Amazing ice cream that the entire family will love! We’ve been coming here for years and have always left happy and full. The waffle cone is perfection. My husband especially loves the slushies!

Literally the best ice cream in the world. Soooooo amazing and so reasonably priced. Their milkshakes are the greatest thing to ever grace my mouth and their sundaes make me want to die(in a good way). I wish they were open all year, but it’s also a good thing they’re not or else I’d weigh well over 400 pounds. God bless dairy bar.

I have been going to this place since my childhood and it still is my favorite soft serve ice cream. Their famous dipped cones are what to get when you come here. My favorite is the peanut butter dipped cone. The hard shell is crunchy and the peanut flavor is so amazing and strong. The ice cream is so creamy and refreshing. I also enjoy their sundaes. Such great sweetness and combination of things to get on the sundae. Best soft serve ice cream ever and their dipped cones are a must.

I’ve been coming here for years, and has been a staple in one of our family traditions. Great service and great ice cream at adorable prices. I answers get there mixed soft serve ice cream! I know the dipped cones are phenomenal as well. When I feel like giving myself a nostalgic treat I go to Glenviews Dairy Bar!

I like this place a lot. Great place to bring friends or kids. The ice cream taste sooooo good that you think i’m being paid to write this. Nope. It’s just that good. Choose between two flavors, chocolate or vanilla. Then choose your toppings either dipped or dry toppings. Yummy in my tummy.

We walk here as often as possible in the summer. I used to enjoy the dairy bar as a kid myself! Great selection and prices. Cash only.

I always wanted to try one and today I finally did it It was not expensive and I found the swirl to be no different than average. But still don’t get why people make huge lines and wait to get one. Maybe is just the tradition in Glenview.

Always very busy with good reason. Infinitely better choice than Dairy Queen, the only other franchise that stuck with this business model of the old school drive-in ice cream shop. Unlike DQ though, the stuff here tastes like the real thing. This spot also has the authentic heritage and charm too, because they’ve been at this spot in Glenview for decades. I absolutely love their milkshakes in particular. Truly a high watermark for an old-timey ice cream fix.

BESTSOFT-SERVEDICECREAMEVER!!! I love soft-served and maybe it’s because this place is family-owned that I love it so much. It’s something that is unique to Glenview. It’s this little«hut» and they do everything in there, such as making your ice cream, nachos, and cashiering. My favorite is the butter pecan chocolate coating on the outside of the ice cream. I believe the dip the cone in the chocolate and then flash freeze it. It creates this crunchy exterior. Parking is a little difficult during late night summers. They only have a few spots, and the parking is pretty compact. Also, I wouldn’t park in their lot because the seating is outside. There are a lot of kids running around, so I get nervous maneuvering around there.

My husband and i live in the area and come here often. I must have brought all my cousins here. One evening we decided to ride or bikes and because it was on the way wanted some ice cream. We don’t carry cash and were a few cents short because THEWHIPPEDCREAMANDNUTSAREEXTRA and we didn’t know. My husband said he’d go to the ATM to get t the rest. The jerk who got us responded by saying, ‘next time get what you can afford’. Maybe if your menu made more sense we would have. Horrible customer service.

Local landmark. Been around forever! Park in front or the private lot and prepare for a line but the service is quick. Right across from the library. Stopped by last night with the girls and we all had a great ice cream treat. I had the chocolate sundae with extra peanuts and my daughters got the blizzards. Walk up to order then stand around and chat or sit at one of the outdoor tables. Price is right and the treats are tasty.

Glenview Dairy Bar serves two kinds of soft serve ice cream, one 5% fat and the other fat free. The ice creams come in two flavors, vanilla and chocolate(you can also get half and half). We tried the 5% fat vanilla ice cream mixed with«fresh» strawberries(which looked more like boiled frozen strawberries), and it was so-so. Other people were ordering milkshakes and sundaes, which suggests to me that one needs the help of other ingredients to create something worth eating, since the plain ice cream isn’t memorable. This place is cash only.

The only bad thing I can say about this place is that there are too many good things to choose from! I recommend the soft serve with any hard shells and the fruit slushies! And eat fast, because ice cream melts way too fast in the heat. Cash only!

Man this place has good ice cream. Had been by/near here many times been never stopped by. Well worth it. A med chocolate ice cream cone for under $ 2.40. Wow! I will definitely coming back here many times over the summer. No more DQ. No more!

Family of 5 for under $ 12! Woo hoo! But… NOMORESPRINKLECONES… well at least not for my boys… well as long as it’s cold and they are eating them in the car. The backseat of our car is covered in sprinkles and the rears of my boys pants are covered in melted mushed colors as well. Experiment gone wrong, yeah, but the truth is it was worth it. The ice cream tastes different here. It’s fluffy and rich! There is no other way to describe it. It’s light and airy and melts in your mouth. And, according to the sign on the window it’s mostly fat free. Cones include your basic, sugar or waffle. When it comes to the menu there are so many options it’s crazy. There are various dips and toppings for days. It was super crowded when we came over the weekend, so I had to order quickly. Next time I’ll be a bit more creative. We opted for size small, not kiddie size(yep they have it) chocolate ice cream in sugar cones with sprinkles on top. Note: Dip in chocolate first and then add sprinkles. It will stay on better. I got a size small sugar cone with chocolate ice cream and peanut topping. There was a new kid making them, so mine came out smaller than my boys. I got the kiddie! I was super bummed, but summer is coming and maybe it was a hint I should only have a couple of bites. We did get a couple of dip cones and one classic chocolate/vanilla twist. All size small, and well worth it. I will be back, but next time I’ll snap a picture of the menu before I get up to the line to make sure I don’t miss out on an experimental ice cream experience! Yep, parking is crazy. Yep, it’s crowded, so you’ve been warned. Love this place. Reminds me of my childhood ice cream stop. It’s a bit out of the way from Highland Park, but for a weekend getaway, it’s worth it to have a mom and pop experience without spending a fortune!

Does«Dairy Bar» make anyone else think of Clockwork Orange? No? Ok so I’m the only ultra-violent one… Cool, just checking. My wife and I took our baby girl for a ride after dinner the other night to try and get the little one to pass out. So, naturally we needed a desert destination that was far enough away to allow the kid to go nigh nigh :) Glenview Dairy Bar pops in my head and we set off! Now, I’m a Northbrook guy, so I have been to Dairy Bar as a kid a few times, but us Northbrook kids usually stuck to the local DQ or Baskin Robbins. Well I have to say that we should have come here more often, and I am jealous of Glenview and their cute little dairy bar. For one, the prices are way cheaper. You can add a lot more different flavors and toppings that you can’t at DQ/31 Flavors. Oh yeah, and as the self procalimed«Mr. Local Business», this place is as local as it gets so I support 100%. In fact, after we came here, my mom(who grew up in Glenview) told me that my grandfather almost bought this place when it went up for sale many years ago. Thank God he didn’t, I don’t think my stomach would have ever been able to survive the constant sugar rush!

FYI that this is quite a tricky place to park considering that there are about 8 parking spots total surrounding The Dairy Bar and the lot is super tight, plus pulling out of the lot onto Harlem can be quite tricky as it is right by the busier-ish intersection of Harlem and Glenview Rd… That aside, this place serves up some service with a smile, for sure. The workers are great and, in my most recent visit to the place, had an «I’m lovin this job look on their faces».(at least the few workers helping us did! :) And the service is quite efficient! Even with long lines on hot summer days, they get you your ice cream in a jiffy! Now the ice cream itself is rather good! Hits the spot as they say ;) I’ve ordered the chocolate soft-serve cone topped/coated with their cinnamon pecans — and boy, the pecans MAKEIT. awesome variance in textures from the smooth, creaminess of the ice cream to the sweet crunch of the sugared nuts… mmmm… Their shakes are awesome too. We’ve ordered the Oreo candy blast shake and that’s always polished off instantly. As is the chocolate waffle cone dipped in cake batter: o The orange sherbet is also a wonderfully refreshing option. I’m definitely a fan of The Dairy Bar!
