History

Established in 2000.

Michelle started sewing at home with her mom Glenna who has a Teaching Degree in Home Economics. After working in two alteration shops, Michelle opened her own studio in 2000, specializing in Custom Garments and Bridal Gown Alterations. In 2007 Michelle attended the Art Institute of Portland taking classes in textiles, pattern making, draping, design, fashion sketching, and more. The studio, located in downtown Gresham features garments we have custom created as well as displays for your viewing pleasure. Michelle has over 25years of experience creating and altering Bridal Gowns, and 35 years experience sewing and crafting.

I started sewing in professional shops at age 16. I love the sewing and alteration business because you get to make clients look and feel their best whether its a favorite pair of jeans and a t-​shirt or a bridal gown or tuxedo. When your clothes fit properly, you just feel better in them and it is a confidence booster. Who doesn’t want to look their best? With over 25 years experience in professional shops, not just home sewing, with the combination of alterations and custom construction as well as being a member of the Association of Sewing and Design Professionals and a former student at the Art Institute of Portland, I have more experience than many in my field and a group of professionals to network with if I am unable to do a job. If I cannot help you with your sewing needs, I’ll try and find someone who can.
