Delicious and high quality from scratch baking. I love their spice cupcakes, pecan rolls, delicious bread and their chocolate chip cookies are the best I’ve ever had. I’ve ordered many cakes for special occasions and they’re always moist, tender, and delicious. Haley is great to work with. Oh and the croissants are the best I’ve had outside of Paris – they shatter in your mouth. Try the ham and cheese filled croissant.

Sugar Momma’s bailed me out! Having never ordered a cake before, this was all new to me. I called on a Wednesday and needed a cheesecake for my fiancé’s birthday on that Friday. When I called, I spoke to a very nice lady on the phone(I didn’t catch her name). She stated that although it was short notice, she would be able to process my request. My fiancé really wanted to chocolate or turtle cheesecake. Being later in the week, they were all out of turtle, but did have a chocolate swirl. She suggested that she could add caramel and pecans on top to make it more like a turtle cheesecake. She went above and beyond to ensure that I had a happy fiancé on her birthday and that is the type of service that is hard to find these days. Not to mention, the cheesecake was OUTOFTHISWORLD! One of the best I’ve ever had. Sugar Momma’s saved the day and I will be sending everyone I know there for their baked goods! Thank you!

Life too stressful and pressured for you? Have nightmare neighbors, a %$$#!% for a boss, and your mother-in-law in residence? Then head for Sugar Momma’s for a «Mental Health Day.» Grab a cinnamon chip scone or some chocolate chip cookies and kick back and forget what those Sugar Nazis say to condemn such food. You won’t find a better spot to forget your troubles than this place. Everything here… and I mean EVERYTHING… will make everything fade away. Do yourself a favor. You deserve this place. Stop by soon.

Tried their cinnamon rolls, chocolate chip cookie and M&M cookie. The cookies are worth coming back for and I’m pretty picky about chocolate chip! The cinnamon rolls I would pass on, they weren’t anything to write home about. I will definitely be back to try out their other fares.

A really nice find tucked into the eastern end of 28th street — they have a great selection of baked goods and tasty treats that will tease your taste buds into submission. The customer service is great, and they have really solid prices.

Picked up scones for a work meeting. Everyone asked where I bought them! Prices seem a teeny bit high to me but everything was delicious. A local business that I hope expands.

Unimpressed with this, my first trip to Sugar Momma’s. There were a few positives. The shop appeared well organized and offered a comfortable atmosphere, staff readily provided answers to my questions and the baked goods displayed looked incredibly good! But when it came to the gluten-free brownie I ordered, it all went a bit wrong. An assortment of cookies and brownies in varying colors greet you from display cases as you enter. After being presented with their many gluten-free options, I went with their recommendation for a GF dark chocolate brownie with a raspberry preserve filling. Delicious looking as it was, I grabbed some plastic silverware and took a seat. For starters, the brownie was so hard I couldn’t cut it with the plastic knife provided. Ok, try again… well now I’m just bending the knife. No problem I figured I’d just pick it up instead. It’s a brownie right? Well it was so dense and incredibly sweet on my first bite that I had to put it back down. Another sample bite or two and I’d had enough. Maybe it was what I ordered?

OMG!!! That stands for Oh My Gooeyness!!! First off, the customer service at this place is great. I had a somewhat large(12 cinnamon rolls, 4 stick buns, and 4 muffins) that I needed for a 7:00am meeting. I called to find out when they opened and learned it was not til 7:00. The owner agreed to open form me at 6:30 and have my order ready so I could make my meeting. That alone was fantastic, and will make me come back. The real reason, I’m going back however is for the super fresh and good baked good. The Cinnamon rolls were great, as were the Pecan Stick buns. If you need some baked goods(and who doesn’t) make sure you stop here.

Sooooo good! All of their pastries are heavenly gourmet foodgasms. I have never been willing to eat so much sugar and not care about my inner thighs until I met this bakery. The cheesecake will make you melt. The coffee isn’t bad either! Every time I have been in this bakery I always get very polite and print service– despite my indecisive drooling face. I wish I could bring everyone here and host a tea party sometimes so people could understand all that is Sugar Momma’s Bakery!

Do you like Nantucket Bakery? Then you will love Sugar Momma’s! Haley is the owner/manager of Sugar Mamma’s and the previous manager of Nantucket Bakery. She branched off and has a delectable and unique selection of breads, cookies, scones, pies, cupcakes, and cozy drinks on 28th street near Cascade. Not to mention, they have soups and sandwiches. Sugar Momma’s has it all, folks! This was the last stop on our Bakery Tour of Grand Rapids but we all had room for one more goodie. I had the Signature Sugar Momma hot chocolate, which was toasted marshmallow cocoa. It was great on a cold day. I’m going to go back for their cookie dough balls. I’m not sure that’s what it’s called but my friend bought it and it looks like a blob of cookie-dough meets a no bake cookie. I had a snibble of it and fell into a happy, sugar coma. They have a seating area as well, which was nice because several of the bakeries we stopped in didn’t offer tables or chairs.

We have ordered a birthday cake(red velvet), a chocolate peanut butter pie, and dessert bars. All three experiences were wonderful! Thank you for providing a high quality bakery with from-scratch ingredients. We are happy to have you in GR!

This is THE bakery for all your needs! Haley’s cakes are worth a trip across town & more. My faves: strawberry whip for warm weather & flourless chocolate for cooler weather. I am not a cake lover ordinarily but these are over the top. Other faves: morning glory muffins, beautifully decorated sugar cookies, pecan bars & Wednesday pretzels. Save some of the good stuff for me!

I’m a dessert-aholic. I love nothing more than trying a new bakery… and judging it. I don’t mess around with judging either. If it’s a new cupcake shop, I don’t try one – I try five. Just to be sure, you understand. Sugar Mama’s was no exception. Here’s what I sampled: –Strawberry cake pop –Chocolate cake pop –Molasses cookie –Brown sugar spice cupcake –Magic bar –Peanut Butter bar –Ham & cheddar sandwich –Italian soda Now, before you judge me too harshly, please know that I had help with all of that, I promise. So here’s the review: EVERYTHINGWASAWESOME. The cake pops and cupcake were moist and rich. The Magic Bar was decadent. The peanut butter bar, for you PB fans, will knock any peanut butter and chocolate candy bar out of the water. And my surprise favorite… the molasses cookie. I bought that for my dad, and took a not-so-discreet nibble. Yeah, it never made it to him. I wish I had another one right now. The sandwich was tasty, fresh, and made with delicious homemade focaccia. And if you’re thirsty and just can’t handle a sugar-filled drink(of which they have plenty) you can get a sugar-free Italian soda. I had a peach one, and it tasted like summer. Bottom line: Go here. Gorge on deliciousness. Then send everyone you know to do the same.

There are no coincidences. When a parking lot resurfacing caused me to find a detour on a recent visit to my hairdresser, I found myself glancing across the street as I waited for traffic to clear. My gaze was drawn to four large flower pots ablaze with bright pink florals. And then I saw the moniker… Sugar Momma’s. I just had to check the place out. Located in a strip mall in Cascade, this fairly new bakery features an eye popping array of fresh baked goodies ranging from cinnamon/pecan rolls, various varieties of cookies and cupcakes, fresh baked scones, specialty breads, and delectable cakes. The bakery also has an attached café where patrons can stop by for a meal or select from their extensive menu of specialty drinks. Anyone who knows me, knows I love a good bakery. So, when I stopped by for my second visit within a week(yes, the baked good were that good), I was surprised to hear my name. It was none other than the owner, Chef Haley… in my opinion one of the best pastry chefs in GR! What a delightful surprise. I had missed that special touch from her days at Nantucket. If you like fresh baked goods, often with a creative twist, you’ll love Sugar Momma’s. Pleased as peaches to see this spot open up!

This place is the the cause of the extra 10 lbs. I’m dragging around. LOVE their scones & especially the peanut butter bars. We special ordered a carrot cake for my Dad’s birthday & he loved it! Red velvet cupcakes are always a hit & my kids always ask for cookies from here. Try the Bosco & Peanut Butter. Coffee is very good, and their focaccia is to die for. Have not yet tried any of the soups. They offer a chocolate vegan muffin & several gluten-free«treat» options. Owner introduces new things with different seasons — the marshmallows dipped in chocolate at Christmastime were so much better than any other marshmallow I’d ever had. Pumpkin scones were great in the fall. She also has some beautiful tortes & cheesecakes I’m eager to try sometime.
