We’ve unfortunately lived here for over a year and are currently looking to break our lease. The workmanship in the building is horrible, we called the super to fix our wood floor and someone used a circular sander on it. The reason we called the super is that our floor was splitting and beveling in random spots. So now our floor has large odd circles in it and weird mismatched dots from where they drilled into the floor to stabilize it. They also sealed in spots of dirt, pieces of plastic, and hair, which is disgusting. These spots aren’t in the reworked parts of the floor, they were there when we moved in. I’m not a pro, but I know you’re supposed to clean the floor before you coat it in layers of polyurethane. The butcher block counters aren’t properly sealed so they get marks on them extremely easily. Our windows don’t function properly, so we just fixed those ourselves. The cabinets also swell in the summer so they can’t be closed. Also, there is constantly construction in the building. There has been a 30 yard dumpster outside for over a year and a half. If you think you can take a day off and relax think again because there will be workman in and out from 7:30am on. Also, they aren’t making improvements to the building, they’re just turning all of the 2+ bedroom apartments upstairs into studios and one bedrooms to make more money and cram more people in. Sometimes people throw loud parties that spill into the hall, which is kind of annoying after 4 hours. The management company sucks. I wanted to adopt a second dog and they told me I couldn’t. When I told them that wasn’t in the lease and there are quite a few people in the building that have 2 dogs they told me they don’t have to let anyone have pets(even though they advertise as a pet friendly building) and that if I had gotten a dog and not told them it wouldn’t be a problem, but since I asked they were saying no. That was a bit bizarre. So yeah, don’t live here unless you want to overpay to live in a poorly put together, tiny apartment, with bad/apathetic management.
