History

Established in 2009.

Larry Blackman has served the auto repair industry for 40 yrs. In his career he has managed some of the most prestigious, million dollar shops in the industry. His dream was to own his own shop and give back to the industry what it has given him. He opened LDJ Auto Body & Mechanical in Gibsonton, FL in 2009. This small shop produces high quality work at prices that everyone can afford. Larry believes that high quality work doesn’t have to cost a fortune and the small shop he owns has very low overhead and he passes that savings along to his customers. High quality work does not have to be expensive, it just has to be done properly. He has helped many people that would not have been able to afford the work they needed by working with them and their budget. His motto: We don’t offer low priced work, we offer high quality services that people can afford. It’s just that simple. His loyal customers will tell you, they won’t go anywhere else for their repair work.

Larry Blackman has been in the auto body repair industry for over 40 years. At 13 years old, he worked as a floor sweeper just to be near the shop he enjoyed so much. During his breaks and free time, the owner would teach him and show him new and different skills. He got his first job as a bodyman at that same shop at the age of 16. The owner saw his passion for the trade and sent him to school to get his certifications. Today, Larry Blackman’s custom work can be seen on winning cars nationwide with over 10 «best in paint» winners at «World of Wheels». His work has been used in everything from advertising to album covers. Larry has never forgotten the break his first boss gave him and offers the same opportunity to area kids that want to learn the trade. His motto being «you can do anything you want if you give it your all».
