History

Established in 2014.

Greenwich Salad Co. began when I visited a local salad shop for a quick and healthy lunch after a work out. Walking in ravenous and leaving unsatisfied, I began mulling over why fast food has to be either completely unhealthy or, in a word, mediocre. I quickly brought my husband, Joel, and my best friend, Jaime, in to my musings: Why can’t a salad be healthy, filling and flavorful? Why can’t a shop bring in the freshest, highest quality ingredients and still make their product affordable? Why can’t a salad and wrap shop be a place you recommend to family and a fun place to hang with friends?

As athletes, Jaime and I are committed to keeping ourselves in the best shape possible, something we are learning becomes a bit more difficult with age. And because the importance of eating right has become such an obvious and recurrent issue in today’s world, our desire to be healthy and fit just naturally extends from our families and friends to the community and world around us.

We want to make your decision to eat right an easy one. Our ingredients and taste profiles are carefully picked to deliver a flavor punch without calorie overload. Try a Yankee breakfast wrap with egg whites and oven-​baked turkey bacon; our chipotle ketchup will wow your mouth and not your waistline. Order a Mexi-​Cos Cobb salad and ask your chopper for a taste of our Jalapeño Ranch; fresh herbs and non-​fat Greek yogurt make our designer dressings craveable and low-​fat/​low-​cal. Ask for a taste of our Chunky Chick Pea Gazpacho or Roasted Red Bell Pepper soups; our rotating soup selection is made in house so we know exactly what goes in to them to make them good and good for you.

At GSC, we strive to be different. Because of our background in fine dining, Jaime and I have an obsession with quality and service, something we find lacking in many places we visit.

We went to Greenwich to do some shopping and walk around. Not knowing where to go for lunch, we proceeded down the sidewalk and noticed Greenwich Salad. Well, we love salads and wraps, so why not? We were most impressed by what we had. My husband had a melt, and my son and I both had wraps with chicken, and they were delicious. We are wrap aficionados and very particular. We were really happy with our choices, and the size of the wraps were decent. The parmesan in my caeser wrap was actually shaved parmesan. We would highly recommend this place for a wrap.

I’m not a salad person but decided to give this place a try when I saw on the menu that they had wraps I could customize. The wrap was a good size for the price, and tasted good. I also like that they specify on their dressings list if a dressing is dairy-​free. If I’m in the area again I would come back here.

My daughter and I were in Greenwich on Mother’s Day and after we finished our errands, we stopped at the Greenwich Salad Co to pick up some lunch to take home. We ordered two salads and a wrap for my son. When we got home we sat down to eat together. I took my first bite of salad and it was underwhelming because the dressing was bland, but by the third bite I actually had to spit it out. It tasted like there was dirt in my mouth — not sand, like when the lettuce isn’t cleaned enough, but dirt like when the lettuce is old and on the verge of getting moldy. My daughter said that her salad tasted «weird»; it was a chicken caesar salad which she orders quite often from different establishments so she knows what it should taste like. My son was surprised to see that his was a lettuce wrap and not a wrap-​sandwich, but that was our own fault for not reading the menu more thoroughly. However, although he said the fillings were fine, he told me the lettuce looked bad. When I looked at it, you could see black speckles on it as if the lettuce was old. I advised him to go ahead and eat the inside as long as he was sure it was okay but to leave the lettuce. By the way, my children are not young. They’re both mid-​teens and so we’re not dealing with a young child’s complaint of salad. They can definitely tell if something is bad.
Another reviewer said they gave the place 5 stars to make up for someone else giving them 1 star. I think they should mind their own business since this place is clearly not consistent and each of our opinions is based on our individual experiences there. His true rating should have been 4 stars. They’re lucky they’re getting one from me, but of course I wouldn’t be able to post the review without it. This was really a disappointment.

love their sweet potato bar. its an awesome filling lunch in the fall/​winter. soups are pretty good too. the salads are ok… pretty much the same as the other salad places around here.

Salads are pretty boring and overpriced. But the real issue is quality control — I’ve ordered from here a few times and they got my order wrong both times. The second time I actually found a large piece of plastic (about 1 inch wide) in my salad, which I promptly threw away and decided that it’s worth letting others know about this place. I’d avoid if I were you…

«The Harvest» stuffed sweet potato was a great lunch on a cool fall day. The sweet potato itself was delicious and it was the size of a football! Stuffed with chicken, Apple, cranberry, corn, etc… Should have shared because it was enough for two, maybe three.

I want so badly to give it 5 stars because the chopped salad offerings around here are abysmal in terms of service and selection and I want to like Greenwich Salad so badly, but I keep on finding dirt in my broccoli and I can’t get over it! It saddens me because they offer a delicious turkey bacon, but now I’m starting to dread my first bite in fear that I’m going to feel a loud «crunch» as my teeth grind on dirt. Not cool.

Very fresh and delicious salads and wraps. I made my own salad. They had every kind of green you could want plus avocado, artichokes, chickpeas etc… My husband had the Islander wrap. It had freshly seared tuna and greens. He said it was good. I tried a sample of both gazpacho’s. Both were good. I also liked that they had olive oil and lemon juice for the salad, not just dressings. As a side note it was a cute downtown shopping area., very quaint spot. If I had more time I would’ve strolled around a little.

This is kind of a nice and frugal lunch for me and it’s a skip and a hop for me from work. The have quite a bit of salad topping options and can’t go wrong. It’s an ok spot if you’re kind of on the go. Lunch time is a freaking madhouse and it’s just bustling with folks.
I’m not a fan of crowds especially, people hovering over counters, aside from the hoards of people, it’s a doable spot.
Service was speedy and friendly.

Their bagels are super fresh and delicious. Always order in the morning. You can customize the salads and wraps. It’s good to call and order ahead and pick up or order on their website. I like the Tuscan Melt wrap. I’ve never had their soups but they look pretty fresh. A lot of healthy options.

I would really give them 4 stars (it’s difficult to think of giving quick, casual places the same 5 stars that go to some upscale place), except I wanted to make up for someone who gave them 1 star because it was no longer the business that used to be at the same location. Goodness!
This is my new go-​to place. I like their coffee (I’m not a Starbucks person) and I LOVE their egg sandwiches in the morning and love the juices and everything else I have had and I like the people, too! Hope they are around for many, many years!

Great salads and I loved that there were heaps of fresh options to choose from. I got a kale base with roasted red peppers, grilled chicken, olives, tomatoes, oranges, and edamame and it was pretty solid. The Mrs. got an omelette with bacon and cheese and she loved it as well. All around good place for a healthy lunch.

Easily the best salad place in town. The staff is always extremely friendly. I’ve never felt uncomfortable once when ordering my long and convoluted salad combinations. They actually care when tossing your salad it’s always perfectly dressed. They have tones of topping options that they break down for you on the menu into categories so it’s not so overwhelming to put together your own creation. It is priced the same as any of the chains like leafline and chop’d. I could talk good things about this place for ages! If you want a good salad with FRESH ingredients skip the chains and come here.

Not having ever been to the location in person, and only just now ordering a salad to be delivered; I was very satisfied. I ordered my juice and my salad online which was pretty painless. I’ve gotten used to all the salad places in Manhattan so I am probably a little spoiled when it comes to salad creation. However again the salad here was delicious, and the Green Machine juice tasted incredibly fresh.
The one thing I will say for delivery, is that it took a little bit too long. However the food made up for the slight delay in delivery.
Looking forward to changing this review to five stars when I get a chance to visit the location in person!

Having been open for a year… the food has gotten much better.
The best thing about this place is their employees. Specifically Charlene AKA «Lene» and Tiara. They were running the booth at a recent Chamber of Commerce event.
Excellent brand ambassadors and just plain friendly people. I’m advocating a raises and promotions.

There are a ton of places around to get salads, this place is one of my top-​tier favorites. Why? The food is awesome, the décor is beautiful, the people are nice, and the prices are good. 1) Food. They have a wide selection of fresh greens, veggies, proteins, cheeses, homemade dressings. You can mix and match the salads as you like. The staff chops them up if you want and presents it however you choose. Delicious and healthy! Haven’t tried the wraps but I expect they’re great. 2) Décor. Bright, clean, sunny, pretty space with great windows to the avenue, nice details and plays good music. 3) People. Everybody’s been very pleasant here that I’ve experienced. That’s harder than it sounds — props to the whole staff. 4) Price. I had a small (very generous size for a small) customized chicken salad and large iced tea and it was less than $ 10. Large salad will cost a couple dollars extra but still a great deal. Given the super fresh ingredients I always feel great after eating there. Ok enough of my raving… check it for yourself, I think you’ll like it!
