The Cheese Steak sub at Leonardo’s is quite good and we have been ordering it for years, most often for take-out. The sub includes thinly sliced meat, provolone cheese, mayonnaise, onion, lettuce and tomato on a sub roll. The sub is placed on the conveyor oven rack. It comes out hot with lightly toasted bread. If you like your bread more toasted, just ask for it extra-toasty, and they send the sub through twice. If you prefer, you can add extra meat(which we do), extra cheese, as well as peppers, Italian dressing and other condiments for an additional charge. This is our favorite steak sub in the Henrico area. Instead of fake yellow cheese(Cheez Whiz), the sub is served with real provolone cheese. Also, the size of the sub is a good size and the bun is flavorful as well. I am not sure of the size, but I think it is about 8″. Sometimes we will order steak fries, which we prefer over the curly fries. The steak fries have a better potato flavor. Eat while hot though, as they don’t reheat well after sitting long. The pizza served at Leonardo’s is pretty good. We used to get the«Classic Deluxe», but we now prefer a pizza served elsewhere(Capriccios). If you choose a Steak Sub for take-out, you can call ahead and it is usually ready in 10 – 15 minutes. You can also have it delivered if you live nearby(there may be a minimum delivery order charge). Or you can choose to eat in the restaurant. We prefer double meat on our sub because, at times, the amount of meat on the sub has not been consistent.

As far as the quality of the taste, one of the best pizzas I have had in the Richmond area. But the large pizza is the size of a medium, so you don’t get the best buy for your money. If you want a large pizza, buy an Xtra large. Slices are half the size of a regular slice.

I’ve been coming to Leonardo’s Pizza & Pasta for several years now. I have to be up front and say that I have only ordered one main dish off the menu, their Steak Sub and steak fries. I absolutely love their Steak Sub! I’ve tried other places, but they never seem to taste as good as Leonardo’s. The sub is a huge portion, I usually can’t finish the whole thing. And the steak fries are just the same. If dining with someone, you could definitely split the fries! The staff on the carryout side is always friendly and my food is always hot and ready. The pricing is also affordable. I hear they also have great pizza, so I will have to make an exception one day and get one! Also, when you pick up your order, they have a display that has soda and slices of various desserts. Their Triple Chocolate Fudge Cake is amazing. They have Carrot Cake, Tiramisu, and other delicious looking options. Love this place and highly recommend it!

It’s sad I write this as my family and I have been ordering here as long as I can remember, but the lack of customer service and racial comments made by the night manager was so appalling I and my family will no longer order from here. I ordered take out and had NUMEROUS Issues with my order. The manager was accusatory and blamed me for the issues. He walked away when I was speaking to me and even went as far as to waive his hand to wave me off. When asked who is supervisor was to speak to or how I can contact him staff refused to give me the information.

Tonight was my first time eating your pizza and I am more than disappointed. The pizza tasted awful!!! It was flavorless and the slices were tiny. I can tell that the pizza was just thrown together and not made with any care. I will never order from here again!

I’ve been eating Leonardo’s since I was in middle school. My family and my fiancé agree — By far the best pizza around — we always get the super Deluxe thin crust. Great to dine in or for delivery — qualify ingredients and tasty. Wings are good too!

We live really close by and wanted to try this place mostly because of the high ratings. We had a half and half pepperoni and chicken pesto pizza. The pizza was so greasy and soggy. The chicken wasn’t even cooked properly. One of the worst crust, I have ever had. The restaurant was full of people which surprised me. I guess, you get what you pay for.

I wrote a previous review several months ago about how great the service and food is and Leonardo’s never disappoints. I done alone several times per month and have found that some servers treat single diners different than a large table. Never the case when I come here! Jaymee was particularly helpful and made sure my soda was full and checked on me frequently. Tried the gyro salad which was delicious! Thanks for always providing great food & customer service!

Delicious. Had the Margherita personal pizza.(Better then Zios back home in Omaha! That’s saying a lot) Ended up taking a slice home. Sat at the bar as it was just me, service was awesome! She not only was attentive to me but also to the other patrons. If I’m ever in the area again I’ll gladly come back!

I was 16 when Leonardo’s opened and visited regularly with friends for their Davinci. It’s a fabulous rolled pizza. Some would say it is like a calzone but it is sooo much better than that. For $ 6 it comes with three toppings and plenty of sauce and cheese. I have since moved away and every time I am back in town, Leonardo’s is always on my agenda. Their Davinci is still as good as it was when they opened 28 years ago and the years in business says it all. Keep up the good work!

Sorry for the late review… We were in town overnight and ordered food from here. It was some of the best delivered food I have had in a while. We ordered 3 different pasta meals as well as wings and curly fries. Our delivery guy was the best. He brought the food to our hotel room. He explained what was in each bag. He also brought paper plates and utensils. He was superb! I will go out of my way to order from here again

Had their delivery pizza last night. Asked for crispy, got one that was soggy and smushed in the box. Wife said Pappa John’s was better. Also had a crappy meatball sub which was mostly crummy Vienna bread with very little meat. Not worth my 33 bucks. Will never get my business again and I will warn others — well, guess I just did that!

We found this restaurant on Unilocal and I was so ecstatic because it’s hard to come by a pizza place in the westend(not including papa johns, Pizza Hut, etc.). I went to Leonardo’s on Monday around 5pm. There was no one there except for us, but business started to pick up around 6pm. The restaurant was very clean. The staff provided great customer service. I ordered a personal pepperoni. It was really good! The only downfall I didn’t like is that the pizza cost $ 6 and it didn’t make me feel full at all. But overall it’s a nice restaurant to try out, especially if you live in the westend and craving for some pizza!!!

Finally found a pizza nearby that I will put at the top of my weekly game day list! Leonardo’s Deep Dish! In the past I have never been much of a deep dish orderer… but since this deep dish(pepperoni and beef) was recommended by all 4 of the waitress that were nearby as I ordered I said yes let’s go for it! I picked the toppings, they picked the deep dish style over thin crust and classic hand tossed. It’s an additional 3.50 for Deep Dish but well worth it! The restaurant is in a great location in the Parkside Marketplace on West Broad. The interior of the place is that it feels new to me. Possibly been here for years and had a recent remodel, I don’t know but it was nice and comfortable. The staff may be the most friendly I’ve experienced. Samo was my waitress tonight and she was awesome. There is a flat screen in the bar area if you need to keep up with the scores or news while having a drink. The Restrooms were clean and tidy. Leonardo“s is much more than Pizza… their menu is deep with Pasta Specialities and Salads. Specials on Monday(Pizza) and Tuesday(Pasta) nights! I am going to be a regular here.

We were in town for a soccer tourney and they accommodated our whole group– about 40. We preordered all of our entrée’s. Amy and Sammo were amazing– best customer service. I’d compare their hospitality and efficiency to any 5 star restaurant. All the orders were right, were served very promptly and were hot and absolutely delicious. I enjoyed the lasagne and baked ziti and both were piping hot and made of the best, fresh ingredients. You could just taste the freshness and homemade sauce and love that went into each dish. The prices were very reasonable and portions very generous. I would highly recommend Leonardo’s– a great mom and pop place to get great food and support your local businesses!

Great pizza on the west end of Richmond seems to be a bit hard to come by. So when I come across a pizza place that I think is at least decent, I’ll consider that a win in my book. Leonardo’s won’t be winning any awards in my opinion, but I do see myself visiting again in the future. –Food: We ordered our usual half cheese, half pepperoni pizza. The pizza itself is quite saucy and cheesy. To be honest, when it first arrived, it wasn’t exactly the most appetizing due to the amount of activity going on top. However, upon first bite, the cheese and the sauce were actually really tasty! My fiancée and I both agree that our next pizza from here will be requested to have Light Sauce though, so if you’re not a huge sauce fan, keep that in mind. The actual taste of the sauce is worth discussing too. I almost feel that it resembles a marinara, or at least a nicely spiced tomato Italian sauce. Good stuff. The crust is actually interesting as it doesn’t really fall in the thin-and-crispy or the buttery-deep-dish category, yet isn’t soggy or gross like the pizza I’ve experienced outside of those categories. The crust remains firm yet bready and while I’m normally a fan of crispy crust, Leonardo’s crust works well. As another reviewer states, it is «doughy», but in a good way. –Cost: We didn’t realize that Mondays had Large Pizza deals, so we were pleasantly surprised when we saw our bill. A large is normally about $ 12 + topping charges, but because we went on a Monday, our whole bill just broke $ 10. Definitely worth the price. –Atmosphere: We dined in as we’re currently living out of a hotel, and who wants to eat in their hotel room? Not us. The interior dining area is nicely laid out with booths and tables and has a friendly feel to it. In addition, they had 90’s American Rock playing. I don’t really understand the choice of genre, but whatever, no complaints. –Service: Waitress was friendly and checked on us often. No complaints here either. –Overall: Despite the pizza being a bit saucy, it was pretty good! I feel it’s easier to request Light Sauce than to request them change a larger component, so if that’s the only gripe I had with their pizza, I’ll be ordering again. I have read good reviews about their subs and other food too, so I’ll probably check out some other things as well! I feel like overall I’d give Leonardo’s a 3.5, but because it’s relatively inexpensive and is all in all a tasty pizza, I’ll round up. I know I’ll be stopping by here again in the future.

First time here, tried a pepperoni pizza. I walked in thinking it had a normal take out area, but this place is clearly more of a regular eat in restaurant than a take out place. You can order take out though. So, I sat at the bar and waited while they cooked my pizza. Once I got home, the pizza was piping hot, doughy and delicious. I would definitly order it again. :)
