Mark A Michna, DDS

My family has been going to Dr. Michna since our old dentist retired about five years ago, and I can’t imagine going to another dentist. I’m at the age where I need crowns on a handful of teeth due to poor dental work decades ago, and I’ve heard horror stories from friends that have had crowns fall out and/​or break. I have total faith with the quality of Dr. Michna’s work, and would feel uneasy having any other dentist working on my teeth.
And he has a great team as well. I’ve had Chris help me figure out how much to put into an HSA account (planning for my next crown), and they’re always patient with scheduling/​rescheduling/​payment. And the hygienists are also great; very professional, good at what they do, and friendly (and empathetic when needed).

I drive from Novato to Greenbrae to have cleanings and see Dr. Michna.
The hygienists are all wonderful and thorough.
Dr. Michna doesn’t push unnecessary procedures and one feels a great deal of trust in his skill.
He has done a few filling replacements and one crown over the last 6 years. Each time he showed me exactly where the problem was and why a procedure was needed.
He is as good if not better than the Dental practice he purchased several years ago.
Like I said, I drive from Novato to Greenbrae to get great dental care!

I have been going here for many years and never had a problem until now. The front office is completely disrespectful and unprofessional. They don’t even let you see the doctor if you have a question for him. As the other reviewer said, it is IMPOSSIBLE to get through to this office. The secretary, Christina, treats you like garbage. She will yell at you, and talk over you if you call the front office to ask about an appointment, etc. Their appointment reminders are via post card which is completely outdated and unreliable. They will not call you or email you about your next appointment, so be prepared to pay the missed appointment penalties if you don’t receive mail or it «gets lost.»
If you want to have terrible service and be treated disrespectfully on so many different levels, this is the place to come. Furthermore, if you want the worst customer service ever provided, then go right on in here. Worst doctor’s office ever.

Dr. Michna and his staff are absolutely amazing from start to finish. From ease of scheduling/​rescheduling appointments, efficiency and speed of all dental work (cleanings, X-​rays, crowns), overall knowledge and acumen, to their high level of client service. This practice is top notch.

My experiences at this office have been less than pleasant. Scheduling is a nightmare and phone calls are never returned. I recently had some more work done, and he appeared to be in a hurry, and did a substandard job (as evaluated by other providers). He is not approachable and it seems that his other patients are more important (they don’t call you back because they are too busy, they don’t have an appointment because they have too many patients, he rushes through his work with you and does not take his time because he has other patients). I am disappointed because I had heard great things, but my only sense has been that I am a second-​class patient and that my patronage is not wanted in this office. I have given them a year to make improvements and show me that my negative experiences were isolated incidents. Sadly, the longer I stay, the worse it has become. If you want a «celebrity» dentist with an ego to match, he is your guy. If you want an office that cares about you and shows it in their interactions with you, this is not the place to go.

He has been taking care of my entire family and a host of my friends for years and we are all sooooo happy with our experience. His professionalism along with his terrific «chair-​side» mannerism and the overall results are fantastic. His staff is great, and if you live in Marin his office is easy to get to and parking is great. Don’t hesitate any longer. Call his office and see for yourself. I can’t imagine you will not be grateful.
