Kiddo inherited the cupcake gene from me, and refused to finish the half of vanilla cupcake offered. When I tasted a bite, it was obvious
why; the flavor was insipid.
On the positive side, the cupcakes were decorated festively and were adorable. Also, as mentioned, the manager was so nice and accommodating. Unfortunately, there was just nothing special or positively memorable about Galaxy’s cupcakes.

Wow…this is how cupcakes should taste! Thick creamy frosting, moist cake, not too big… not too small. These are a great replacement for my formerly favorite, but sadly out of biz cupcake place. In fact, these might even be better. And they’re not too expensive. Check-​in on Unilocal for «a free cupcake when you buy three» offer. Woohoo.
They told me they rotate the flavors weekly. I tried vanilla, red velvet, and candy corn. They were all equally delicious. I hope to try their margarita cupcake in the near future and hopefully they have a coconut cupcake, too. The girl who was working there was new, so she didn’t know what was coming up next. But I look forward to trying some new flavors and repeating some, too.
