The Moving Factor

My wife and I had been looking for a good moving company, we called different companies that came recommended by friends, family and even co-​workers. Only one company topped that list.
The Moving Factor has been a pleasure to deal with for start to finish. The lady who answered the phone at the office was pleasant and informative. Sean the owner of the company came to our home and gave us an estimate and beyond being very professional he is a hoot and very personable.
The estimate we received was a Not To Exceed and it was right on the money. The guys that showed up on the morning of our move were on time and did a splendid job protecting our belongings and even put Masonite on the floor to protect it. The crew was respectful and accommodating and very easy to work with. They connected our washer and dryer and did not leave until we were sure that everything was fine on our end. Highly recommended and we will definitely use them when we need movers again.

Our recent move with The Moving Factor was excellent! The crew was professional, courteous and on time. We could not have been more pleased. They had given us a «not to exceed» price for our move before they started and the move was accomplished in that time. Great company, great service!
We had a rather involved move, which included an apartment and a storage unit. The Moving Factor really knows their business. They took charge of the storage unit, got it loaded on one truck while the crew with the second truck was wrapping and loading our apartment. The unloading into our new house was done with no damages and certainly within the time frame they had given us. We’ll recommend The Moving Factor to everyone!

We used The Moving Factor to move us twice. The first move was 45 minutes from our prior home. The second move only 5 minutes away. They are dependable, detailed, personable, hard-​working and use caution as they move the items. I’ll never use another company. The owner is extremely hands on and his staff handles the scheduling with great care and attention. They’re the only company I will use and recommend.

These guys were amazingly fast and wrapped everything very well! Excellent service! I was very worried about my 65 inch curved tv but they did an excellent job wrapping and trasporting it. Was a huge gamble on my part but I’m glad that I expressed to them my concern and they took care of my baby :) I think that they take their job very seriously because everything was meticulously wrapped. I will use them again in the future for sure!

I highly recommend The Moving Factor. Shawn was very professional and detailed when he came out and gave us a quote. They called two days before like promised. They arrived on time and were ready to work. The best part about this company is that they have a guaranteed not to exceed price. This was very important to me knowing that the price would not exceed that amount. Great job guys!

BAD Experience! Moved two miles, had 13 damaged items, and one that never made it to the house. Don’t believe them when they say everything will be wrapped up, and they will make two trips with the truck so they don’t have to stack furniture. I added a pic of my 60 inch TV stiiing on the ground, on the street, in the cul-​de-​sak, and a pic of my black cabinet that went missing, as its being loaded on the truck! And to think they were my highest bid, because I wanted done right! Sean Factor, the owner, wanted to try to fix the damaged stuff with color pens for furniture, and sandpaper (for a scatched stainless steel refirigerator), you can guess how that worked out…

I’m checking in to see where we were at on the missing black TV cabinet and the refrigerator scratch. I found a picture of them loading the TV cabinet (sideways, on end) onto the truck if that helps. Unfortunately the area that you had sanded/​buffed out on the refrigerator to try to repair is still very visible, in addition to the original scratch. I think that $ 250 for both the cabinet (which cost me $ 200 a year and a half ago), the refrigerator (a new skin for that side of the door, uninstalled, is $ 180), and the 11 other items that were damaged is more than fair. I still need to repair the wall dent in my entry, and I prefer to have my dining room table repaired be a repair company, as it is a $ 2900 dining room suite.
–After them not wanting to pay me a more than fair amount. I sent this. Understand that at this point, I was selling-​out for $ 250, so I could get on with my life…
The missing TV cabinet was only 1.5 years old, basically a brand new item. To replace it, I’ll need to spend $ 200 again. Do you think I should be responsible for that cost? I am being honest when I say that the TV stand never made it to this house, and that I saw it go on the moving truck. {namedremoved} or {nameremoved} can vouch for my character, I really never received that piece of furniture. This was not an inconvenience, or damaged furniture, it is missing furniture. I have a picture of it being loaded on the truck. I’m still ending up paying about $ 1200 for my furniture to be moved, not counting the 13 damaged or missing items. I really think $ 250 is more than fair, considering the events surrounding my moving experience. If you were on my end of this move, experienced what I did, would you think that $ 150 credit on 13 damaged or missing items was fair compensation? I know this affects your profit margin for that move, put it should not be at my expense. Please reconsider this, I don’t want anything to escalate/​continue with this any more than you do. We’re only talking about $ 100.

No need to submit a lengthy review. Service was top notch, constant communication throughout the process from start to finish. Nice, friendly guys, got the job done a lot quicker than I expected with NOTHING broken or scratched, or scuffed. They actually paid careful attention to detail when wrapping items and taking them down the stairs. Would HIGHLY recommend them. Will use again when the time comes.
FWIW, The Dallas A-​List IS credible, regardless of that that other Unilocaler thinks. It’s never steered me wrong, and it accurately reflects the opinion of tens of thousands of people in the DFW Metroplex. Not surprised these guys were #1

I used The Moving Factor to move into my new place in August. A few things that I was really impressed with:
There was a bit of miscommunication on the front end about what I needed to do to schedule my move. I booked well in advance, or at least thought I did, and called in a week before my move to confirm, and had a bit of a freakout moment when they told me I wasn’t on their schedule (partially my fault). But what impressed me is that they went out of their way to make sure I got a crew anyway, and fairly last-​minute. Points for customer service right there, because they just as well could have blamed me and left me stranded until they could schedule me again, which would have been really costly, not to mention annoying.
Also, the movers were really friendly, professional, quick but careful, and worked very hard, even in the sweltering August heat. I purchased a Groupon voucher that included two hours of their help (which, if I recall correctly was really only 1hr30min after «travel time» was deducted), so it was fairly important to me that we got done within that time period, and that was done with no problems at all.
I definitely recommend using them.

When making last minute arrangements, you tend to think you may have to settle for whatever you can get. Wow, was I wrong. After finding them on Unilocal,I contacted Sean right away. Sean and his staff went out of his way to get us a crew on a Sunday before a Monday holiday. What great customer service! Even better, when Adrian and his 3man team arrived on time (early even) they were friendly, efficient, and professional. They got the job done well within the estimated time and were extremely careful with our belongings. I could not have asked for a better experience. Thank you The Moving Factor!

Amazing Moving Company. I hired the Moving Factor using a Living Social deal for 2 movers for 2 hours and it was well worth it. The movers loaded up all the furniture from my old location quickly and transported it to my new location (over 30 mins away) and unloaded within the 2 hour time frame. I was extremely impressed by how quickly & efficiently the movers worked and I intend to use them for all my future moves, with or without a Living Social deal. If you live in the North Texas area, you cannot go wrong with these movers! Highly recommend!
