Gig harbor named one of the Best Five Small Towns of America by the Smithsonian Magazine, is located on the Olympic Peninsula just a couple miles over the Tacoma Narrows Bridge. The Best Western PLUS Wesley Inn & Suites is conveniently located 13 miles from downtown Tacoma, 23 miles from Bremerton, 34 miles from the Seattle/​Tacoma International airport, 44 miles from downtown Seattle, and within walking distance to the tranquil waterfront town of Gig Harbor.

History

Established in 1997.

The Best Western PLUS Wesley Inn & Suites was built in 1997. Our property was originally built with 51 sleeping rooms including the Brookeside ballroom and had the name of Best Western Wesley Inn. It was in the owner’s original plan to add on to the property if there was a need. In 2006, twenty nine more sleeping rooms and suites along with close to 2500 square feet of additional meeting space were added. With the addition and upgrade of hotel as well as the upgrade of sleeping room amenities the property gained the Best Western PLUS status and added Suites to the brand, making the property what is today The Best Western PLUS Wesley Inn & Suites.

Although the property is independently owned and operated, The Wesley Inn & Suites originated as a member of the Best Western franchise. This is our home away from home! We have now stayed here many times and EVERY time has been just great!!! I can’t say enough about how wonderful they are here! The staff is so friendly and helpful including Parker, the owners’ dog! The breakfast always offers many choices, including hot & delicious choices! The rooms and hotel are VERY clean and welcoming. They truly deserve ALL 5 stars!!! You will not be disappointed!

The Best Western Wesley Inn is a great place to stay if you find yourself in the Gig Harbor area. The rooms are clean and the amenities are great, but the amazing service from the staff prompted this review. I’m staying in town on a business trip, and it just so happens to be my birthday. They upgraded me to a nice room, made a reservation at a restaurant for my party and I AND I found this when I got to my room from work: a bow-​wrapped coffee mug full of goodies! Thanks, guys, you made my day!

Great breakfast in the morning! Rooms are comfortable and renovated. Lots of dogs come in and out, so allergic people take note! Also, they charge $ 20+tax per pack and play (instead of cribs), so they’d prefer children to sleep on the hotel floors, and instead of blackout curtains they have wooden blinds. We were blind sided by the pack and play charges (twin toddlers), because I had called and reserved them and there was no mention of a charge. First hotel of 5 that has ever charged us to accommodate our children. But staff is friendly, parking and location is great.

I come up to Gig Harbor about once a year and this is the place I prefer to stay. The rooms are updated & clean, the staff is super friendly (I always look forward to seeing them!), and fresh coffee is served all day :). Perfect location to downtown. Lots of breakfast options too!

Do not stay here! My stay was a nightmare. I checked in with my toddler in the afternoon, and set our bags in the room before heading out to the zoo and dinner. We got back to the hotel right around his bedtime, and I hurried to make him a bottle and get him in bed. I pulled down the covers and lay down with him in the bed, and right away noticed an odor. The odor kept getting stronger, and after a few seconds I felt something wet on my leg. I jumped up and pulled back the sheet and saw that the mattress was covered in urine. The cleaning crew had just put clean sheets on top of a wet mattress and made the bed over it.
I went to the front desk, and the clerk was super apologetic and offered to upgrade me to a suite. Because I needed to get my little one down, I took the room closest to my original room. I had to take a shower with my son once in the room, and then try to get him to sleep after all the excitement.
When I checked out the next morning, the clerk was unapologetic and let me know that she would have to check the room herself. I offered to show her a picture of the mattress, and she told me she didn’t want to see it. She gave me a business card with the owners name and let me know that I would be hearing from either the owner or the manager. It’s been two weeks and I haven’t heard from either.
I called
to complain, and they graciously offered me half of my money back, even though they called the hotel and they were not willing to help out at all.
It was an awful experience all around, and I hope that it doesn’t happen to anyone else!

The staff is by far the friendliest, most accommodating staff I’ve encountered. I travel often and have never witnessed such a quiet, relaxing and laid back hotel. The atmosphere is consistent each time I stay. I highly recommend this hotel over the others I’ve stayed at in the area.

This is a really nice place in a great area. Great friendly staff. However I have a few issues that brought my review down to just two stars.
1. Paid over two hundred for a spa suite that was not fully cleaned when we checked in. There were still used cups and soda bottles laying around and used soap was left in the shower and jacuzzi. In their defense when we did bring this to their attention they did offer to move us to a new room. But since we were already unpack and with a two year old it really was not worth the hassle.
3. As with most hotels the air was pretty dry so most hotels have lotion in the rooms. But not this place, so I was kind of bummed.
2. Now my biggest problem with the place is the walls are paper thin. I can clearly hear the people next door who must also have the same room since I have heard them run their jacuzzi and also pretty much everything they have been talking about and other things that I will leave unsaid. Kind of sucks that they were up all night …

I had a fabulous time doing a wedding here their Brookeside Ballroom is great comfortable seated all 160 guests with dance floor. Sales team and all staff I worked with were helpful. Bed was soooo comfy loved our room! Breakfast was above and beyond what we had expected. Can’t wait to do another wedding here!

They are almost finished with their renovation. I found it to be a wonderful place to stay, the rooms were very comfortable and clean. The breakfast in the morning was delicious and the staff was helpful. We had a women’s retreat of 90 ladies, it was the perfect venue. I really enjoyed my stay.

Hands down the best check in experience we have ever had at a hotel! Sue was there to take care of everything and went above and beyond to make us feel special. When we mentioned We were in town for a gig the ladies looked up or show and called us rock stars… even made my fiancé blush! Sue also called us in our room to check on us once we were settled in. Very attentive. The continental breakfast had a lot of variety and was delicious !

We really enjoyed staying at the Best Western, Gig Harbor. I’d like to give them 5 stars but there not quite there yet, but getting very, very close. It is a 2 story hotel with interior corridors. No elevator, but as of the time of this review they are currently putting one in. First floor rooms are pet friendly, no size restrictions on dogs. second floor rooms are the honey moon suite with in room hot tub, fire place and balcony. Pool is outside and was closed for the season so I can’t comment on that. When we were there the hotel only had a few other guests so it was VERY quiet, I can’t say what it is like when it full though.

Microwave and refrigerator in the room appear to be very old, but are functional and clean.
Room rate seemed a little high to me, but then again it was in line with the other hotels in Gig Harbor.
I always try to come up with some pros and cons when I write hotel reviews, and I have to say that I had to look pretty hard to find the cons.
Cons:
Windows under blinds had a lot of dust build up, but that is the old bad thing I can say about housekeeping.
There is enough room in the room for a sofa or couch but there isn’t one.
room was very stark décor wise.
Overall we would definitely return if we are ever in the area again. The addition of the elevator will be great for those of us that have a hard time on stairs. The hotel was clean and comfortable. Every staff member I interacted with friendly and helpful which is a huge plus.

Quaint Hotel.
This is my 2nd time staying here with lacklustre housekeeping standards (1st visit mouldy coffee filter in coffee maker & 2nd visit, clothes left behind from previous guest in the bathroom)
When checking in the clerk wearing a gym jacket, no uniform no name tag and eating her dinner beside the computer… tisk tisk.
The lack of simple standards is not encouraging to return.

First of all I’d like to point out that «Paula S.» is full of it. We stayed here for a week in August while home searching and another 10 days at the beginning of September while waiting to move in our house. Yes, the hot tub was out for 4 days, but things break, what can you say? As for the wi-​fi, I used it everyday I was there, you just call the front desk for a password :).
On with my review. We just endured a very long and stressful 2500 mile move. Wesley Inn became our home away from home. I have stayed in 5 star hotels (and less!) all over the world and though this is no Grand Wailea Maui or Four Seasons, the service was just as good. This is Gig Harbor, a quaint water town and this hotel fits in very nicely. My family misses the breakfast. Egg potato scrambles with bell peppers and sausage, French toast casserole, fresh baked muffins… I was beyond impressed with the attention to detail here. What other hotel bakes fresh cookies in the evening for the lobby? They had everything from maxi pads to shelves of children’s books to a guitar for guests to play. Rooms were large, beds were super comfy and we enjoyed a swim everyday. I could go on. This hotel gave me a little bit of peace during an extremely tough time in my family’s life.

I am a thorough fan of this place because it does everything right.
The hotel building is modest and gives the feel of a grand summer beach residence. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and there is ample parking.
The room for my stay was very spacious, pleasant and well appointed without being ostentatious. The bathroom is rather plain, but it provided everything I needed, including a strong hot shower in the morning. The beds are comfortable and the TV is modern, with good reception, as is the WiFi connection.
The entrance foyer is spacious and welcoming, designed for people to mingle (or not, if they so desire). A guitar is waiting on a stand, board games are there too, good books are found on the shelves, as well as a computer station. Breakfast is served there in the morning, featuring tasty food and good, hot coffee.
This is a place where one comes to recover their strength, read a good book and enjoy a good summer week-​end in charming surroundings.

Would not return. Website makes this place look so much better than it is. Front desk staff so unhelpful. If «inn» is in the name I expect hospitality. We got in later than expected around 8pm and we starving. We asked for dinner recommendations and were given a dominoes menu. Would have been nice to know about all the great close by restaurants we discovered on our own the next day. Not even dining recommendations in the room binder. The wifi and hot tub were down our entire 3 day stay. Hot breakfast was lukewarm and of low quality. Run down and not clean feeling. We paid too much at $ 199 a night.

Don’t walk, run to The Inn at Gig Harbor
Sheets were dirty (yuck). Internet as dial up speed. TV reception poor. Furniture and room need to be updated from the 80’s. people up at all hours partying. And all this for $ 179.00 a night.

I had the opportunity to stay at the Wesley Inn for a wedding last week. What a homey and wonderful place.
The outside had a kind of cottage-​esque appearance with lovely landscaping in addition to the forested settings of Gig Harbor paired with harbor itself.
Our room was huge, with tons of stretch-​out room for my husband and myself. A large window allowed for lots of natural light, and the beds were really comfortable for sleeping.
The best thing about the Wesley Inn would be the warm and welcoming front lobby area with a warm fireplace and a sweet dog by the name of Parker to greet guests! If I had known such a cute little dog acts as a guest ambassador here, I would have originally planned to stay longer at this hotel.
I can’t wait to visit the Wesley Inn the next time I visit Washington!
