History

Established in 1944.

When Robert Winston and his teenage son, Maynard, first wheeled their pushcart of flowers onto Boston’s fashionable Newbury Street in 1944, they could not have foreseen that this humble enterprise would flourish and grow into a widely respected New England business that would one day be named «Florist of the Year» and a frequent «Best of Boston» award-​winner.

Today, the third-​generation, family-​owned company run by David and Ted Winston is one of the nation’s most highly regarded florists, with a worldwide online presence and seven shops throughout New England, including the one right where it all began, on Newbury Street. With more than 65 years of experience and a reputation for award-​winning florals, memorable special events, breathtaking plantscapes and warm, friendly service, Winston Flowers is not only one of Boston’s oldest florists, they are one of the country’s leading and creative designers touching clients in Boston, Greenwich, CT, New York and beyond.
