My name is Sergey Stotskiy, the proud owner of Kapriz Hardwood flooring. I pride our company not only on our extensive knowledge on the wood and materials we use, but also on the interpersonal relationships we’ve built with our clients throughout our 14 years in business. I decided to venture out and start my own business after working as an installer for big flooring Company. My time working as an installer gave me the foundation I needed to become a professional in this field. Being in business for such a long period of time and working my way up from ground zero has truly allowed me to specialize in what I do, and has fine-​tuned my knowledge in the field. This allows me to truly tailor my work to each customer’s personal preference, style, and budget. Our dedication to our clients has led to a great network, consisting of repeat customers and referrals. My husband and I are without a doubt, completely satisfied with the service and quality we received from Kapriz Hardwood Floors. We found them to be extremely professional and knowledgeable in their field. We scheduled an appointment for an estimate and then went to the showroom in Half Moon Bay to see what was available. Sergey, from the showroom was very helpful in assisting us with selecting the right product for our needs. Michael Mirsakov and his crew came well equipped with top quality equipment to do a first rate professional and detail oriented job. The entire process was performed in a timely manner and with ease. Michael genuinely cared about what our needs were and always kept in contact with us to keep us abreast of the progress and to let us know what we to expect each day. We could not be happier with the quality of workmanship, their dedication, professionalism and reliability we received and experienced. Michael was very thorough and patient with all of the questions and concerns we had and we especially appreciated how he and his crew were able to work to install the hardwood floors around our two dogs in the house. I am not in the habit of posting reviews of any kind, good or bad, however felt compelled to do so this time due to the fact that good, hard, honest and excellent quality work deserves to be recognized. Kapriz Hardwood Floors has been by far the most beautiful and best selection of wood flooring that I have seen. I was going to use Home Depot but couldn’t find anything with the color or quality that I was looking for. After a month of searching, my sister, who lives in Massachusetts, found Kapriz online. I went to the showroom in Half Moon Bay (easy drive from SF), and found what I was searching for. As another reviewer commented, the showroom floor is amazing! When I walked into the showroom, I could actually see what a wooden floor, on an actual floor, could look like. What a brilliant idea! I knew then that I would probably be able to find the color and texture of wood flooring that I imagined would be beautiful for my condo. I finally found it at Kapriz! This was a huge comittment both financially and aesthetically and Kapriz fit the bill on both counts. I was given samples of flooring that were 2′ by 2′ which enabled me to see what the wood would look like in my home. We live in Pacifica and have ocean views so I wanted something that would give a relaxed yet elegant look. I didn’t need to look any further. Not only is the showroom impressive, but also the workmanship of the installation was top notch. Sergey is an honest businessman and believes in quality which proceeds his good reputation. I highly recommend Kapriz… look no further!

Kapriz Hardwood Floors is an excellent source for hardwood flooring on the Coastside offering a wide range of material options and great pricing. They have an impressively wide selection of hardwood and engineered flooring and are extremely knowledgeable about all the various options. They were very patient and worked with us on the quality, type of wood, style, and look that we wanted– all within a very reasonable price which met the constraints of our budget. Kapriz timed the delivery of our material to our construction needs, and were flexible with us and our primary contractor in terms of schedule. Sergey and Jay were friendly and easy to work with. They were able to show us both work in progress and finished jobs which allowed us to evaluate the quality of their work. If you’re looking for a complete hardwood flooring source you should definitely consider Kapriz.

We are very pleased with the work and price from Kapriz! I am fairly particular with carpentry work since I have done a lot, myself. Their work exceeded my expectations.
Sergei and his team are great to work with, and the show room has great selection.
We had four companies review the house and bid. Sergei came out on top based on his professionalism, price, and credibility.
The floors we had refinished had carpet put over them 40 years ago, and were in generally good condition, though had some pet stains in a few rooms. We also had to have new floors installed in two rooms that did not already have wood.
Sergei and his team brought the old floors back to better than new shape, and matched the new floors seamlessly with the old. He as also able to remove nearly all the pet stains– something we never expected. And also trimmed out the floors to the kitchen and bathrooms, as well as the fireplace.
Sergei also gave us good recommendations for areas to save money, and others for quality vs cost savings. I feel we made good decisions based on his input.
I’d do work with Kapriz again.

I just moved houses and the flooring in here was terrible carpet and we needed to get all the floors done before we moved in (two weeks after closing on the house) We went into Kapriz –http://​www​.kaprizhard​wood​floors​.com/ the flooring showroom by the post office here in Half Moon Bay and met with Sergey (the owner) (415) 271‑3819. He had lots of selection, and some great prices. To be sure we went and got a few other quotes from a company over the hill and another local firm. Kapriz’s prices were about the same as the company over the hill and I opted to buy local. We bought an awesome engineered hickory product at a darn good price. Sergey was on site each day checking on progress. When we had an issue he would be here inside 15 minutes. We had a change order and added about 350 square feet and he gave us a good deal as his guys were already here. All in all I am super pleased. My wife is pleased –our floors and new stairs look awesome and we supported somebody who has invested in Half Moon Bay.

We had Kapriz install new hardwood and also refinish existing hardwood across our entire upper level. From the first contact with Sergey through the final post-​installation follow up, Sergey was extremely attentive, detailed, professional, and very nice to work with. He and his staff at the store were very knowledgeable about hardwood selection and finishes, and helped us find the best for our home. His pricing was very reasonable and a great value. The crew was also very experienced and worked efficiently. They did a great job matching the old hardwood with the new so that it looks consistent throughout the house. Carpet was laid over the hardwood floors for who knows how long. The carpet needed to be replaced or removed. Decided to take a chance and have the carpet removed and see what it would cost to refinish. Obtained bids from 5 contractors.
Gave the job to Kapriz because he was the lowest bidder and because he had very good reviews on Unilocal.After the carpet was removed we found a 18″ x 18″ hole in each room. Our guess was that the holes were from the original heating vents. Kapriz said he could take care of it. The floors came out great, can’t even tell where the holes were. The workers did a great clean up job. Kapriz was easy to work with.
Can’t ask for anything more. They did a great job and for a very reasonable price.
Will definitely use them again and have already referred to friends.

I was searching for someone to install new bamboo hardwood floors in five upstairs rooms along with the stairs being redone. I had about four estimate in total. Sergei was prompt in returning calls and scheduling the appointment. At our appointment he pointed out certain things that the other people didn’t. His price was competitive with the other estimates, So I decided to choose him for this job. His team of workers are very professional and precise. First step was to remove the rug and baseboards which didn’t take long. Next day, he sanded the steps and started with the bamboo wood in the rooms. After doing all the rooms with them looking great I decided to do iron posts on the stairway along with the sanding and redoing the handrails. Those turned out great as well. All in all, the Job was done and it looks fantastic! I would recommend Sergei of Kapriz Hardwood floors to family and friends. Thank you.

After a botched DIY job on my new house’s hardwood floors, I was in a bit of a panic to find a company that could finish the job in 6 days as I had a moving van coming out the next weekend. Saw Sergei’s reviews on Unilocal and figured I’d give him a try. His quote was very reasonable (I’d gotten two others) and he assured me he could finish the job in time. He did just that, and the floors are more beautiful than I imagined. And he was careful to mix the stain to exactly the color I wanted. One note: if you have baseboards you really want to protect, you may want to mask them before hand. The painters tape used to mask mine lifted the paint at the floor-​line. It wasn’t their fault; the paint job was clearly not well prepped and it just peeled off. I totally recommend Sergei.

We hired Sergey to remove our 9 year old carpet and install a new hardwood floor, he came in to measure the floor and gave us a reasonable estimate, so we hired him to do the job and we are so pleased and happy with his work, he arrived on time and gets everything done as we wanted, our floor and stairways looks fantastic with his hardwood installation done and he even hauled the old carpet and the old paddings! Hi hired Sergey to remove the carpet, and stain and refinish the wood floors to match the rest of my home. I left town for a few days while he worked, and when I returned the floors looked fantastic. He was able to match the color of the rest of the house better than I expected. What I appreciate most is the he did quite a lot of repair work, including replacing boards without trying to charge me more. He quoted me a price, and did everything he felt necessary to make the floors look as good as possible without coming to me with a list of things that would cost more money.

Kapriz has very high quality products to select from in its traveling showcase, followed by professional installation. We are extremely pleased with the results. Sergey’s recommendations for our entryway and stairwell were great. The results are amazing, making a previously outdated and ugly tiled entryway into a warm, welcoming and beautiful home. We will be calling Sergey again on our next remodeling project.

After seven years of enduring a vile and smelly carpet we decided to put hardwood floors in our living room. We hired Sergey and his team at Kaprez Floors. We did this based on the good reports from other Unilocal users. Sergey is a business-​like man who keeps his word and only hires craftsmen to do the work. I am proud of my new floor and very happy with he and his team. I might now add that he has hired Igor Nakoleav to do tile installations. He is a great worker and I am thrilled!
