Specialties

We are a 5 star luxury B&B serving a full breakfast every morning with spacious rooms and lanais (balconies) overlooking the gardens and the ocean.

History

Established in 2010.

We homesteaded this property from a bare lot starting in 1977. The main house was built in 1983 with extensive use of recycled Douglas fir salvaged from the Naval Air Station in Kahului. The doors and windows were built on site from the roof truss materials.

The landscape trees were hand selected and all the tropical flowers chosen for their exotic beauty. Since we are solar powered and use only pure rain water we are considered a «green hotel». We use no pesticides or herbicides anywhere on the property so you will see many wild birds in the large yard and around the four plus acres. The view of the ocean from the upstairs front rooms is serene when you are sitting on the marble lanais covered by large overhangs, protected from the elements.

We are going on our 5th year of business and have enjoyed a lot of popularity since we have a variety of rooms and cottages in different price ranges, all offering the clean quiet surroundings of this natural setting.

Meet the Business Owner

Chris and Susan G.

Business Owner

We came to the Hawaiian Islands in 1971 from the east coast on vacation and loved it so much, we stayed. Our first home in the islands was a large sailboat which we sailed to Maui where we married, had 2 sons, bought land in Haiku and proceeded to hand build all the dwellings which now constitute Windward Garden B&B. After raising our family here and watching our sons start families of their own, we decided to become one of the first fully permitted and insured b&b’s, opening our doors to the public in 2010. We have enjoyed sharing the culture and lifestyle of this beautiful Island, making breakfast every day using our own fruit and other locally grown ingredients, serving it on our spacious front porch and meeting the guests who make the long and adventurous trip to Maui. Many of our guests are from Europe, Australia, and Canada. They love the unspoiled landscape, quiet nights and starry skies. They have called us the «un-hotel» and described it as a «little slice of paradise».
