Sam is amazing! We just completed an extensive kitchen remodel with his help and are so excited with the results. Sam consistently exceeded our expectations with his wonderful customer service and attention to detail. If things weren’t quite right, Sam would fix it at his own cost. He was not satisfied unless we were satisfied. Weekends, evenings, no matter the time, Sam was there if needed to answer questions or to come by and check on things. We couldn’t be happier with the personal attention we received and our amazing new kitchen! We definitely recommend Sam and his team! Thank you, Sam!

I came in for a small order that I needed in a hurry. The owner and sales staff were very accommodating and attentive, even though the order volume was small. Because I needed the material soon, the owner sent out one of his trucks (for a reasonable fee) to make the pick up for next day availability. I came in for a specific tile, but there appeared to be a good selection of counter tops, cabinets, and back splashes — which I’ll return to look through in more detail for my next project.

Sam is definitely not the man, call about a scrap piece of Corian counter top, he said he had one, drove down and meet the guy, he told me to go to Home Depot for corian, what a waste of my time. He then try to sell me a $ 15 dollar piece of scrap quartz for $ 100, Come On Sam!!! Sam, you can hang on to your piece of sCrap, could have made something and value customer, but instead, you earn a star…

Sam makes it easy for selecting designs, material, and scheduling.
His price was among lowest out of 4 estimates, and he made extra efforts and trips to finish off the project without pain and without regret.
Doesn’t over-​charge you because you paid by credit card, nor doesn’t add percentage on those little materials (tubes, pipes, etc) he’d purchase from Home Depot which makes it a lot convenient for me.
On my total remodeling project, 3 other contractors were involved and Sam was the only one that did not need any supervision. Money is well worth and not expensive at quality job well done.
Will definitely hire for more jobs in the future!

Caveat… we have not yet gone forward with the kitchen installation, but this post speaks to the customer service my husband and I have received.
Sam and Tania have been amazing to work with thus far! We have changed our minds regarding materials multiple times and the patience Sam has shown us has been exemplary. Yesterday we finally decided on materials and I gave Sam the green light to order materials and schedule the labor, but upon waking up this morning we had second thoughts regarding layout. I let Sam know immediately and he has agreed to return our check and give us the time to work out what we want. I find kitchen remodeling very stressful and Glendale Tiles and Tops has really been wonderful making me feel comfortable with the process.

My husband and I took off early from work today to check this place out to supply tile for our kitchen, and two and a half bathrooms. My husband shows up first, is ignored by the owner (?), who leaves to run an errand. He arrives about 10 minutes later, fine. I ask him a price on a particular tile. He asks how big the room is. I tell him it would be for the kitchen, 13×9.5′. He tells me that will be expensive. Ummm… did I wear my rags to the store today? After 10 minutes, he tells me it’s not in the catalog, and can get me a price tomorrow (Saturday) because the warehouse is already closed, but it will be expensive. I ask him what expensive means, and he says he’ll have to tell me tomorrow. I ask him how long it would take to order. He says he’ll have to tell me tomorrow. We ask him prices on about 3 more tiles, which he gives us, then when we ask whether any of them are in stock, he says he’ll have to tell us tomorrow. I ask him his hours tomorrow — 10am — 3pm. I ask him if we show up at 2:30pm, whether the places will be open for us to get the information. Actually, he says, they’re all closed until Monday. So no, we wouldn’t have any information tomorrow.
Thank you for wasting my time and treating me like I’m not a serious customer. My business will go elsewhere. I would have given 1 star, but the selection looked pretty good. Too bad we couldn’t get any information about it.

Very disappointing! With such glowing recommendations, I anticipated a very pleasant exchange. Unfortunately, that was not to be.
I recently had a large portion of tile flooring replaced and had some surplus tile remaining after the job was finished. I called Glendale Tiles & Tops for an estimate to re-​tile my 2ft x 7ft fireplace hearth. The representative who answered the phone advised me that GT&T only installs material purchased in their shop to avoid any problem that may arise from the material itself. It seems to me that we could have come to some sort of «hold harmless» agreement that would satisfy both parties. Yet established policy won out over the desire to gain a new and potentially happy customer who would go on to write another glowing review. .. instead of this one. C’est la vie.

I can’t say enough about Glendale Tiles and Tops. Sam and Tania are the most professional and honest people I met in the business. We purchased a new house and needed to change the kitchen and three bathrooms. Initially I hired a designer to help me but after I met them I founded out that I don’t need that and they help us design the kitchen and bathrooms. Sam not only took the project and made sure everything went smooth; but he took it further and helped us found contractors for almost everything we needed including, painting, glass etc. Tania is a great designer. She helped us chose all the tiles, cabinet, backsplash and wall painting color. Everything was done within a month and their prices were the best comparing to other offers I received. In the future I will not waste time and just go directly to them..

We got our center island hangover part cut off! Sam sent his crew over (5 people total) just to take care of this small job. His guys carefully took my counter top, cut down the rough top, brought the stone fback to the shop, and came back at the same day to install it! TADA!!! The finish product looks perfect, you can’t tell it was cut, it looks just like a brand new one we would’ve bought! Very pleased with Sam’s crews, they were prompt, responsible, and clean up after themselves! And what the best was, Sam didn’t even charge me the extra for taking the counter top back to the shop to cut it — his original quote was just for the crew to cut it in my place, to take it back it would’ve cost more according his guy, but he was so kind and just waived it! And the price — believe me, I’ve done my homework, nowhere else could beat them.
Overall, this has been the BEST experiences I have ever had with any business in LA, love them!!! We need more business like this in this city, one that stands by their service, and run their business with pride and honesty. Thumbs up BIGGGG TIME!!! Look no further if your need tiles or counter tops, here’s your place to go!!!

So after several phone calls with Sam at the same day, I came in last Saturday to see the materials, and get a quote. And guess what? Sam talked me out of what I was originally thinking! He basically turned away business to save my wallet from shrinking and offered a solution will just as satisfied, which is cutting my center island counter top, instead of changing it. He even came to our place to actually see how it will be done, and schedule it within 3 days for someone to come over and do the job. We were also thinking of changing the backdrop of the counter top to tiles, but he said those are good stuffs, save your money, it looks good, don’t change it!
I’ve been searching for contractors to do some work for our place, and to be honest this has been quite a frustrating experience. I’ve never met a business man who is genuinely thinking of your best interest, instead of trying to make as much money as he can. Honestly he already gave me the lowest quote on the center island remodeling, but he walked the extra mile, and offered a solution that is least wasteful, and also best in the outcome. I AM TOUCHED.
No mention besides that, he’s such a funny and friendly guy, he greet everyone like an old friend, and made the conversation very enjoyable.

We want to cut off the extension part of our center island counter top and I found this place through Unilocal.I talked to Sam and he’s very responsive, patient and offer variable solutions for me. I already like him! Will come in and see what they can do for my center island, look forward to it and I will keep updates here so hopefully can help those have the same need as me!

This review is long overdue. We renovated our condo last november (around thanksgiving). Found Glendale Tiles and Tops through Unilocal.Sam helped us through the process, he is very patient and helpful.
We renovated everything in kitchen (floor, cabinets, countertops and plumbing), 2 bathrooms+bar area (Cabinets and countertop). Sam spent tonnes (weekends/​holidays) of time with us to finalize cabinets, countertops and tiles.
Demolition, hauling, plumbing and Installation is very quick and efficient (on or ahead of schedule). There were some minor issues with installation with cabinets /​flooring that were taken care in timely fashion.
Sam and his crew also took care of several things like installing microwave, bathroom toilets, fixing laundry room doors to fit new drier washer, hauling away huge old mirrors that were not part of original discussion.
Sam worked with us 3 full days (made several trips) and lent us 20 sample tiles on a much smaller project (fire place). He was genuinely cool when we decided to fix it later.

My husband and I have moved 6 times in the last ten years, so we’ve had our share of home renovations. Sam and Tania operate one of the best businesses that we have dealt with for home renovations.
Not only are the prices very fair for materials and labor, but I would say that their customer service is beyond exceptional. We recently did a 4200 sqft full renovation that included a large kitchen, 4 bathrooms, and a bar. Sam and Tania were very helpful throughout the Entire process.
They will answer every call, every text, and every email within an expeditious period of time. My husband is an engineer, so has very high expectations for material and installation quality — both of these were met by GTT.
There were some hiccups throughout the process, as with every large renovation, and Sam and Tania worked through the challenges in a very professional manner.
With competitive prices, one would think of cheap material — this is not the case with GTT. We were pleased with how good the cabinets looked for the price we paid.

At eight months pregnant and with a full tear down remodel required I discovered Glendale Tiles & Tops and it was a game-​changer. Originally, I had a contractor under consideration but it became evident that he was geared to overcharge me, drag the timeline and wasn’t even listening to what I had in mind. I’ve done a ton of daydreaming about my new kitchen, almost fifteen years, but Sam helped me transform my ideas into action and even gently guided me when my own thoughts weren’t going to translate as favorably into reality as I hoped. I appreciated how he helped me better plan for what works rather than just letting me go crazy throwing unnecessary money away, especially with my son on the way.
Sam (the owner) listened to my thoughts, looked through the photographs of the dreams I had floating around in my head, poured over the materials I preferred and helped me select a reasonably priced option that would serve my needs and desires and got the ball rolling immediately. Literally, within minutes of my selection and making a down payment he had a team (of some of the most pleasant contractors I’ve ever encountered, and my own late father owned a construction agency so I’ve met a ton of them) at my house to begin the demolition. They finished demolition before I even got home (my original contractor penciled out 2 – 3 weeks for demo). The contractors were thoughtful of my belongings and considerate of the safety of my pets (three dogs) as they worked. I was more than pleased.
It took about four weeks to complete the kitchen, redo the living room including remodel of the entire kitchen, adding a ton of lighting & electrical to my antiquated kitchen, building a large window seat in an alcove, retiling the fireplace base, painting and remodeling more than half of my home. In honesty, Sam’s team could have completed the job sooner but I experienced problems with the tile supplier (I worked with on my own, not any fault of Glendale Tiles & Tops) and it dragged the job out another week. I was in absolute awe of the speed at which they worked and the quality of the job exceeded my hopes.
I was also home the duration of the construction (on mandatory bed rest for complications with my pregnancy) and never had a problem with any of the Glendale Tiles & Tops workers. Sam has a knack for hiring respectful, considerate, hardworking and highly competent help in all of his staff. I was beyond impressed. I would emphatically use them again for anything else and enthusiastically recommend them to my friends. I don’t want to even think about what stress I’d have gone through if I had gone with my original plans. Sam helped me get the most for my tight budget and short time frame. What are you waiting for? If you want a positive experience and don’t want to hassle with shady contractors trying to bilk you out of your hard earned cash you should absolutely hire Glendale Tiles and Tops. They are the best!

My house was built in the 1950s and my wife and I love it, even though the kitchen was sorely in need of remodeling. Suffice to say, we began what we thought would be the long and arduous process of developing and implementing a remodeling strategy for the kitchen. We knew the basics and pretty much what we wanted — new counters, sink and backsplash. Keep in mind, colors and materials would be tricky for our kitchen. A quaint 1950s galley kitchen is not going to work with granite counter tops and steel appliances. That’s way too modern for us and stylistically just wouldn’t work.
Glendale Tiles and Tops was our second destination as we began visiting tile/​counter shops. We first met Tania who was very personable and knowledgeable. More importantly, she was down to earth and quite friendly, a pleasing departure from the lifeless drones that patrol the corridors of Home Depot, Lowes, etc. My wife and I were both impressed by the store’s inventory and displays. It’s much bigger than it appears from the street. There are numerous color and material samples as well as mock interiors available to peruse when trying to pin down a design scheme.
Sam visited us a couple days later and we were more than satisfied with the scope of work, estimate and time frame. He agreed with our design ideas for the kitchen and showed us additional backsplashes that we might like — one of which we ultimately choose. Sam was extremely gracious and thorough, so much so that he contacted us when the materials arrived since there were color deviations and he wanted to make sure we saw the actual materials prior to installation. These variations were very minor and possibly not even noticeable to the untrained eye. Nonetheless, Sam had the foresight and courtesy to double-​check things, which my wife and I very much appreciated.
The kitchen remodel, including demo, was completed in about a week’s time and we are thrilled with the result. Synthetic quartz counter tops blended with a marble backsplash of varying earth tones has dramatically improved the appearance and character of our kitchen. Sam’s crew also applied faux panels to ‘conceal’ gaps between the range and cabinets on either side. He suggested this and included it as part of the overall renovation — a personal touch that we are genuinely thankful for.
We were so pleased with the process and the finished product that we proceeded with remodeling the bathroom shortly after the kitchen was completed. The new bathroom tile was originally lined with standard metal flashing, which was a mistake on our part. It just didn’t complement the quality and look of the tile. Sam came over — on a Sunday no less — and we discussed solutions for over an hour. We ultimately decided on marble pencils slightly thicker than the tile to create a border of proper proportion and that needed ‘finished’ look. The result was wonderful and exactly what was missing. Sam also utilized excess tile to create a subtle ledge along a shower window. Yet another personal design touch on his part that added needed nuance and improved the overall project.
Aside from the design and quality of work superlatives, Sam and Tania deserve to be praised for their integrity, kindness and helpfulness. They genuinely look out for their customers and are willing to do whatever it takes to make them happy. We all know that a business, any business, is only as good as the people that run it. With Glendale Tiles and Tops, I can say without any hesitation that Sam, Tania, Charles and the rest of the ‘crew’ are as good as it gets. I would highly recommend them for any and all tile and counter work. A fantastic job and thanks again for everything!

This is the place to get great customer service and attention to detail. I needed a small piece of granite counter top and it didn’t take me more than an hour to walk out of the place with everything I needed.
Sam showed me all of my options within my budget in his junk yard, and he was able to cut it to my specifications and polish it as needed. He was very patient with all of my requests, questions and concerns.

I met Sam (owner) in the morning around 11am for countertop stone selection. Installer arrived at 4pm and job was done at 4:30pm. I never experienced this type of service in anywhere in US. You know what, I made a mistake to select wrong color, Sam replaced without any additional charge next day with new stone. what kind of service is that? He deserves 10 stars. Thank you Sam!

Congrats– you are Unilocaling before spending thousands on a kitchen or bath remodel– I did the same and found GTT. I am the guy who knows EXACTLY what I want… I do all my homework. I go to all the big box stores, watch the DIY network– I’m an educated consumer, and speak up when it’s not right, and boy do I want to praise companies like GTT who get it right. This company is as good as it gets…
I did granite tops in the kitchen and bathroom (the pricing and financing allowed me to add the bathroom as well). What is great is they can do it all– you don’t need one guy for the plumbing part, one guy for an electrical switch, one guy for the .you get the point… one stop shop.
Sam (owner) manages his crew– and that can be a tough job… ever deal with contractors? Call a box store and ask for the XYZ dept. time it… when you call GTT, you get Sam’s cell phone immediately, who is happy to hear even a concern or two you have– even drive by a time or two… small bean’s in the scheme of things, but a big deal to you, … You got it, it’s handled to your satisfaction. Tania his daughter works the office, she’s a pro– friendly, knowledgeable– you just get the sense you made the right decision from the beginning. It’s a family business– they take pride in it– it shows. His crew is GREAT –they work their asses off — you’ll want to offer more than water, next time, I’m getting them dinner– seriously. They will go out of their way to make it right, and with a smile-​VERY friendly people.
Most important to me– integrity, honesty, and work to your satisfaction– AND friendly to boot! Construction is always stressful– you know it’s gonna work out when you work with these guys. You get a great deal, and you know have found a «go to company for bath/​kitchen remodels…» I will use them again for any future small or large projects I have– and recommend them to anyone who will listen or who compliment my granite tops.

In my experience, a company is only as good as the people running it.
My boyfriend’s Unilocal search yielded Glendale Tiles and Tops, and from the very first meetings with Sam, we found him to be honest, thorough and 100% reliable. His daughter/​business partner Tania was very efficient and pleasant on the phone and in email providing me with quotes (which beat everyone else’s), though I dealt primarily with Sam.
He showed up when he said he would (my biggest battle with contractors) and did what he said he’d do. And more. Much more, in fact. And over the last several weeks of remodeling the kitchen and three bathrooms in my rental house, he’s become what I’d consider a trusted friend.
From the many excellent design suggestions he made that fit my budget, to the umpteen dozen trips he and his men made to Home Depot and my house to help me with handyman/​electrician/​plumber jobs that would’ve cost me a bundle otherwise, to the homemade salad he asked his men to bring to me when he knew I’d probably worked through lunch, Sam proved over and over that he genuinely looks out for his customers and will always go the extra mile for them.
In addition to the porcelain tile floor, granite counter tops, travertine back splashes and oak cabinetry that look amazing, he thought of many little extra touches that make my house stand apart from other rentals, like installing leftover granite pieces on the kitchen and bathroom windowsills and along a wall ledge — gorgeous!
As a woman and my own general contractor, I found Sam to be a breath of fresh air in all the important ways. He’s honorable (always treated me with kindness and respect, as well as making sure I agreed with every single line item on his invoices), helpful (always asking what else I needed), a good communicator (consistently answered calls, texts, emails — even briefly while on jury duty!) and very friendly. The men who work for him are the same, always trying to do their very best with a smile.
All said, it’s a wonderful family-​run company that makes me feel like part of the family.

In order to redone my almost 50 years old kitchen cabinets, countertops and bathroom I have checked so many places on line and by visiting.
In terms of price, quality and fastness GTT is the best.

Glendale Tile and Tops gets an A+++ in my book. They did an awesome job. I compared their prices with other contractors and they were the lowest by far.
They pay attention to all the small details and they get the job done fast. I have 2 kitchens that was needed a complete gutting and redo and they did everything from the demo to bringing in granite and cabinets, installing them, installing appliances, and putting the final finishing touches on there.
I was surprised how fast they were able to get in and out with all the work they needed to get done. They have a wide selection of cabinets, granites, handles, and the self closing hinges which I really love.
They brought my stone age kitchen up to date with the modern world with all the amenities of granite, stainless steel appliances, and travertine tile. They offer a fast, friendly service, at the lowest price possible. I will definitely use them again =)

I drove all the way from my place in West LA to Glendale to find GTT after striking out at several closer places with bad customer service and outrageous prices. Tania and Sam were extremely helpful and patient in helping me decide on my options, giving suggestions to save on cost — no matter what you pick, their prices are completely reasonable and much lower than any other places I found. Sam even drove out several times to look at what I wanted to do with my kitchen and take precise measurements before work started.
Once I decided, they scheduled their installers around my work schedule and the schedule for delivery of my appliances. The cabinet and counter installers were professional and courteous. Long after the job was done, they continued to help me when the plumber recommended by my neighbor ended up being a complete moron, and acted as the go-​between between several scheduling fiascos to get their plumber out to me.
My only quibble is that their workmen didn’t do such a great job in some smaller areas, probably only noticeable by me, but still. They cut one of the outlet openings too large so there is a visible hole in the granite peeking out from under, and they wouldn’t wait until the microwave installers finished up, so the microwave ended up having to stick out an extra half-​inch or so further than I’d planned. Also, I thought the counter part that sticks out should have a cleaner look, instead of the wood showing if you look at the underside. Still, Glendale Tiles & Tops is the real deal. Support a terrific family-​run small business.
