Be conversational. Talk to people. Use simple, understandable language when talking with people (avoid techno-​babble, if possible).

Easy is better than hard. Make it easy for a business owner to understand where they are and what their next steps should be. Avoid tools that are unnecessarily complicated.

Be honest & accountable. Solid relationships are valuable. Make each interaction productive toward building a positive relationship.

Do a lot with a little. Use tools that are affordable, meet the requirements, user friendly and supported by real, accessible people.

Treat every task like it’s our own. We expect the best for Uptica. We also expect that every task should be done as if it were our own.

I’ve worked with many businesses in a variety of capacities and I’ve held titles that range from Small Business Owner, Business Development Manager, Project Manager, Customer Service Manager, and Graphic Designer.

When I worked with those companies, I was surprised at how often I would come across very similar problems despite differences in their respective industries.

I started Uptica with a vision to help businesses avoid common ‘ruts’ and ‘gotchas’ that plague a lot of the tools out there. I like working with small and medium sized businesses because there are so many opportunities to grow and improve. Sometimes, all it takes is a good conversation and a little direction or help about how to use a tool (like a shopping cart).
