History

Established in 2007.

With this location opened in 2007, Mission Ace Hardware has been serving the greater San Gabriel Valley since 1946. Mission was started by Joe Falabrino with the premise of excellent Customer Service, Quality Products and outstanding Prices.

With two stores to serve you one in San Gabriel and one in Glendora

Lobster Season is here and in my preparation for the Lobster trapping rush I came to Mission Ace Hardware with a problem.
I wanted to attach my GoPro to a pole long enough to observe my lobster traps without having to pull them up. I didn’t know how I could safely do this without risking my expensive GoPro. So I walked into the store and was pleasantly greeted by Jeff. I told him my idea and I asked him if he knew of a way to do it. He came up with this great idea: He grabbed a 20 ft. PVC pipe and cut it into four pieces (5 ft each). Ran a rope thru the five pieces and added a few washers at each end. He then drilled a hole at the end of the PVC pipe and attached a threaded bolt for me to connect my GoPro. This lite solution was great because I could collapse this 20 ft. pole down to a few 5 ft. poles and he build it in a way that I wont lose my GoPro. I look forward to using it this weekend.
But this is not why I’m writing this review. The reason I needed to write this review is because I had a problem and not only did Jeff provide me the solution but he even built the solution for me. That to me is above and beyond any typical hardware store. I came in with no idea on how to to do it and I walked out with the solution in hand.

I was happy when I saw this «red hot buy» on storage containers! Unfortunately, this misleading ad was only for the $ 3.99 containers. I asked to speak to a manager and John (no title on his badge) was very short and told me he would not honor this ad and said I could call corporate. I have never felt more dismissed. What happen to customer service? From now on, I will only use their mailings to line the bottom of my birdcage.

The shelves are immaculate, the staff friendly and helpful and they often have what I need… HOWEVER, I feel hesitant taking home improvement tips from an outfit the bathroom of which looks like a venereal disease nightmare. Seriously. It would take half a day to replace the urine-​caked linoleum. They have access to the supplies needed? Why don’t they see it as a horrific embarrassment? Disgusting.

Very friendly staff, good prices and selection on everything but wood.
If you are not doing major renovations, look here before going to Lowe’s or Home Depot.
They also have a hardware (nuts & bolts) aisle that is better than the big name hardware /​home improvement centers. If you can’t find it, go to King Bolt; otherwise, this is the place!

I rarely write a review, but if you ever have a room to paint you have to see Angie at Ace Hardware in Glendora. She has the best eye for color that I have ever come across. She has never steered me wrong. I always get compliments on the room colors after she helps me choose. Aura paint is amazing.

I was contacted by Dino regarding the poor customer service. I explained the situation to him. He said he would look into it. I received a call back the next day. He apologized and stated that things were not handled properly. He stated that he would honor the original deal if I were still interested and would make sure that everything would be taken care of satisfactorily.
I appreciated the fact that Dino was concerned about my initial experience and wanted to do what he could to fix it. This is more of my idea of the way to run a local neighborhood establishment. Hopefully future experiences will remain positive.

No exaggeration the workers here are friendly, helpful and knowledge – aka perfect. They are the main reason I shop here instead of Home Depot or Lowe’s.
While it is a little bit smaller store they almost always have what I need. I’m clueless when it comes to certain projects but the workers never make me feel stupid for it. I have also had certain people tell me I need to talk to another employee about my project because they are the most knowledgeable in that area. I appreciate their honesty!
I also like that it’s a franchise so this shop is owned by locals! Always great to shop local when you can

The customer service rocked, Elizabeth was my cashier. I came in for batteries, when I went to pay Elizabeth pointed out I could get 60% more for the same price, what a deal. She did not have to do this, essentially she saved me cash. This has always been a great alternative to Home Depot. Thanks for the outstanding customer service.

The Management Team in this Ace Hardware is a JOKE. I used to frequent this location because it was convenient and I didn’t mind paying a little more than the big box stores because it was close to home. However, what I witnessed the last time I shopped in the store was inexcusable. I was in line behind an elderly gentleman who paid for one small item and upon exiting the store, he was stopped for «shoplifting». I don’t have all the facts behind the situation but I watched the Management have this elderly man (likely in his 80s) ARRESTED because he had a small item in his pocket (I believe it was a mouse trap). I understand shoplifting is an issue for retailers, but to watch the Police handcuff and haul away an 80 year old man for a tiny item was absolutely disgusting. I can only hope that the Manager that ordered this elderly man be arrested, is shown the same exact amount of «grace» when he is elderly. This one incident has caused not only myself, but my entire family and friends to decide to take our business back to Home Depot. Management at this location should be ashamed of themselves!!!

This is my go to place for any type of hardware or building supplies you can hand carry out of the store. Prices are reasonable and the people working there are always helpful. One plus is the parking lot is easy in easy out. More than I can say for the Home Depot lot.
My only wish is for them to stay open later on the weekends. Especially Saturdays. I don’t know about anyone else, but that’s the day I get most of my work done that needs ‘hardware’. My only option and I dread it, is going to Home Depot or Lowes to get what I need after Mission Hardware closes.

I went here on the recommendation of a friend. I was looking for paint for my daughter’s room. I was told to see Angie. I brought in the pillow case we used tFor color scheme and Angie was amazing. She spent plenty if time with me and was genuinely interested in how the project came out. I went with all of her suggestions (some of which I hadn’t even considered) and I couldn’t be happier with the way things turned out. Thank you Angie!!!

Went here the other day to get a specific lightbulb and to see what kind of large moving boxes they had. They didn’t have the exact bulb I was looking for but I got one that was similar and as far as the boxes, they have limited sizes. BUT the associate gave me suggestions on places to look for bigger size boxes. Now that’s great customer service. I will definitely stop by here first before going anywhere else for my hardware needs.
The staff here is extremely helpful and attentive to your needs. Highly recommend everyone check this place out first before going to Home Depot or Lowe’s.

Much easier than Home Depot or Lowes. If you need a specific item like a certain size bolt, pipe fitting or specialty item… this is the fastest place to go. Prices are generally competitive with big box stores. The savings in time and aggravation make it well worth stopping here for your hardware.

The BEST hardware store! Moved to the area 6 months ago… everyone said Ace was the place to go and they were right.
Every employee is extremely helpful and I feel like they help because they actually want to not because they have to.
I am a novice do it yourself gal and they always walk me through everything I’ve ever needed. Their customer service is top notch! My dad is a veteran do it yourself guy and he said it is the best store he has ever been to. He actually doesn’t mind helping me with projects because he likes our ace so much.
Also their prices are very reasonable and they have 50 cent keys that actually work… can’t beat it!
I only wish they were open until 7 on Sundays as it seems I always need something between 6 and 7 on a Sunday. :)

This is a great store in Glendora in a discreet little shopping center. Its the antidote to the zoo that is Home Depot. Sometimes, you just need to get away.
It is an especially smart alternative on a weekend when hubs sends me out for a screw or a nail. Ok that sounded terrible. But you know what I mean. I go to Ace so I don’t have to fight the DIY set at Home Depot and Lowes, not to mention their dangerous parking lots!
I have also gotten excellent advice in their paint department, which carries the Benjamin Moore brand of hoity-​toity paints. Great colors!
I also love the ACE brand of trash bags, and grab those when they are on special.
