The customer service here is superb. There were many times where I scheduled and re — scheduled and the staff went above and beyond to work around my schedule, I got new brakes and rotors and hardware on the front and rear for a good price. Car runs exceptionally great and haven’t experienced any issues. 5 stars easily. Will be returning.

My 25 year old Toyota’s exhaust was sounding a little too loud to be normal. So took it to CarX in Glen Ellyn in my neighborhood to see how much money down the drain on a car at just about life’s end. The manager put it on a lift and diagnosed it as either needing tightening of the front exhaust pipe to the manifold or a new gasket at that connection. Asked me to leave it there so the engine could cool down to look at it more closely later.
Came back in a couple hours and was given the keys with no charge. It just needed a screw tightened attaching the pipe to the manifold that had loosened or never was screwed in properly. Car’s exhaust is now extremely quiet as originally. Kudos to CarX Glen Ellyn for not looking for ways to charge and for the very nice manager in finding the solution with no charge.
I’m coming back for all my service needs, as this shop has completely gained my trust.

Always honest and agteat price for weekday oil changes. I never get up sold when I go there for one fix. I get the thing fixed and thats that. I like the new manager, he friendly and fun.

I really like Car-​X, particularly the location in Naperville. In fact, I’m so loyal to the Naperville Car-​X that my recent Wednesday evening went something like this:
1. Spend hours getting trained for my new job that starts in like three days that I’m totally not prepared for and trying not to pull all of my hair out.
2. Finally get outta there and decide I want to get some frikkin pizza at Fire + Wine.
3. Promptly get a flat tire.
4. Call AAA, wait for a burly dude to come put on my donut.
5. Thank the burly dude for doing a stellar job putting said donut on my car.
6. Debate driving all the way from Glen Ellyn to Naperville to go to Car-​X, and decide after some time to instead drive for 5 minutes up the road to the one in Glen Ellyn. (I mean, driving on a donut sucks.)
I’m really glad I did. My flat couldn’t have come at a worse time, it was 5:45 before the donut got put on, so I had my mom call Car-​X in advance to see if it was OK that we could still come in (they close at 6). The guy said he’d wait up for us, and thankfully we were there pretty promptly.
Firstly, my mom would like me to point out that this location of Car-​X has the cleanest restroom in any car place that she has ever seen in her entire life.
Secondly, I’d like to point out that the guy working here (and I don’t know his name because I’m not on a first name basis with these guys yet, only the ones in Naperville, because my old 1993 Camry used to break down all the stinking time) took the time to check out my flat tire and let me know how it was damaged and why it couldn’t just be plugged. He then took me through the different options for new rear tires, gave me quotes, let me decide, and got started once I made my decision.
Then I got a little shocker. I went to pay after the tires were changed (which, by the way, took almost no time whatsoever, I didn’t even get to finish flipping through this awful gossip rag I was perusing) and saw a price that was almost $ 70 cheaper than I thought I was supposed to pay. I figured they put on the cheaper tires (which, seriously, who does that when winter’s coming? don’t skimp out on tires people, traction is your friend) so I asked «um, did you put on the right tires?» Turns out they did put on the tires I wanted, and I just got some sort of sorry-​your-​day-​sucks-​so-​bad discount. I’m not gonna complain there!
So, moral of the story, I’ll keep my day-​to-​day service at the Naperville locale (it being closer to where I live and all), but now that I’ll be working in Glen Ellyn, it’s good to know I’ve got another option if sh*t hits the fan on my commute. And if you happen to live up in that area, definitely keep this place in mind. Great service, great prices.

This place deserves –10 stars. Every single time I’ve gone here they’ve screwed me over, lied to me, cheated me out of something, miscommunicated important information and just, in general, haven’t given a sh! t about being respectful to their customers. I really don’t know why I’ve even gone back there more than the first two times they screwed me over. This is the final straw. The employees here half-​ass everything they do. After one final voicemail while I was at work that I’d better get there FIVE MINUTES BEFORE THEY CLOSE OR THEY’RE GOING TO LOCK UP MY CAR FOR THE NIGHT (even though it was my husband who dropped it off and specifically gave them HIS number to call when it was ready), I’m really through with this place. The unprofessionalism is just jaw-​dropping. It makes me sick that this place is still even in business. Avoid it like the plague. Just go to the Firestone down the road. It’s a little more expensive but they actually care about what they do for the most part.

I had a flat tire on my way to work. Fortunately it occurred just yards away from a car-​x! These guys were incredible, especially the manager, Andy. At first, when it seemed like the car would take longer than I could wait for, (I was already late to work) and I couldn’t leave work to come get my car when the shop closed, Andy offered to drive my car keys to work for me. That goes above and beyond customer service! Then, turned out they could change my tire right away. I was in and out within 20 minutes. So courteous and nice, really went the extra mile for a gal who has bad luck and was in a rough spot. Thanks!

I called this location and asked how much it would cost to get new brakes installed. After getting a price that seemed too good to be true, I drove over and handed my keys over for them to look at my car. While waiting I asked the same guy if that price was correct and he smirks and says «yea that’s the price for brake pads… I can sell just the pads if you want.»
Apparently his goal was to get me in the store which he succeeded in doing. He failed miserably at getting my money and business because I quickly left after getting the estimate.

I have a jeep wrangler unlimited and I decided to get a new set of tires and a lift kit at Car-​X. They had impeccable customer service and unbeatable prices.
This place is second to none and I feel completely comfortable taking any of my cars there for any issues or maintenance.
I recommended my family and friends to this Car-​X in Glen Ellyn and they have had the same great experience.

We have (unfortunately:) needed the services of Car X multiple times with the last year or two.
The service we get is exemplary. Brandon, the manager, takes great care of us… EVERY time. He always goes above and beyond as far as getting us «fixed» as soon as possible, giving us fair deals and making us feel like we are truly valued customers.
Too bad about other «not so happy» reviews. Give them another chance and mention that you were not completely satisfied. Ask for Brandon and tell him Gary and Karen sent you. I know it is very important to him that his customers are happy. We certainly always have been.

Have gotten my oil changed there twice. The manager Brandon remembered who I was and was very hospitable and helpful while I waited. Even brought me a water bottle.
They always let you know different things that need to be fixed or updated in the car but I’ve never felt like they were pushy with getting them done. I also appreciate the fact that they’ll explain why those repairs are necessary but that it’s still your car and your decision. Overall very satisfactory and professional service from an auto body shop

I have only been there a few times however the establishment is very clean and the manager is very respectful and will to take the time to explain what is going on with my car. I will defiently be back and tell people other to go there.

My mother, who is a disabled senior citizen, had her brake lines fail with brake fluid leaking everywhere and almost total loss of braking. We took her car to Car-​X and they replaced the brake lines, but later that same day she noticed a large amount of brake fluid was leaking in her driveway again. (Thankfully she saw this right away and didn’t drive it anywhere and get into an accident.)
No longer trusting the mechanics at Car-​X to do the job right, she took her car to another mechanic who came highly recommended by a friend. This mechanic noticed several major issues with the Car-​X repair that caused the leak, such as a loose bolt and improper splicing of brake lines, and fixed the problems.
After contacting Car-​X and providing them with written proof of the issues found and properly repaired by the other mechanic, they refused to refund our money, even after speaking with their district manager. I can understand that minor issues sometimes arise with car repairs, but when you’re dealing with an important safety component such as brake lines, you need to get it right the first time.

I needed an oil change. Granted, I have no idea what that entails, but it was done and they gave me a student discount without asking.
I called ahead, the guy was curt/​direct, and I was done within 30 minutes on a hot Thursday afternoon.

Had a coupon for an $ 18 oil change for this place. Called on a Tuesday and scheduled an appointment for 10am Saturday. I didn’t end up leaving there until 11:30am due to them being backed up. An hour and a half for an oil change… really??? Guess making an appointment was pointless.
The oil change included tire rotation which I asked them not to perform, but what do they do anyways… rotate my tires. Slow service and sub par customer service. Probably wouldn’t come back even if they did have a special going on.

Negligent repairs, horrible customer service. Welcome to my first-​ever one-​star review.
My usual mechanic was all booked up, but I wanted a quick oil change and tire rotation before a trip. Car X did the work quickly and charged a good price. However, as soon as I got in the car I noticed a clicking noise in the gear shifter that wasn’t there before. The guy just said «I can’t believe you’ve never noticed that before» and sent me on my way, miffed. Basically their crew threw the car into park too roughly and now it’s my problem.
But the real complaint: after a routine tire rotation, they failed to properly tighten the lugnuts on the tires! That same afternoon we had to pull over after the car felt shaky and made an odd noise. We realized that most of the lugnuts had not been put back on properly. One stud had fallen off completely and we took video of my husband unscrewing several of the others. They were so loose that he could remove them BY HAND. That’s how close my tire was to falling off while I was going 65 miles per hour on the freeway with 4 lives in the car.
I called Car X to alert them to this and got indifferent service from the manager. She immediately said there’s no proof and how does she know I don’t just want a lawsuit. What kind of business is this suspicious of its customers? I told her I was disturbed that she did not have more concern that her staff did something so dangerous to me. She said, «I am concerned, that’s why I’m looking for a new mechanic.» (!) «But you can’t prove this was us and it’s impossible for our drills to not tighten the nuts all the way.»
I will probably get my money back and be out one tire stud, but that’s not what’s important to me at this point. It was careless work and when confronted with a safety issue they were not interested. I was treated rudely when I was polite. Please don’t entrust your family to this business or put up with this kind of service. These are the mechanics who give auto shops a bad rep.

These guys were terrific. I had to get a resonator pipe for a new car I just purchased and when I called in the morning to see how much it would run, Matt (the store manager) was very accommodating by telling me the exact cost and how long it would take to order the part. He was able to get the part in by that afternoon and I was able to get my car repaired within an hour. Additionally, everyone I met at the shop was very professional, personable (which isn’t always present at a repair shop) and extremely hospitable. I even had a problem getting my front license plate holder off of my car and they helped me do it free of charge. I would HIGHLY recommend this Car-​X to anyone who is looking for courteous, professional service. This repair shop is excellent.

Took my car in yesterday to Car X to get my brakes done. I dropped my car off at 11:40 and told them I would be back around 4 to pick it up. They told me they would take a look at my car and give me a call and let me know what I need. I then got a call that they couldn’t find the locking nut for my wheels. I was a bit surprised because I know I kept it with my wrench. I haven’t ever had a problem with it before but they couldn’t fin it. So they ended up having to destroy my locking nuts and replaced them with regular ones. I would take away points from them on this but maybe Costco forgot to put it back when I last ha my tires rotated so I will not blame car x for this. However after looking at the brakes they told me I needed rear tie rods. i find that interesting because my car only has 55,000miles on it. I just don’t think those are bad yet. However they did a good job changing my brakes. The new brakes work about the same as the factory ones did and now are covered by a lifetime warranty. Over all I’m happy with the work that was done to my car but I will be watching them closely in the future because I think they tell you things are wrong when they aren’t. Also be prepared to wait while I dropped my car off at 11:40 it wasn’t completed till 5:30.

whoah there, 5 stars. these guys did not live up to the standard they set on my first visit.
i’ve been back here twice more since my intial review. the owner, serhat, is usually always there, and he’s very good about call backs, discounts, and basically just keeping you in the loop and getting the job done right.
when he is out of town, it’s like dealing with a bunch of chickens running around with their heads cut off. long story short: i took the car in saturday, and had to wait until tuesday for the part to come in. they suggest that i bring the car in tues, as the part «will definitely be there.» i say i am going to take off work wednesday to MAKE SURE that i do not waste a day in vain if the part does not arrive in time tues.
i think you know where this is headed… i call tuesday evening to make sure they have the part and ask about overnight drop off procedure. the part is not in. ol girl on the phone says she will call to check on it and call me right back. i receive no call back, and when i try their number again, it rings endlessly with no answer. i drive all the way out there, and basically have to drop it off first thing in the morning wednesday, then call them about 500 times at various points during the day to check on the status of the part/​my car because they WON’T CALL ME BACK (even though i was told about 5 times throughout the day that i would be getting calls when this or that happened).
come back, serhat, and tell your crew to get their shit together.
