Johnny grew up loving cars and racing. In High School, he decided to make a living out of his love for cars. He has been fixing cars and racing ever since.

Johnny’s Custom Auto Body was created after I graduated from Gilroy High School in 1989… before I even had my own shop. Throughout our 23 years of doing business in the Gilroy, CA community, we’re always striving to provide the very best customer service and highest quality auto body repairs possible. Rest assured your personal best interest is always at the forefront of any vehicle repair done at Johnny’s Custom Auto Body. I have had several unlucky needs for the services of a body shop in recent months. Fortunately I was referred to Johnny at Johnny’s Custom Auto Body the first time and it has been relatively painless ever since. Johnny is one of the biggest perfectionists I have ever met. I would assume he would be hard to work for because he makes sure everything, and I mean, everything is done correctly and to MY satisfaction. I don’t know, for fact, he is this way with all his customers but he has been this way every time to me. I would confidently refer Johnny’s to anyone who asks.

I previously was looking into buying a car that had a salvage title. I was hesitant, because I always heard of stories where cars were never fixed properly. So, i Unilocaled auto body repair shops in gilroy and found Johnny. I had Johnny himself check my potential car and he did an extensive check. He found tons of problems within minutes and even sent pictures to my phone. He prevented me from buying the car and saved me a ton of money and years of headaches! And best of all, it was free of charge. I highly recommend Johny. He has great knowledge of cars and is very considerate and professional. Thank you!

I recently bought a used 2001 Corvette Z06 and brought it to Johnny to take care of a few chips and give it a good detail. Once they were done the car was immaculate! I highly recommend this shop… great customer service and expert advice!

My wife’s brand new car was rear ended in Los Gatos. Luckily, a friend of mine had referred me to Johnny and his office arranged everything: Rental car, insurance payment, etc. All I had to do was show up and drive off in a rental. Within days my wife’s car looked brand new again and it was cleaner than when I brought it in (washed).
Johnny did such a great job we have since brought in another car to fix a bad repair/​paint job from another body shop. We would not think of going anywhere else. None of our cars were custom, but we did see some classic cars at Johnny’s shop and they looked perfect!!!

Johnny did a great job repairing by new Mazda after a hit and run left it damaged on the street. His quote was on point, his office staff friendly, and I got my car back two days before I expected it! You cant even tell it was ever in a wreck and he even detailed the whole car for me! Great Job !

We had a fender bender in a parking lot about a month ago. Dented in our little Toyota Tacoma truck. We have AAA insurance, so a fiend recommended Johnnies. We took it there and the truck got admitted to the shop right away. The truck now 8 years old, had been scratched up in several places on the back of the cab. When we got it back the everything was perfect, the paint was matched perfectly and the dent were gone. Beautiful job. Thank you Johnnie.

I recently had my car painted by Johnny’s Custom Auto Body. But there is more to the story than that. Prior to choosing Johnny’s, I did my homework. I wanted a quality paint job at a fair price. I was surprised at the quotes I got after taking my car to several companies in Gilroy that did this kind of work. I got outrageous «quotes» and a couple of «to good to be true» quotes. I also requested «recommendations» from people I trusted in the auto repair business and the one name that kept popping up was Johnny’s Custom Auto Body. So I went there for an inspection and estimate. The quote I got made sense and was definitely affordable. So I choose them to paint my car. I was not disappointed by my choice. Why? Because I received over the top excellent customer service from the owner, staff and the mechanics that worked there. The job they did on my car was outstanding and timely. They also had me come back in a couple of weeks to have my car professionally polished by them — free of charge! Obviously I am a very satisfied customer and recommend this company highly.

Johnny’s shop is fast and their workmanship is excellent. The staff and is very friendly. We’ve known Johnny for over 15 years and have gone to him for all bodywork on all our cars. When anyone in our family has got into an accident we tell AAA we want Johnny to repair it. He guarantees all his work for life. He’s repainted/​refinished our truck and our Mercedes making them look better than when we bought it.
He recently did the repair of my 2012 Toyota Camary Hybrid brand-​new car, not even the first oil-​change yet. I was rear-​ended at about 30mph with the back end completely bent out of shape, undriveable, almost $ 11k in damages. I called up the shop at 5:30pm and told Johnny about the accident he stayed open for me until i got there around 6:30pm (1.5 hours after he closes) so I could drop off my car. He did the work in 2.5 weeks and made it brand-​new again. The shine is better then before and he also fixed the minor dings all around the car.
I highly recommend this body shop.
