This is the club all the other Williamsburg clubs should have been– good sound, good location, reasonable door/security, friendly staff, good booking. Maybe the sound isn’t as great as Output, but the douche factor is way, way lower. I did see two bouncers playing catch with a football out front one night, however, and a stray toss smashed some patron in the face. The sound was priceless. Conveniently located above a TD bank and across from a police station. I don’t know man, Greenpoint is weird.

I’m a real estate agent & a developer, building communities, interacting with people are my passion. I attended an event(prince celebration) at The Good Room, on 6÷7÷2016 to say the least, the service wasn’t good. I went to the bar to order a drink, I asked the bubbly young woman if she had a Cava or anything sparking, dry or white. She made a face as if something smelled bad & shook her head, flipped her hair. Before I could say another word, she made a B line to the white dude & kindly took his order. She never gave a second look, I was quite puzzled by her behavior. I the asked another bar tender if there was any wine, she said she woks check. Success I thought, but it wasn’t. She picked up the bottle of Pino & asked her colleague to open it, he then, put his mouth to the bottle & opened it with his teeth. I was horrified, she then came back to and attempted to pour. I told her never mind & she asked way… Unbelievable!!!

Why, fog, why? I went to a night that should’ve been fun, but I couldn’t dance for longer than ten minutes because the fog machine kept spewing smoke into the middle of the dancefloor. I headed to the bar then bathroom, but both areas were super smoggy too. Same with Bad Room. Finally I headed outside to clear my lungs, where I found everyone I’d dance with hanging out. The fog machine had cleared the dancefloor. You could actually see the fog leaking from the front door outside — which is down a flight of stairs and past the coat check. I get a little atmospheric smoke, and if this were a well-ventilated venue I’d sortof understand. But Good Room doesn’t need to pump fog onto the dancefloor till dancers start coughing and moving to the seats, or outside for some fresh air. One of my favorite DJs was playing there till close, but I was outta there by 2:30 — just couldn’t breathe easily anymore. I’ve been to Good Room a few times, and I don’t mind the venue otherwise — but if I’d known they’d gotten so fog happy, I wouldn’t have bought a ticket.

The coat check here is dreadful. I lost my ticket(totally my bad!), but then was shamed by the coat check people for not having it(e.g. «ticket — coat. see, that’s how it works»), and told I couldn’t have my coat back until close at 4am. This was a super cold night — 15 degrees. After waiting around and arguing for a while, they agreed to look, but couldn’t find it. I then spent about 2 weeks trying to contact anyone at Good Room to see if my coat had turned up, and no one responded. Had to buy a new coat. Won’t be returning.

Went to my first GoodRoom show last night to see bands. Gotta say, after years of seeing bands at Europa, i dig the layout of the smaller, more intimate side performance room. Bonus points for fog machine, Chauvet LED lights, and green room with door behind drummer. The beer selection(nothing on tap, only Tecate/Stella/Red Stripe) could definitely use some work. Bring back the great Polish beers that the neighborhood loves! There’s indoor smoking here, some might not like this. Will probably never go to dance club show here, but would like to put on a live band show here.

Came here for AMTRAC on Friday and it was okay. The crowd was super grimey though. The sound system is good but I hated the FOG machine. It just made this place super icky. Really unnecessary because it brings down the venue. The drinks were expensive but decent for NY prices $ 12 for vodka/soda. There are two rooms. The smaller room was actually really dope and I wish AMTRAC was in there. The big room just got very crowded and was super humid. I would consider coming back if they just stop with the stupid fog machine.

Do not pay here with a debit card. My total bill was $ 43, I left a nice tip for the bartender, $ 20. They charged me $ 83. If you use a credit or debit card, they may overcharge you a lot. If you do pay with one, save your receipt. I’m sure this venue pulls this on many people.

This place is definitely my new favorite spot. I moved to the area recently and I love the fact I can just walk over. Output use to be my go to place for music and dancing, but the crowd there has gotten a bit dodgy. Anyway, back to Good Room– inexpensive cover, cheap drinks, good service, and a lot chill crowd. I liked the smaller room(Bad Room) as it wasn’t as packed and the music was 10x more amazing than the main room.

«But we are girls and don’t want to pay to get in.» — said in cute Japanese accents. My first time here was to see Hot Chip’s DJ set. I missed out on the $ 15 advance online ticket sale, then the line for at the door sales just wasn’t going anywhere. Not even for the cute Japanese girls. Luckily someone needed to unload 3 tickets. Unluckily, I wasn’t able to haggle down from $ 25. I might have been able to hardball it, but I really wanted in and it was raining. Okay, you’re an adult. You do adult things like drink. Step it up a notch and pay the lousy 3 bucks for the damn coat check. It’s hot as balls in there and do you really want to spend time that could be spent dancing your ass off, keeping an eye on your coat? Or having PBR spilled all over it? No. Get all your drinks first thing. You have to pass it to get to the main room anyway. And fighting the crowd with drinks in hand is not fun. The bar is understaffed, but the bartenders are friendly and quick. Or you can do what Mr. Smooth did… Offer to pay for my drink if I ordered all of his. He got his drinks in no time flat. Capitalism is grand. Again, IT’S HOTASHADESINHERE. Pro-tip: if you stand near the seating area by the DJ booth, it’s MUCH cooler. The sound system is super focused out onto the dance floor. So if you sit at a table and order bottle service, you’ll actually be able to hear each other speak. I don’t think the seating is policed either, so you can plop down whether you order or not. The main dance floor gets unreasonably packed. There’s a second, smaller room, but I didn’t hit it until 4AM and it had emptied out considerably. I had better luck dancing along the edge with the seating, but like I pointed out, you don’t get the full force of the music that way, and none of the bone rattling bass. People smoke in here. It’s as simple as that. They do other things in here too. But don’t be the asshole chick waving her cigarette around like she’s Bette Fucking Davis. Keep the lit end towards you and inconspicuous, because they will throw you out if you get caught. Overall, a very good dance club… if you can make it out onto the dance floor to get the full experience of the music. Or if you’re a pro like Mr. Smooth at getting drinks.

Good Room, one of my favorite clubs in BK! Lines can get a little hairy but it usually moves fast. Come on an off night for an even better experience.

There are two rooms; the main ballroom and a smaller one by the bar. We stayed longer at the smaller room because the music that night was more upbeat. We arrived at 11pm and the people started pouring at 12mn; the music improved by the time the place was packed. Incredibly packed that people were literally just standing and not dancing. They allow people to smoke indoors which is convenient during the cold seasons but not really safe. Almost got my coat burned from the people smoking beside me! Cover fee is $ 20. Bring cash so you don’t have to suffer credit card minimums.

Good Room is my favorite venue in all of New York. Why? From the bartenders to the acts they book, everything is simply top notch. Cover charge is extremely cheap, and the door price is never ridiculous if you didn’t buy a ticket ahead of time(typically $ 20). It has a massive dance floor that has more than enough room to move around, even on a packed night. The lighting is dark and minimal, with a disco ball in the main room. The Bad Room is the side room and my favorite part about the place. It usually caters to artists that play more mellow music than in the main room. It’s small and intimate and the vibe in there is usually awesome. The drink prices are actually pretty cheap, a Tecate was $ 6. Tip your bartenders well here because they are the best, kindest, and funniest people I’ve ever had serving me drinks. They also have pitchers of water with cups at the bar which can be acquired for no cost. Thank you so much for doing this! They care about their customers and it shows. Don’t ever change, Good Room! Stay beautiful. Left there last night from Voices from the Lake. Incredible Bunker party!

Honestly, they had good music but the place stunk of cigarette smoke. They let people smoke inside. I asked the manager to have them put them out but they blew me off. What a nasty club. Dirty and stinky. Never coming back.

this is a Good Room(or two rather) lots of place to dance, a room to sit, and staff seems friendly/competent/no hassle of a place. There’s a big dance space and a smaller one and I went on a gay Friday. Yay! I would definitely come back wif the squad

I was here last night for the DFA party. Long story short, I like this place but it’s not somewhere I would see myself coming unless I really wanted to see a certain show. Granted a lot of my cons were due to how crowded it was, so on a lower capacity night it could be better. Pros: — Décor was really cool. I like when small clubs divide the space up into different rooms so there are places to sit. — The sound was amazing. You could hear well wherever you were and there wasn’t any sound bleed between the two rooms — The security is not tight. A few people/the artists were smoking inside which could be a con to some, but I felt it made the atmosphere a bit more convivial. Cons: — The place is not designed to deal with capacity crowds. When we first arrived it and there was room to move around it was pleasant, but within what seemed like 30 minutes it was impossible to move around — Well drinks were $ 9. That’s at least $ 1 – 2 too much for a place like this. Especially when you are getting the tiny plastic cups, and you are paying $ 30 to get in. — Bar staff was hit and miss. Some were very efficient, but one person took my order and then forgot about it twice, even when I flagged him down to remind him. He was literally standing in the corner talking to the bar manager. I finally asked someone else to make them and got them right away but the whole ordeal took about 40 minutes.

Love this place. The main room has plenty of space for dancing, and the bad room mixes it up with harder music. Yes, there can be long queues for the toilets and the bar, but that’s standard at any club. I just wish they would get better ventilation for the main room, because for large bookings, the room can turn into an inferno. More air conditioning!!! The place that sets this apart from the two clubs down the street in Williamsburg is the crowd though. Everyone is friendly, and there to listen to good music and tunes, and to DANCE. Those other clubs can feel like drug dens full of creepers sweating profusely and getting handsy, but the Good Room has such cool people, and an AMAZING vibe. P. S. Dear bros, this place is terrible and please don’t ever come here. Greenpoint is a waste of your time.

Came here for the Desert Hearts party in early May, which was full of good vibes. This was my first time at Good Room, and my first impression that it was different enough from all the other venues in the city, which was refreshing. The layout is cool – the bar is pretty big with three long sides for easy access. Free water pitches and cups were abundant, which was so lovely(and for this, they get an additional star.) I’m always a fan when there’s two separate rooms – especially when they’re seemingly close but not polluting each other’s sound. It was particularly warm and sweaty in the big room as the night went on, and the bathroom lines do get long. Beware: around 4 a.m. a girl in our crew went to smoke a cigarette and she wasn’t allowed back inside. They were very strict about this, so just keep this in mind as the night goes on.
