History

Established in 1992.

Dr. Bergh graduated from the USC School of Dentistry in 1992 with his Certificate in Orthodontics and Master of Science Degree in Craniofacial Biology. With his background in physical education and dentistry, Dr. Bergh offers a unique blend of Orthodontic and educational skills which compliment the style of our practice.

Dr. Bergh continues the legacy of family orthodontics as his father practiced for over 40 years.

Dr. Bergh became interested in the field of orthodontics early in life and began working in his father’s practice at the age of 13. His love for orthodontics continued throughout his high school and college years, and was confirmed while attending the Loma Linda School of Dentistry from 1986 — 1990.

Dr. Bergh became Invisalign certified in 2000, and maintains the highest level of experience in our local community. An Elite Premier Provider, his goals are to provide the most advanced treatment with the Invisalign appliance.

Dr. Brian Bergh has practiced in the local Glendale area since 1992 and has experience in orthodontics since 1973. He started working in his father’s orthodontic practice at the age of 13.

Dr. Bergh has spent many years on the clinical faculty at the USC School of Dentistry. He has served in many organizations as president including the LLU Dental School Class of 1990; the USC Orthodontic Alumni Association; the Glendale Academy of Dentists; the Glendale Healthy Kids and is currently the president-​elect of the Glendale Noon Rotary.

Dr. Bergh has receiced many awards including Best Orthodontist of Glendale and the Foothill Area; the Tom Miller Award; the Caring Together Award; and recognition from local and state government officials for his work with Glendale Healthy Kids.

Dr. Bergh is the proud father of 3 children, Kaila, Kaigan and Bryley and is married to his lovely wife Tina. They have a Poo-​chon named Maddi who is an office favorite.

We have been coming to this offic for the last 6 years… Staff are nice and helpful. I just do not know the lady next to Jasmine I ask to see
if she can schedule my son for a broken brace I was given one day and said «that’s the only day I have we are busy on most of the days». Hmm okay. but as soon as I spoke to Jasmine for scheduling she was able to give me a day. So my point is «ask» the experts in scheduling before you give customers the frustration. Otherwise Dr Bergh is a Great Orthodontist

If I could give this office 10 stars, I would! Where do I start? From the first office visit to every follow up, Dr Bergh and his staff are the most professional people that you can ask for. I got a gift basket when I first signed on as a new patient. They also send little thank you notes after visits– so nice to get something in the mail! Good rates. High tech facility. Great parking. Tea, coffee, water… every detail is perfection! Thank you so much.

I made an appointment with Dr. Bergh on a recommendation from a co-​worker and could not have been happier. I needed a new retainer as another orthodontist made one that didn’t fit and was not remotely tight enough. Dr. Bergh did an incredibly thorough exam, answered all of my questions about the right kind of retainer to get for my needs, answered my questions about invisalign which I considered to possibly do some fine-​tuning of my old orthodontia work (his suggestion — don’t do it). How is that for incredibly ethical!
He and his staff are friendly and professional and the office is relaxing (wonderful fish tanks), easy to get to and they have appointments around the lunch hour which is so convenient.
I highly recommend Dr. Bergh.

This review is long long long overdue. I don’t even know where to begin…
I visited a few orthodontists who said the only way to fix my open bite was with surgery. I couldn’t eat burritos or pizza without a fork and knife and I had a terrible lisp. I really wanted to fix it, but was unwilling to have my face sawed. Finally, a friend referred me to Dr. Bergh, who was the only person willing to try a less invasive method to fix my bite.
After a year in a retainer, he felt that we could close my bite the rest of the way with Invisaline. And YES!!! We did!!! Surgery would have taken one year of healing plus two additional years to have the bone structure back to normal. I’d say the conservative route was a fantastic decision!
Listen to what he tells you. Do not get lazy with your braces and you will be shocked at the results. Best ortho on the planet!

I have a permanent retainer from a different orthodontist whose office was closed for the night (he’s also a great orthodontist). I’ve had the retainer for 8 years and the adhesive came loose, which isn’t uncommon for having a retainer for that long. The wire was poking my tongue and mouth… it wasn’t a life or death emergency, but it was VERY uncomfortable and would’ve been uncomfortable over night, plus I couldn’t talk very well.
I called a few doctors before calling Dr. Bergh. He was the only one willing to see me same day, which was about 4:45pm, their office closes at 5.
The receptionist (Jasmine) was SO PATIENT with me… Dr. Bergh was quick and thorough and fixed the problem right away… the rest of the staff was very kind as well.
The office was packed with patients, so it doesn’t seem like they’re desperate for business, but they still managed to see me last minute and helped me out considerably.

I love Dr Bergh and his staff. they’re always nice and friendly, and very efficient. i never wait more than 5 – 10 minutes for my appointment. once i had to reschedule due to a family emergency, and the office sent me a card with their warm wishes. that was such a nice gesture. it really made me feel like they care.

Dr. Berg, Put on braces for phase1 on my son. He did not know what he was doing. Fast forward two years later and I find out he over expanded my son too much. He has fang teeth because the upper teeth are crowded and his teeth are not lined up properly. My other son had a Swartz appliance put on lower jaw which I find out ortho. Do not use anymore. He also over expended his mouth as well. Thank
Goodness I have new ortho. The ortho works on mouth instead of assistants every time he goes in and really works on wires instead of just checking with Popsicle stick. Futhermore, my sons wires have never broken once since going to new ortho. I was at Dr. Bergs every two weeks because wire would come out. I also found out he is not board certified. He is expensive and does not do good work. Look elsewhere.

We’ve been visiting Dr. Bergh every 6 months for 4 years now, starting when my son was 9 years old to keep an eye on his teeth and determine if we needed any early interventions. The service has always been prompt, friendly, and descriptive, and never cost us a dime.
Now he’s 13, and today, my son got braces. He was extremely nervous going in, but Dr. Bergh and (the awesome) Connie talked him through every step, explaining everything they were doing and why. The process was extremely gentle and every question was answered with the understanding that while this may be a daily event for them, it was totally new to us. Comparing notes with my friends with kids, his pricing is totally competitive, and with service like this, why would you go anywhere else?
My daughter started her observation appointments this year. Spacers next year — validated by our family dentist. (Poor kids have terrible teeth genes.) Needless to say, we’ll be visiting Dr. Bergh for quite awhile and we look forward to every appointment.

«I’ve had a great experience with Dr. Bergh and all his staff. The Invisalign process has been straight forward and I have gotten fantastic results. I had traditional braces when I was young and my teeth were shifting back to their original placement. Having done both traditional and Invisalign, I would recommend Invisalign without hesitation. My 13 year old daughter is also seeing Dr. Bergh and using Invisalign. She has also had great results and her dentist is really pleased that she can floss and brush regularly by taking the Invisalign out. Highly recommend!»

I am one happy parent! My son was on the Phase I program at another orthodontist, that never ended and eased into Phase II with no new contract, so we jumped ship. Way too late! We should have come to Dr. Bergh LONG AGO!!! He did a full evaluation of my son, and validated exactly what we thought! No need for Phase II for a few more years! Dr. Bergh was clear and concise and talked us through options if we wanted to pursue Phase II now, but if we were happy with the smile for 2 – 4 more years, there was NO REASON to treat our son!
He does all the pictures and x-​rays in house, doesn’t send us out to another facility, the staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and we will bring our son back, along with his siblings!!!

I don’t understand any of these negative reviews.
It makes no sense to complain about price. You can shop around (like I did) and find doctors who charge less. The only catch is that you get what you paid for. With his experience and professional courtesy, I think my treatment was worth every penny. You can’t find someone who is dirt cheap with tons of experience and a high level of expertise.
Dr. Bergh is a professional who was/​is an adjunct professor at USC school of dentistry. Obviously he knows his stuff. Invisalign also lists him as an elite provider and a teen provider. I think those are both pretty objective standards for his expertise (unlike Unilocal?)
I have been a patient for 4 years and I couldn’t be happier. The staff is always very professional and the results have gone above my expectations. I have always found my interactions warm enough (are you really looking for a new best friend?).
My family and friend all agree that he has done outstanding work.
If you’re on the fence, I suggest you make an appointment and at the very least get a consultation. I know that I sound like I’m «pitching him,» but unlike other reviewers… I actually use Unilocal on a pretty regular basis and NOT just to trash others.

He did a good job and he seems like a nice guy. I am generally happy with the end results – my teeth are straight and white.
But there were a few snags along the way. In my initial evaluation and payment plan, he had included some shaping of my teeth and whitening, which later he claimed were not part of the deal. I suppose this could have been a misunderstanding. Also, when he was grinding off the anchors, he left some ridges in my teeth that I am not really pleased with. Finally, the pricing for the retainers was a bit higher than I liked, but I need them periodically so must pay basically whatever they decide to charge.
I never had a problem with an appointment… he was always cordial and on time… this was most appreciated! The office staff was very pleasant and as professional as they come. Keep up the good work!

I’m sure Bergh will write an eloquent response to my review, but whatever he responds, he knows that what I have written is the honest to God truth. The only way he will know what it feels like to be on the receiving end of such trauma is to endure it himself; maybe one day he will understand the true depth of what he’s done.
READER’S DIGEST VERSION:
I went to Bergh right after my 40th birthday to get braces, mainly because one of my cuspids (canines) was elevated much higher than the rest of my teeth. Bergh presents very professionally and I trusted that he knew what he was doing, with great reviews etc. I have paperwork with an estimated time of 16 months to correct my teeth/​smile, and it would have been okay, if it had gone a bit longer, however…
After THREE years and my teeth looking actually WORSE than when I began, I sought a second opinion. I was stunned to see xrays of my roots which looked like a fallen down picket fence, one at one angle, another at another angle, etc. The new orthodontist, explained that I had «root resorption» in my front teeth… my roots were basically disintegrating! :(Not only had Bergh done «God knows what» to my teeth, he hadn’t taken xrays to check my roots which is VERY important especially with adult orthodontia.
After the three years, I might add, not only was the cuspid still not perfect, but the other things he was supposed to fix were not done, and he said it was «the best he could do.» I cannot tell you the physical and emotional grief I have endured due to this orthodontial treatment.
This new orthodontist reluctantly agreed to help me, because most doctors understandably don’t want to take over when someone else has messed up. Thankfully, after another year of treatment, I have a better smile than when Bergh had me in braces, but I still hate the way I look. I am the only person I know who felt worse after the braces came off… I cannot express in words how I felt… to look at yourself and know you will look terrible the rest of your life. You must also keep in mind, this is the Reader’s Digest version… you can’t even imagine the whole story.
I had to endure FOUR years of having braces on as an adult with all the pain and problems that went along with it. I still have a lump inside my cheek which will probably never go away, from the brace cutting into me all the time. I wouldn’t wish what I went through on my worst enemy (okay that’s a lie, I totally would, because it was torture) but I so wish I had never set foot in that man’s office.

Dr. Bergh and his staff are such a pleasure to work with. You are always greeted with a «hello» from the moment you walk in and a «have a good day» on your way out. They also offer complimentary tea and parking validation. Their check in system is very easy to work with. You just type your name on a laptop, head over to the sink to brush your teeth (they offer free toothbrushes with toothpaste too!), and sit and wait at the patient area. I have never waited for more than 5 minutes for my appointment to begin. So far, my teeth are looking great and the process has been smooth.
In the beginning, I experienced a bit of a hurdle with my payment plan. However, Dr. Bergh ensured that everything was going to be taken care of and that I was pleased with the results. They also have state of the art television sets with headphones. I can now get my weekly dose of talk shows during my visits.
Did I mention suresmile? It’s the best thing ever. Don’t forget to ask about it during your consultation. =)
