This class is WAY OVERPRICED for what it is and definitely not worth $ 1000! I attended the virtual online classes 5 Sundays in a row and based on my experience I feel I was ripped off.
First of all the classes are from his home office, sometimes his Internet connection was not good, the audio was faulty as well. Not to mention the background noise, which consisted of crying children, speeding traffic, car alarms, ambulance sirens, birds and so on.
Before I decided to take these classes I was really confident this program would help me achieve a passing score on the TEAS V exam. Dr Brian Adkins assured me I would get a passing score with his program and guaranteed his program was better than the ATI review manual.
Unfortunately my experience was not a good one, I found myself confused at times and unable to ask further questions due to timing and the fact that he would skip certain steps in most sections.
I think this program is best suitable for someone who has not been away from school that long… If you’ve been out of school for a while like I have, I don’t recommend it. I feel he expects you to know many of the steps he skips and if you’ve been out of school that long of course you forget…
Lastly I suggest online videos and the ATI review manual which personally helped me alot and I actually passed the test. Save yourself the money and invest in review manuals and many hours of dedication and hard studying.

Dr. Adkins is truly an expert regarding preparation for the TEAS test. His course prepares one for taking the test better than any study guides available. The material he uses is much harder than the study guides, which is critical for doing well on the TEAS. He explains how to approach each question and emphasizes strategies to use. I got one of the highest scores ever (96.7) and I know that I could never have done anywhere near that well without Dr. Adkins’ help. The truth is that the TEAS test is hard, and the information it covers is cumulative of all the prerequisite courses you should have taken. It is impossible to remember everything, so taking this course really helped me to focus on the specific material that is known to be on the test. You absolutely must study really hard if you want a high score, but Dr. Adkins helps to guide you so that you are studying the right things.

These review courses are excellent! Dr. Adkins helped me tremendously in preparation for the TEAS test. I enrolled in the Adkins Academy classes 1 month prior to my test date and attended all 5 Adkins review sessions. These review classes, along with my own studying, helped me get a 90.7% on the first attempt. When I first opened the ATI study manual I had no idea where to start. Dr. Adkins provided the guidance I needed. He is very knowledgable, has a great way of teaching the material well, and provides many useful time-​saving techniques and tips. He is always available for office hours if you need to call or text him with questions or clarification on topics. You can call him any time, as many times as you need, and he will never make you feel like a burden. He is super helpful and really wants students to succeed!
All of the sessions were excellent. The math review was really helpful since I hadn’t taken a math class in probably 10 years. He shows how to eliminate wrong answers, use logic to find answers to math problems, and ways to do the problems quickly to get the right answer. The science review is great since the TEAS science section is so broad. Dr. Adkins teaches everything you need to know to do well on this section. English and reading seem simple to most people, but there are questions on the TEAS that are not as ‘common sense’ as people think, they need reviewing, and Dr. Adkins teaches what is needed to do well on those sections also.
If you need to get a competitive score on the TEAS, take the Adkins review classes! I am glad I did!

First off, this class it too costly. $ 1000 is a hard pill to swallow for most who are in or returning to school. The class set up is all online which would be fine if the class could communicate with the instructor like normal without the screeching sound of feedback. The class is set up in what appears to be Dr Adkins home office. At times, you will hear a crying child, dog barking, or a smoke detector battery dying which is very disruptive. I was told to «get use to it, you’re going to have lots of disruptions when you become a nurse.» What Dr Adkins doesn’t know is that I have been a nurse for over 10 years and I know how to handle disruptions at work. However, in a learning environment where things can be controlled, my complaints fell on deaf ears.
His teaching method is concrete and you do learn. I believe it is best to take his class as soon as you have completed your pre-​reqs so the material is still fresh. His classes also tend to run late so beware.

There is always a lot of fear surrounding the stress of taking such a big exam. It feels like your future is held hostage to these little numbers on a piece of paper and the pressure can be insurmountable. With a 64% national average, we could all use the reprieve from stress that this prep course provides.
This prep course includes a number of problems that are not in many of the TEAS prep books but ARE on the actual exam. Dr. Adkins really knows how the TEAS exam works and what it takes to do well — he’ll take you through a wide array of problems that will help you understand how to answer any questions you run into.
Dr. Adkins did everything in his power to ensure that I would do well on this exam and that I would receive a score I could be proud of. Despite having a number of students to help, he always found the time for any questions I may have had in and out of class. He was patient, thorough, and never made me feel like a burden when I needed extra help.
This course is exactly what you need if you want to excel on your TEAS exam and get into your nursing program. It will challenge you and you’ll have to work for it — but I promise you, it will be worth it.

I was so nervous about taking the TEAS V exam, especially after hearing that so many of my peers didn’t do well, or even failed on their first attempt. I’m applying to SDSU nursing and they require an 80% on the TEAS V and you only have 2 attempts to make that score. With that pressure in mind, I decided to try and look up a TEAS V prep course. While searching multiple sites, I came across The Adkins Academy. On their site they guarantee a great score on the exam and ensure an extensive review. I was a little skeptical at first, but after requesting more information, Dr. Adkins called me personally. He explained in great detail what the course entailed and wasn’t tying to aim straight for my pocketbook. He answered all of my questions and concerns and after a long conversation I decided to sign up for the program. Each one of the sessions are loaded with great information that truly prepares you for this exam. I took my test about two weeks after the course ended and scored in the 98th percentile nationally. I couldn’t have asked for a better score and I was so grateful to have found this prep course. I highly recommend this course for anyone who is preparing to take this exam, you will feel at ease and Dr. Adkins will help you reach your goal.

I can not thank The Adkins Academy enough for preparing me to take the TEAS V test for nursing. Without the preparation Brian gave me, I would not have been able to score 95% nationally on the test. He takes you through all parts of the test. If you have questions, he is always there to quickly answer 24 hours a day by email, telephone or text. You pay for what you get. If you want the edge, against the competition, so you can get into nursing school, get prepared with The Adkins Academy. You will not regret it.

The Adkins Academy is an amazing program designed to teach individuals an easier technique to studying and learning new concepts… Yes! I admit I was skeptical when I first signed up as a nursing student just wanting to get a higher score on my TEAS exam, if this would really work, especially since it was online… After working with Brian Adkins, I was amazed on how much I learned and how high my test scores were. I ranked in the top ten of my school after I was prepped and coached by Brian himself. Let’s not ask what I ranked before taking this class, because it is too embarrassing to even share… LOL…As for this being said, it’s because of Brain Adkins and the program that he designed that I will gladly and proudly be starting school this March!!!
