I’m devastated. I’m hovering between rage and depression. I took my most favorite purse here to see if they could do anything to help the handles. I’ve had this purse for 3 years and the handles were getting worn. They took a look and decided for a steep price that they could indeed restore them. Little did I know that restoring meant painting! They painted my leather purse straps! Even worse they do not even match the purse and my leather straps feel like plastic :(my beautiful camel colored purse now has dirt brown plastic feeling straps. I am so sad. If you really care about your item don’t bring it here.

I would not recommend this business to anyone. First, the owner wanted to charge me 50 percent more to put a lift on one shoe. Reluctantly, I agreed to give him the other shoe which had a perfectly good lift Three weeks later after fewer than 20 hours of wear, the nails on both lifts started popping through the center. When I brought them back, he refused to fix unless I paid him more money. Fortunately there are options, but they are located in Grand Rapids city and not easy to reach. I have tried mail in services on the Internet and got much better value for my money

Much as I would like to patronize local business, I did not have a good experience at Cascade Shoe Repair. The workmanship was not good and their prices are too high for the level of work they do. I had a pair of penny lofers repaired because the area near the toes tore. All he did was put a patch inside and glued it. That thing came apart on the first wear. I paid $ 50 for that work.
I brought it to Mieras later and they sewed it up and I think I paid $ 10. That was a few months ago and the shoes have held up. Since then, I’ve been going to Mieras for any shoe repair needs. So far, very good work and you can’t beat the prices for repairs.
