My car had issues shifting past first gear all of a sudden and would not go over 20 mph. I got her home and attempted to start again and she just shook amazingly bad and would not start. I thought the worst (as you tend to do). Nightmares of having to rebuild the transmission, weird fluids leaking, and google searches led me to Aamco. Not only did they allow me to tow the car in without being there (because I had to work and had not planned for car problems), Robert assured me I didn’t need an appointment and they would not charge me anything for a diagnostic. He asked a lot of troubleshooting questions over the phone about what I was experiencing. He even told me if they got to look at the car and gave me a quote that I could still decline and shop around. I really appreciated his honesty and he was incredibly genuine.
He received the car from my AAA driver, near end of day, and called me the next morning with everything he found. It was an engine problem, not transmission, and though it would still cost around $ 650, (I was thinking $ 2500) most of the cost would be labor because my engine was soaked in oil and the spark plugs needed to be changed, and quite of but needed to be cleaned. I didn’t have a day off until Saturday (this was Wednesday) and authorized him to do the work, and that he didn’t need to hurry for next day turn around. As a long shot, I asked that they take a look at my taillight, which I had gotten a ticket for because it had some electrical problems.
These guys blew my mind. They called me Thursday morning, asked if I would like to pick up my car. Robert told me he took care of the tail light (!!!) and also that he was able to cut costs on labor so I paid about $ 100 less than the original quoted price and got my tail light fixed. I’m in shock. I’m so glad I went to them. I really appreciated the way Robert talked to me and explained everything that was happening, and how he laid out my options. Go here. These guys are special!

I’m late sending this post as I procrastinate on everything, but I went to AAMCO back in September 2015 or maybe October. Robert and Enrique are amazing! I was given the run around from Firestone and others until someone at PepBoys recommended me go to AAMCO in Glendale. They were super helpful and even waited for me to show after hours as I was running a little late. I ended up buying a new car, because my transmission was going out but the service I received from those guys was unforgettable. I would recommend ANYONE I know to them. They won’t try to get over on you or make you feel rushed at all. Great service!

I cant thank Robert & Enrique enough, These two took a huge stress off my shoulders. So the week of Christmas, my car decides to die in the middle of the Starbucks drive through. Not the most convenient spot for it to break down in, but I was able to get it moved into a parking spot at least. I call up these two, and let them know that I was on the way down, once the tow truck got to me to tow my little old beater down to them to see what is going on.
Of course, as soon as the tow truck get there, my car decides she wants to start running perfectly fine. Go figure. I still drive her down to Aamco, with the tow truck following me just in case. I drop my car off with them, and head off to work and let them know to just call me when they figure out what is wrong.
Good news? Nothing is wrong. They figured it was debris in my gas tank that got stuck in the gas filter and prevented gas from getting into my engine, and Enrique just advised me to make sure I don’t get super low on gas and she should be fine.
Better news? They didn’t charge me a thing. You guys are amazing!
They did inform me that I will probably have to get my spark plugs and wires & everything replaced soon, but let me know that I could ride that out for a little while. I had a suspicion that those needed to be replaced soon anyway (just based off mileage), so I knew that was coming.

My car was overheating badly and I happened to be right next to AAMCO. I pulled into their forecourt, opened the radiator slowly, but it still exploded, spilling green coolant all over the ground. Enrique couldn’t have been more helpful, got me water to refill it and completely brushed over the fact that I’d dumped green slime on their property. Based on this experience and meeting him, I can tell that not only is he a nice guy, he runs an excellent business.

My civic was showing trouble in transmission. This shop diagnosed thoroughly and detailed assessment. I agree with their judgements and suggestions. They were very patient and excellent in explaining all the details. Very satisfied.

Because I was very satisfied with the previous work done on my Lexus, I brought my car again to this AAMCO Car Care in Glendale to fix all defective car mounts. Enrique and Robert appraised me thoroughly of work to be done and parts needed. Their pricing is fair and very reasonable. All the needed fixes were done to my total satisfaction. I will always rely on this AAMCO for my car’s total care. They deserve my 5 star rating!

I dropped off my car for a check engine light. They called my and told me to change my spark plugs on the car and it would fix the problem so I gave them permission to do the job and since then i haven’t had a problem with the car. Thank you AAMCO

First! I cannot thank them in any other way other than this review because they wouldn’t take my money.
I was headed off for a long list of errands to run on my day off, when I had 3 signal lights turn ON on my dashboard. I knew this was not going to be good news for me.
I own a 2005 Toyota Prius with 175,000 miles approx. I had called another mechanic prior to calling this AAMCO, who would have charged me about 100 $ for a diagnosis. I called AAMCO right after that and they where willing to check my my car free of charge… excuse me… come again? Same day, right now!
Well, little begging was done before, 5 minutes later, I rolled in with my emergency lights ON to drop off this bucket of mine, and about 2 hours later the diagnosis was in… My Hybrid energy power/​system/​battery whatever was done and I would unfortunately need to replace it. Robert recommended I take care of it ASAP. But unfortunately his shop does not do these type of emergency procedures.
I was left to return to the Toyota Dealership where my regular advisor and his mechanics confirmed AAMCO’s diagnosis of a new Hybrid battery system replacement. Uhm yeah about $ 3300 in the hole for a replacement. Might be time for a new car…

This place is awesome. I took my car to get the transmission fixed through my warranty company. Robert was on top of things. He gave us all the information we needed. That was in March. I took my car in again so they could check the check engine light while I was waiting I overheard a convo that he was having with a customer. The customer took their car in because they heard a noise and thought it was their transmission. Well he could have told them so many lies like people do. But he was very honest. He told them something was bent and they would bend it back. And nothing was wrong with their car. That’s a place to go to. Thanks

I brought my car in with an intermittent auto trans problem. They got me right in, took a look, found a simple solution, asked me to continue to monitor, and DID NOT CHARGE me a dime. This place is home to some incredible guys. I had a snapped bolt and they took care of it, no problem. They even went out of their way to get a tool needed for the job (the bolt was in a very tight space). Job was done in less than an hour. Great, easy to find location, adjacent to a low traffic street. I’ll definitely be coming back if I run into any more problems I can’t handle.

I came to this Glendale location and I was helped by Enrique, he is a very honest person and his work. I had a slight situation with my car and of course accidents happen… Enrique not only got me a rental car but kept his word on fixing my car. I am pleased to know that there are honest mechanics out there and definitely would recommend this shop.
I work with customers my self I understand when somebody is giving me top of the line service and that’s what Enrique provided for me.

Best experience I have had with having work done to my car.

My Lexus’s Transmission finally blew the big one in early Sept 2014 and my claims company referred me to AAMCO in Glendale to get it all fixed and righted again.
The work was extensive and complication after complication came up. However, Robert is THE MAN! He priced me fairly and even worked extra hours of labor putting everyone he could on my car to ensure that it indeed ran well without issue. He updated me through the process and even took my daily calls without hesitation. He’s fair and honest and that’s about as much as I need to get from a car repair place. I will recommend others to this place and to Robert and Enrique. They are fine car guys that know what they are doing and overall good people to know.

My husband and I were very pleased and satisfied with the work they did on our 2002
Ford Explorer. We took our car there on Wednesday August 20^th 2014 (emergency) we
went on vacation on our way to Disneyland to spend the last couples of days with our
children before school started with some family fun! After the Grapevine our cars
check engine light came on and started to make a funny noise. My husband knew it
was most likely the transmission so I quickly looked up the nearest Aamco. We found
this one in Glandale on Colorado Street and made it there safely. We explained to the
guys our situation and they told us they were going to take a look and call us to let us know
what needs to be done. In the mean time the guy that was helping us (I forgot his name)
called up Enterprise and rented us a car at his discount rate. Enterprise sent someone right
away with a car and helped us unload and load up to the rental. They helped make a not so
fun into something we could still enjoy and we were able to enjoy the rest of our trip and
along the way we went to Disneyland. The guy called my husband explained to him the
problem, give us the price and we gave them the ok to go ahead and rebuild the transmission.
They called us when to let us know our car was done and we could pick it up on Saturday morning.
There was another guy when we went back (not sure the guys name) but he told us when we got
there that he knew we were going a long way back to Oakland and wanted to make sure we made it
back safely. He said he tested the car out twice once on Friday when the work was done and then
again on Saturday early in the morning. He explained the work that was done and told us they usually
like to see the car back in 10 days to check it to make sure all is good but since we were going back home
he told us to take it to an Aamco near by home and have it checked. He even took the time to call us and
make sure we made it home safely, thank you! He called them and faxed over the work they did and we
took in before the Labor Day holiday and got the green light all was good! We just wanted to say thank you
so much for everything we really appreciate it all! We would highly recommend this place your car will be in
the best hands ever. They are very friendly, honest and let us enjoy our vacation as if nothing had happened,
we got to enjoy our vacation knowing our car was in good hands.

This aamco gave me the BEST service. Needed my sensors replaced. Robert was very nice explained everything to me.
Let me say i had a bad experience at a different location (they r individually owned) and did want to return so they were able to do the work i needed. Enrique was also very nice thank you glendale aamco

I dropped my car off hoping they would do a thorough inspection since they said it would take about two hours. They said they would call me when everything was done. Instead I had to call them three hours later. I get there and they tell me their reader showed them what was wrong and they didn’t need to go any further with checking anything. In other words, I could have known what was supposedly wrong in less than a minute.
Then they tell me that third gear is slipping and that I need a rebuilt transmission which would cost me at least $ 1,600. Not wanting to spend all that money, I go to my mechanic and he tests the car with the same kind of reader. He says the transmission is completely fine and that third gear was slipping because of an electrical issue. To fix it was just $ 160!
Now my car is running fine. I don’t feel a slip at all.
I would have literally spent ten times as much had i trusted the opinion of this Aamco. They are incompetent, inconsiderate, and dishonest. If you have to go here, or anywhere for that matter, at least get a second opinion. You could end up saving a whole lot of money!
