I wished I read the reviews closer.

IN MY OPINION, I’ve experienced better customer service. AAA completed a repair on my washing machine. I posted a review about my experience. The owner responded to my review, accusing me of defamation. I just received a letter from her lawyer demanding that I remove my review and addendums. I have obliged. But again, in my opinion, I received better customer service from Lanny Adam’s Appliance in East Point.
Apparently, posting your opinion of your experience with a company via an online service whose purpose is: To connect people with great local businesses (as taken directly from «About Unilocal») is only acceptable with this business owner if your experience was positive.

Eric was awesome! He fixed my ice maker problem, as well as a refrigerator fan problem I didn’t even know I had (which will save me LOTS of money on energy bills). He showed up on time and was very personable. If you live in the Atlanta area, I highly recommend All Area Appliance!

Arrived at my place late, made several rude and condescending remarks and did not fix my appliance… but of course charged me.
Pick this repair service only if you are looking for the ‘All Area’ service… An appliance repair (maybe) that also comes with few free insults.

My less than two year old washing machine suddenly decided to develop a mind of its own, so I called All Area Appliance. Kerri worked with me to find a time that fit my schedule, and Tony showed up to figure out my apparently super complicated LG washer. After a bit of diagnosis, he realized that an electrical surge had fried part of the control board (side note: who knew my washer was more complicated than my college desktop…) The part had to be ordered from overseas, but showed up within 4 days and Tony returned to install it.
Long story short, I’m thoroughly pleased with Tony, his professionalism, and his actual desire and interest to figure out what was wrong. He had never encountered several of the different features on this washer (therefore making repair a bit more challenging), and it was refreshing to see someone genuinely interested in their craft. It’s not often that you encounter people who sincerely care about their work. I can’t speak to the negative experiences of others because mine was all good!

I read good reviews about All Area Appliance from Kudzu and Unilocal and I liked that they had a $ 9.95 service call fee. But I did not have a positive experience. The technician did not have the parts and he wanted me to pre-​pay for the entire job before he ordered the parts. Finally he agreed to accept only the service fee for now and remaining payment at job completion. Then he said ‘that works better for me because if I find some other problem while I’m in there, I’ll just add it on’. They may be fine technicians, I can’t rate their competence. But I won’t find out because I’m not planning to do business with them.

Tony Tony Tony! He was amazing! He came to fix my undraining washing machine and did so quickly and cleanly! It was a mess! Then I had another malfunction… NOT RELATED!!! He came back this morning and was sitting on my porch waiting on me to get back from taking my daughter to school! WAITING ON ME? How many times have any of you said THAT! He fixed the second problem and I love this company!!! Call them for all you Appliance needs! ASk for TONY! He’s great!

When my washing machine suddenly decided it wasn’t going to drain water, I did a quick internet search and discovered the culprit – a defective lid switch. Now, I’m normally a pretty handy kind of guy – my long history of taking apart my childhood toys has given me a basic understanding of how many things work; so I tried to apply said knowledge to the lid switch, which I promptly broke off of the washer housing. Well, the switch was still working, so I tried to fiddle with it to keep it working… and then broke the electrical components inside.
And thus, I called All Area Appliance for help.
I placed my call at about 8:30am or so, and the kind person who answered the phone took my details and the details of my washer. She then said that she should have someone out «before noon,» which, in the age of scheduling cable appointments and waiting-​all-​day-​for-​Rooms-​to-​Go-​to-​deliver-​a-​damned-​mattress, was refreshing.
Even more refreshing was when the service tech, David, showed up at 10:20 or so, especially after All Area had to call me back to fix a transposed telephone number. David would then go to fix the washer in the most reasonable way possible after asking me a few questions, determining that excessive repairs wouldn’t be cost-​effective for the eleven-​year-​old appliance.
And aside from the time savings, that alone is worth five stars – that an appliance repair service would go out its way to save me some money is definitely worth repeat business when my things inevitably fail.

I don’t want to go in to specifics (I’m an idiot), but I had All Area Appliance come out and fix my fridge again (I’m an idiot). Eric called about 10 minutes before the window of time closed to let me know he was on his way and would be a bit late. I think it took him another 20 minutes or so by that point. Once he arrived my fridge was magically working (I’m an idiot). Eric was cool about it and the lack of brain cells only cost me $ 10.

This has got to be the worst repair service in Atlanta… After charging me $ 236 to replace my defrost heater we discovered the our freezer light bulb went out… it was working fine before the technician worked on it. We followed his instructions to defrost the fridge and not use it for 2 days and we are still having the freezer not cool intermittently and when I called the company up…
1. They could not help me without my invoice, they have no way of looking up your acct by name or number!
2. When I did call back with the invoice I kept getting their voice mail. Even after leaving 3 messages no one called me back and the lady Kerri had the audacity to tell me I never left any!
3. I had to call using my out of state cell before I could get her which makes me think the company was avoiding my call.
4. For a front desk person this woman had no customer service skills whatsoever and kept insisting that since the service call wasn’t for the light bulb they were not responsible for any cost associated with it even though it was working before the company technician worked on that section of the fridge. If I could give zero stars I would.
5. All they could agree to do was send the technician out again tomorrow between 11am –2pm so if they resolve this in professional manner I will redo my review but for now their service and attitude suck!

Contrary to what the Fed, HGTV, the banks, the guv’mint, your parents, and your neighbors tell you, owning a home kind of sucks. Even taking out of consideration the crappy housing market, what few people talk about in reference to home ownership is that you are now responsible for a very finicky, very expensive pet. Sure, it’s all warm and snuggles when it’s good, but when it’s bad, when it needs a bath or a walk or, say, an entire set of new windows, you’re a 6-​pack away from reenacting the final scenes of Ol’ Yeller.
Yeah, yeah, SOME people get all Yankee Workshop and live for the DIY; they craft snazzy hutches and neat-​o additions and «hey, look at this walk-​in closet I made from a 2×4 and Ikea furniture scraps!» Fucking overachievers.
Meanwhile, the only thing *I* can make is a phone call.
So when my fridge iced over like Victoria Beckham’s vagina, I knew I needed to call in the cavalry. Appliance repairmen? Honestly, Unilocalers aren’t big into appliance repair. Sure, they’ll go on for 200 reviews over whether burger is best served on a Kaiser roll or not and whether it’s worth that extra $ 1, but reviews about some of the most expensive things in your life? Nada.
Still, I posted a talk thread. A few kind people answered but it was Stephie Z’s advice that I took. And dammitall, was it good advice.
First of all, All Area Appliance is billed as ²⁴⁄₇. I never took them up on it, but when I called on Sunday afternoon to change the initial contact number on the work order from mine to my wife’s, someone answered and cheerily changed the number. They quoted me a seemingly fair price. (It was cheaper than a new fridge, so that seemed fair.) They have coupons online which the repairman immediately honored. They gave us a 2 hour window for arrival and actually showed up at the beginning of said window. Finally, when we showed the repairman how one of our ignitors on our stovetop is out, instead of pressing for another repair (which we would’ve gone for), he taught us a workaround. He added, «It’s not worth getting them fixed until 2 or 3 of your ignitors go.»
Holy crap. Professional? Reasonable? On time? To quote Tracy Jordan from 30 Rock, I love All Area Appliance so much I want to take it behind a middle school and get it pregnant. Five stars!
