Specialties
The Cub Inn currently features five guest rooms — each with its own warm and inviting décor and a cozy quilt on each bed. Each room has a queen-size bed with its own private bathroom and shower. The Inn has a large library for those folks who prefer spending a leisurely day on the expansive deck to read a good book, soak up some sunshine and take in the beauty that surrounds the Inn.
We’re in the Sierra Nevada Mountains at 3000 ft. msl and strive to keep the place clean and dust free, however, we’re in a alpine forest, with four kitties, one Bull Terrier, chickens, foxes, coyotes, raccoons, numerous deer and the occasional bear — so, if have severe allergies you will want to consider them when choosing a place to stay at Yosemite — simple over-the-counter allergy meds seem to work for most.
History
Established in 2009.
The Cub Inn opened in April 2009, and is a life-long dream of husband and wife team, Charleen Beam and Joe Riley. Both Southern California natives, Charleen, a UC Berkeley graduate and 20-year veteran in sales and marketing, is a licensed pilot who flies a Piper Cub, and Joe is a retired mechanical engineer and a commercial-rated pilot who has flown for many years, both in the military and as a private citizen. Ask him some time about his helicopter experiences in Vietnam…
Our dream was to build a log cabin and turn it into a Bed & Breakfast. But we wanted to offer something unique — not just your typical B&B! Our mission was to create an informal atmosphere in which our guests would feel comfortable enough to put their feet on the furniture — as if they were in their own home, and take in the beautiful nature and peacefulness that surrounds our three-acre setting.
