First two times great food. Third time, ugh. I had the ribs which were so greasy and no meat. The eggplant with garlic sauce also very greasy. Also, the bag was soaking wet as the container top was not put on properly. I could understand if they were busy but… the place was empty. Darien rents are high perhaps they are having a hard time making ends meet. This would also affect service as morale would be low. Good luck Steam! Hope you can turn it around.

First time ordering here. Timing was great! The pork dumplings were amazing and so delicious. I ordered the Japanese Organic Miso soup with Sichuan Beef. It’s not bad noodles are cooked to perfection but the soup doesn’t really taste like a typical miso but it’s still pretty good and the beef could be a bit more tender but still good. I guess it just lacks a little bit a flavor by not bad for my first time. The only disappointing thing was I order the«lunch» one and it was suppose to come with a spring roll but never got one. Other than that definitely not bad and will order again in the future but I hope it’ll have just more flavor and I get my spring roll.

Scallion pancakes and soup dumplings are good. Dan dan noodles were terrible, not actually dan dan noodles though the braised beef they put in it was good. Please just make a beef noodle soup! And don’t call this weird ramen dan dan noodles, there is nothing dan dan about it

I’m not a big Chinese food fan, so take this with a grain of salt. The food here is very good, and service spot on. More attention on how the customer will bring the food from the plate to his/her mouth is needed. The chopsticks, silverware and porcelain spoon are confusing and neither handles the size of the dumplings and other appetizers well. Be prepared for eating with your hands and to scoop up fallen food soldiers.

It was okay. Middle of the road. Food seemed fresh which is a positive, but flavor wasn’t awesome. I’d be willing to give it another try.

This is my first time ordering from steam and I wasn’t impressed. I was very excited because when I received my food it looked amazing, it was nice and hot and ready to be enjoyed. When I cut into my sesame chicken, however, it was mainly breading and tiny pieces of chicken. It also lacked in flavor. My crystal shrimp dumplings were good, better than the chicken. I may order from here again to see if I can find something better. The other dumplings sound appealing.

This restaurant, if you can call is that, has THEWORST service I have ever encountered in the US. One place I went to in France probably takes the cake, but that’s another story. I ate here often because it was pretty reasonably priced and the food was decent(although greasy). But no effort to remember me as a good customer, and then when I brought family to the restaurant and they were busy, they were flat out rude. Grumpy, over-busy, over-rated. Successful because price point is low and there’s no other Chinese food on Greenwich Ave. Avoid — drive for a few minutes for something better. Btw, they have a $ 30 minimum for delivery even if you live a few blocks away which is totally absurd. And they get aggressive if you challenge them about it.

Rejoice! Chinese food lovers –Go get your chopsticks, because Steam just cooked the competition straight out of the wok. When my friend Cory told me that Steam was the Jordan Speith of dim sum, I pictured greatness, youth and Sichuan Dumplings. Hole-in-one, Steam. Tonight I got take-out for one(FML) but I felt better after I scarfed down what was close to a ¾ lb. portion of vegetable lo mein. Scallion pancakes? On fleek. Even my dog Parker, who HATES Chinese food, went berzerk for the wok sauteed snow pea leaf(although I will be cleaning up his chunder all weekend) — worth it. My fortune — «The man on top of the mountain did not fall there» I think we all know who the man on top of the mountain is– it’s Jordan Speith. Wrong. It’s Steam. And thank god they deliver because I don’t care how delicious the dumplings are, Im not climbing a mountain to get them.

The soup dumpling were subpar. The size of the dumplings were larger than I expected but the soup to meat ratio was kind of off. Too much meat and not enough soup. Plus a few of our dumplings came to us busted so we were really able to enjoy the soup in our soup dumplings.

Oh. My. Goodness! We just ate the most delicious lunch in ages. I rarely stop to write reviews online(good or bad) but our experience was outstanding. We promised to tell 20 people. The Vietnamese salad was sweet and delicious. The coconut shrimp — unbelievable. The curry chicken, outstanding. My only regret is that I’m full.

I ordered for takeout. Very quick great prices good food. I ordered chicken udon noodles and vegetable lo mein. The noodles were cooked to perfection and seasoned perfectly! I dream about having these noodles again and am happy that the location is close and affordable!

I was hesitant to go here due to the recent negative reviews, but I ate here for dinner and it was really good. Probably the best shrimp dumplings(dim sum) in the area. We also had the chicken satay, coconut shrimp and fried udon noodles w/veggies. Would definitely go back to try the other things like the bao or ramen. Service was fine and they were attentive.

Pretty cute dim sum place. Came here at around 3−4pm, so the place was empty, and had the crystal shrimp dim sum and pork dim sum. Both were delicious, and I HIGHLY recommend the crystal shrimp dim sum! We got our food fairly quickly and the service was fast. Nice vibe, would definitely come again!

Dan Dan Noodle. That’s what I wanted for lunch when I visited on New Year. I wanted my first lunch of the year to be awesome and put a huge smile on my face. Sadly, it was a huge let down. Restaurant was pretty empty when we arrived. There was another couple there. Upon entering the restaurant, a waiter who stood in front of kitchen area just pointed his finger directing us where to sit. That wasn’t a warm welcoming by my book. I already wasn’t please. A waitress(who was much friendlier) brought us menus. We both decided to go with noodles; Dan Dan Noodle with braised beef and Malaysia Laksa with BB ribs. Dan Dan Noodle — Looked delicious, but omg. wait for it … SOBLAND and greasy. Broth was coated with grease from braised beef. Braised beef was the best part of my lunch. At least beef was tender. Malaysia Laksa — Very watery bland. There was hardly any taste to the broth, worse than my Dan Dan Noodle. Just very disappointed. I wanted to ask for salt to make both of our noodles tastier, but no dice. None of the waiters didn’t come near us and ask to see if we needed anything. It is a cute casual restaurant, but seat cushions were pretty dirty from all the food spillage. Too bad food just weren’t tasty and on top of it all, it was a so-so service. I would skip this Asian fusion restaurant if I ever want a bowl of noodle again, and would just walk around the corner to a Thai restaurant instead.

Haven’t had the food here because they don’t deliver to Port Chester. They are less than 2 miles from my house and I live across the street from Greenwich on the border. They refused to come. I might have to pull an Elaine.

Food: I ordered beef ramen, pork dumplings, and white rice. Both the ramen and dumplings were scrumptious; fresh as can be. The rice, however, was nearly stale and just not very great— now normally I wouldn’t comment on the rice, but they gave me such a small amount of rice and actually charged for it!($ 1.50) Atmosphere: the food was served on traditional-style plates so I was happy about that. Although they were playing pop music relatively loud, which gave off an odd eating experience. But then again most of the people eating there looked younger(17 – 23) so maybe the restaurant is tending to that age group? Money: the prices were all pretty high, except for the dumplings — $ 6.50 for 6! As I was paying, there was another couple sitting a few tables over, and I guess they forgot to put the tip on their bill when they paid with credit/debit because as they were leaving the head honcho brought up that there was no tip. Now, I personally think they should’ve tipped, but it was also a pretty rude confrontation… All in all, the food is 4 stars, everything else just doesn’t come off as 4.

While Asian fusion has become something of a bad cliché in the Northeastern suburbs pan — Asian restaurants are another matter. Steam’s menu covers Chinese Thai: Vietnanese and Malaysia specialties. Four of our dishes were from the Chinese idiom. Pork shu mai, Szechuan dumplings, Snow pea green dumplings, and crispy duck. The dumplings were well executed and savory. The duck, served with four crepes scallions and hoi sin made for a quick Peking duck experience. Our second entrée, a Vietnamese salad of mango cabbage peanut and cilantro, was refreshing on a hot day. There was a bit of chili flake but a little more seasoning was needed. We’ll be back for the fragrant Szechuan beef, whose aromas, wafting from the table of a large Filipino family, enticed us.

*This review should really be no stars* What happened steam!!! We were seriously addicted to this place up until yesterday. We’ve eaten in the restaurant a several times and ordered lunch on a weekly basis. Every time we call to order lunch for delivery at work, they either don’t have a driver so we have to pick it up or we get a major attitude from the person on the phone. They even got our lunch box wrong a few times. We let it go since we do enjoy the food but when we picked up our lunch yesterday, my coworker was ignored and when finally greeted, she was given attitude like we were bothering her for picking up our food. To top it off, they gave me the wrong lunch box, AGAIN, and she found hair in one of her Vietnamese summer rolls. Ugh. We should’ve taken a picture of it but we threw it in the garbage so fast… GROSS!!! I wouldn’t recommend this place anymore. Such a shame…
