After Care Cremation & Burial & Family Memorial Mortuary opened in 1999; with the idea of providing families an opportunity to honor their loved ones in a dignified manner. We have witnessed the ever-​rising costs for any type of funeral, memorial, graveside service or cremation. We believe you should have the opportunity to honor your loved ones, in a dignified manner, without going into debt to do it.

We operate out of a smaller facility, a wonderful Victorian home, so we can have lower overhead. This gives your family financial savings. We offer you unique funeral services and related products in a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. Family Memorial Mortuary is a fully licensed funeral establishment in the State of Oregon and can provide cremations, embalming, viewings and small services for 20 – 30 people at our location in Gresham. We have several other locations available for your use during larger services. Just ask us!

History

Established in 1999.

Aftercare Cremation & Burial Service was purchased in 2005 by Steve and Shelle Wells. We are located in an updated Old Portland home, offering arrangements in a casual setting (our house or yours), and an alternative to high cost cremation and burial. We are known for our compassion and willingness to think outside the «funeral» box.

Business Owner

Steve completed his funeral service practitioner licensing from the Mt. Hood Funeral Science Program in 1996 and has owned his own business since 1999. He lives in Eagle Creek OR, where he is an active member of the community and his church.
