Jot’s Resort

Avoid this place at all costs sleep in your car! We left immediately upon arrival. wish we had seen the reviews before we booked. Thankfully I got a refund! Oh and we didn’t find out the pool was broken until we arrived.

I really enjoy staying at Jots resort in Gold Beach Oregon! The views are stunning right from my window over looking the mouth of the Rogue River and the town of Gold Beach.
So nice to watch a winter storm rage outside from my clean warm quiet room at Jots.
The resort staff are the BEST too!!!
I won’t stay anywhere else when I’m in Gold Beach!

While some of the staff was friendly, I highly discourage anyone to ever stay at this establishment. We were out here for a wedding, and ended our stay with finding USED NEEDLES in the iron holder on the wall. Add to that a bug-​infested, unkempt room, and horrible service/​food at their accompanying restaurant. The housekeeping staff either doesn’t care, or they do not possess any degree of cleanliness standards. Horrible management. Think twice before you book your stay.

There is a new restaurant. Literally the worst place I have ever been. I don’t think there are enough characters allowed to write this full review. The waitress was horrendous. She said two words, yes and no. There is a «bar» and lounge side although there is no alcohol there. The food wasn’t even worth eating (hence, We didn’t eat it). The garlic bread would have been better if you took 3 pounds or butter off it. The popcorn shrimp was probably bought from a homeless person on the side of the road. Frozen, thawed, and refrozen multiple times. The fish and chips looked like a dragon who had massive diarrhea, shitting on a plate. There was hair (6inch) in the food and the waitress responded with, «oh ya» then walked away. Thankfully they took it off the bill, because we asked. We got the bill for $ 13.00. Then received a receipt for $ 25. I asked about it and from afar the manager says, «she added wrong» I would rather eat lava and then have to go back to this place.

Excellent service! Rode in as one of our stops on our honeymoon ride. The front desk ladies, Kris and Josie, were friendly and very helpful. The recommended eating at Spinners, and provided a 15% off hand written coupon. Very nice! The room was clean, good bedding, firm bed, and the hot tub was clean, and the view was fantastic from the back sliding glass door. We will definitely be back again, and we shall also eat at Spinners again! Pricing is very reasonable.

We checked in later at night, so it was mainly dark in the room. Gotta say, when we awoke, there is a beautiful view of the river, but it ends there. The sliding glass doors onto the balcony looked like they haven’t been cleaned in a long time, and were full of streaks. The worst was when my wife was laying on the floor in the morning, stretching out, she saw what looked to be a large glob of old flem on the wall. We wanted to eat before heading out of town, and even though there is a restaurant there, we didn’t dare eat there…

What a great stay! Everyone was so friendly, the room was generous (two sinks is a plus!), clean, quiet and updated bathroom. Beds were comfortable and we loved sitting on the balcony with a perfect view of the Rogue River and bridge. We were so pleased we stayed an extra night. NO COMPLAINTS! Would absolutely stay here again. So much nicer than the nasty room we originally booked at another location.

My family and I stayed here last night. Dated, but clean for a coastal old resort. The problems I found were that of you book on Expedia… don’t. They have completely different information than on Jot’s website. Expedia says that Jot’s is «Dog Friendly», but only a few of the kitchenette rooms are. Then, you still have to pay $ 15 a dog.
The dog walk area is fine, but people don’t pick up their poop… no surprise (unfortunately) there! We, however, carry out own bags, but there was no where to dispose of it around the grassy area… so we had to bring it back to our room. Bummer.
Our kitchenette room definitely had been designated a «pet room», because there were stains ALL OVER the carpeting. I think they are updating their rooms, and I assume that those won’t be «pet friendly». Haha. The shower was clean, but there was mold on the ceiling. Bummer. Shower head was low, but plenty of water pressure, and hot water didn’t run out. It did fluctuate with people using or flushing toilets though. The kitchen was fully stocked with dishes and utensils.
Excellent access to the dock, if you bring your boat. Short drive to the beach or shops. Good price for what we paid, and we might stay again… if every nicer place was booked again. Breakfast was bananas, instant oatmeal, packaged pastries, and yogurt. We ate at Double D’s in town. Awesome!
I would’ve given this 2.5 stars, but it wouldn’t work. So, I gave it a 2.

The rooms are 1970s chic with kitchens and spiral staircases. The carpet was filthy! I’ve never seen a dirtier floor in a hotel. The girl at the front desk didn’t want to do anything about it but someone else stepped in and gave us $ 10 off and vacuumed it. I would not stay there.

my husband and I spent a couple days in Gold Beach, to go beach combing, hiking and salmon fishing up the Rogue. We were told about Jots from our fishing guide and reserved a room. We loved the accommodations. Room was HUGE, and clean with an incredible view of the River. The staff was nice. I appreciated the laundry facilities because we were on a 10day road trip through Oregon. I would stay here again.

Awful. Dirty, old, Internet doesn’t work. People are nice but if you need anything «nope, can’t do it» and no customer service. Need something? You go back and forth to the office. No help from them.

Altho the location, on the river, is wonderful… the condos we’ve experienced the 2 night we stayed aren’t so wonderful.
1^st one they gave us keys to had not been cleaned. Old, stinky carpet… filthy! Trash in trash cans, etc. We went back to the front desk & they gave us the condo next door. It was a considerable improvement, but stinky-​musty. Not just «damp on the coast» musty… not deep cleaned in awhile & has housed smokers stinky-​musty. Full «ashtray» on the deck… dishwasher full of dirty dishes… and pile of bat guano on deck! Yes… lots of bats here!
Resort has been here for years, but needs a LOT of updating & maintenance.
For $ 200 a night for a 2 bedroom/​1 bath condo… we were so very disappointed.
Gave 2 stars… 1 for the view & 1 because the guy at the front desk was nice! But we won’t ever be coming back!

I give it 2 stars only for the price… I would of rather stayed at a near by motel for $ 15 more… The drain in the shower was clogged. I stood in about 3 inches of water… I won’t complain about the smell as it is on the ocean so it’s expected to have a little moldy, old folks home kinda smell… Went to crab some tissue. There was none… There were numerous bleach stains in the carpet throughout the room… The lock on the sliding glass door, well I’ll say a little jiggle and anyone could get in… The toilet, you have to gold the handle down to flush… I would rather stayed in my truck then pay what I payed for an «ocean view» motel…

There is a new restaurant Saltwater that opened as part of the Jotts Resort. We went there for dinner and received awful service and food. The waitress acted like we were a nuisance and brought a pitcher of water to the table because as she said «if it got busy she wouldn’t be able to help us» I looked around and there was not one person in the restaurant.
The clam chowder was spicy, our food arrived with the wrong order and I had to ask to have the meal that came after everyone elses to be comped. She was irritated we asked for it free.
I would not recommend this restaurant at all and never plan to return!

Great view. That’s where the one star is earned. Throw into the mix the dirty room, the crappy bed and the tweaker party next door that involved loud music, stealing of all the chairs on the 2^nd floor balcony and general chaos at 2am and you get the picture. When I called about the noise, the clerk tells me «I know him, he’s a nice guy, let me talk to him» so obviously it was a friend he rented a room to in order to party. Avoid this decaying relic like the plague.

We had a great time at Jot’s. We are from brown, crowded, So. Cal and staying at Jot’s was exactly what we needed. We loved our room with it’s great view of the Rogue River right where it meets the Pacific Ocean and not to mention the BEAUTIF
UL bridge!!. We spent a lot of time watching the wildlife along the river, deer, raccoons, lots of different birds – right from the chairs in our room. The price was right, and we found the staff to be excellent and very friendly! Gave us all sorts of tips on what to see – where the best breakfast places are in town and generally just made our stay better. They were very accomodating when we needed to add my daughter who joined us up there from Humboldt CA. We had such a great time and enjoyed our stay so much that we are hoping to move up to the area in the future. We didn’t get to fish because the fish weren’t «in town» that weekend (the staff let us know ahead of time and did not try to sell us something that wasn’t happening at the time, which I really appreciate!!)But next time we go, and there WILL be a next time, we will catch Jerry’s river speed boats from right outside our room door and try that adventure next time.
All in all, we had a wonderful, quiet relaxing stay. Thanks Jots!!! You guys are the best!!! So glad we didn’t stay on the main drag in GB !!

Fantastic view, great prices. Cons: spider webs ask over the place, even woke up with one in our tub. Very old décor, smells musty, the complimentary shampoo was half empty so obviously from the previous occupant.
Other than that it was okay. We had no other option but this place as everything else in town was booked, but I probably wouldn’t have selected it myself.
It’s not horrible, but not excellent either. Price is great, view is great.

Gold Beach is a small coastal town that thrives on tourism and peak fishing seasons. Due to the Spring Salmon run, my parents and I stayed here for 3 days to do some fishing.
Jot’s isn’t a 5 star hotel at all. Not even close. I’m kinda struggling on this review… let’s do some Pro’s and Con’s…perhaps that’ll get the creative juices flowing…

When we got here on Thursday, our rooms thermostat was turned up past 90! I’m pretty sure we saved that damn place from burning down. I know it was an accident, it was clear they meant to turn it off, however our room was uncomfortably warm the rest of the night. Even after cooling the room down for 4 hours.
Saturday when we got back from fishing, housekeeping decided to replace our box of tissues, however neglected to replace amenities, throw away trash, or make the beds. That wasn’t too cool…
I give them 3 stars because I really did have a good time here. It was relaxing and extremely fun to watch the marine life live it up in the river. 4 – 5 stars would’ve been earned if they had some nicer rooms, better gym, or proper housekeeping. 3 stars it is!

Yuck! They need some serious remodeling. Room felt really gross and not so clean. We actually decided not to stay here right after we walked in! Sorry, Jots.

My opinion of this place comes with mixed reviews. While I love this resort for all of the memories I share with my family, I have had some negative experiences, too. My family used to go here once every year for our family reunion, and went here for over 10 years. It is a great location for the random little area that is Gold Beach… but the treatment and lack of appreciation from the staff is what ended up making my family decide to stop coming here.
The PROS:
–location. It is located right next to the Rogue River, and only a quick drive from the beach (you can even walk, if you want).
–condos were GREAT! They were so fun and as kids we would all have so much fun hanging out in our room, playing hide and seek, eating lots of meals together, etc
–penthouse was nice – this was the nicest place in the resort (of course). Only negative is that it was above the main office.
–indoor pool, hot tub, and sauna. Rain or shine we always were able to go swimming at this place!
The CONS:
–the staff. We came here for many years, and never felt like they truly appreciated our business. They were never very friendly, and always felt like in a way, they dreaded us coming (we were a big family with lots of people, including lots of kids – which can get loud, I understand). Really, this is the only negative I can think of, but it is the reason for my 3 star review. I wish they learned to appreciate (or at least show their appreciation) for their return guests!
**the staff issue only applied to the office staff. The maids were always wonderful and friendly!
