This place is amazing. The guys here are really cool, and Mario gave me a nice undercut! I will be going to this place more often. Highly recommend going here if you’re looking for an amazing haircut.

First time here. Found them on Unilocal and took in my son for a haircut. Didn’t get the name of the man who cut my sons hair but he was very nice and patient with my 3 year old. He took his time and kept reassuring my son that he was doing a good job. Love how his hair came out, he looks like a little man! All the barbers there take their time with each of their clients. It is cash only, the market next door does cash back but there’s a fee to use your card. We did have to wait for a little bit makes sense when the barbers pay attention to detail! Definitely will be back and bring my husband for his haircuts as well.

I’ve had one barber since middle school and I’m 23 so that’s commitment and he recently stop doing cuts to do tattoos which is lame because j was going it him for a really long time but his cuts were mediocre anyway so I’ve been on a search for a new barber I came across this shop on Unilocal 5 star barbershop on Unilocal they have to be doing something right but I was sceptic because of the name I thought it was going to be a Hispanic only shop but boy was I wrong they were very welcoming and funny they are really true with the name «familia» it was my first time there but it felt like I’ve been going there for years I definitely found my new barber I will be coming back hopefully he doesn’t start doing tattoos as well lol thanks Ed for the clean cut

It’s always fun and different every time I come. Every one is so nice and the barbershop has a great atmosphere! As a girl I feel very comfortable coming! At first I was very skeptical about coming because it was all guys but they proved me wrong and they are all cool and respectful! This is my go to spot from here on out. Thank you Mario for cutting my hair! My official Barber!

Familia Barbers are awesome. I started bringing my boys here in ¹⁰⁄₂₀₁₅ and have been coming back since. Edward is great he gives my boys a clean cut every time. When we walk out of here my boys are happy with there cuts and so am I. Thank you for always taking care of us. The other young gentlemen are great as well all there client’s leave happy.

The name says it all. There’s more than just a haircut when it comes to barbershops and this is one of em. It’s a home away from home and I’m happy to see this franchise grow. Ed and Mario are my barbers but most of all, they are my brothers from another mother. Keep doing your thing guys and I’ll see y’all when I see y’all. 5 star quality in all aspects people !!!

I read the great reviews about familia barbershop I said I’m going to try them and see what happens. So I went to see them, Mario cut my hair once He was done I was like Wow! Best hair cut ever received.

Ed definitely paid attention to detail when cutting my hair. I was in compton visiting my family for a week. I’m from the bay area and being in socal for a week, I needed a haircut and usually go with the hardcut/​hardline. Started searching on Unilocal and looking through the reviews I found Familia. I’m very critical when it comes to my haircut and only have one person back home that is able to cut my hair the way I like it so I was apprehensive trying out a new barber. Ed welcomed me and I felt comfortable right away. He asked what I needed and he delivered. The hardcut is straight, my beardline is straight and the fade is perfect. I had no regrets getting my haircut from him and will be going back to get a clean up before I head back home. I know where I’ll be going next time I’m in the area. For those of you that get the hardcuts, I know you feel me when i say there’s only a few people that can get them right. Ed is one of them.

I don’t normally write reviews either good or bad but the way I was treated, I can’t let it go. I’ve been here three times, the first was with Abraham, he was on point listen to the instructions I gave him, we talked about the Lakers, it was all good. The second time was with a new guy, his station is in the middle. I asked him to take off a little off the top, he cuts it way too short, I asked for a taper but not too low where I can see my skin, he basically gave me a skin fade. But I could have forgiven all of that because my hair grows back quick so no big deal. What I could not forgive is the two blatant patches in the back of my head, it’s like he was using a lawn mower or something. But I decided to go one more time and try the owner, I think his name is Ed. He seems like he knows what he is doing, so I thought why not. This review is not on Ed’s skill as a barber because I was not able to get a cut from him but rather his tone and customer service. I had shown up around 11 to get a cut they told me there were people in front of me I said cool, I’ll go to the post office and be right back. I came back I saw people getting their cut and then I started to pay attention to people who came after me. There was someone that arrived after me that I let go before me to the barber in the middle, the one that messed my cut before. I let another person go to a third barber because he was new and I really wanted to get a cut from Ed. Finally it was my turn, and at this point it’s been about an hour, I get up to go to the seat and he told me that it was not my turn and that I was behind three other people who I saw come after me. He said I’ve only been here for 20 minutes, I said no, it’s been a while. He basically called me a liar, and was making a big scene. Up to that point I’ve been really patient just waiting, so I decided never mind I’ll just leave, I was over it. He kept insisting that I was not telling the truth and told me not overact. First, who would lie about haircut priority that’s so dumb, I had no reason to lie. So basically moral of my story is if you’re a regular and they know you, it’ll be a good experience, if you’re a walk-​in, prepare for the worst.
Some constructive criticism for the shop, if you can’t remember who came first or second maybe you should start creating sign in sheet or something and all this would have been avoided.

They def live up to what u read! Went in to get trimmed up and beard cleaned up for a wedding. Had Ed and he introduced his fellow employees and made me feel welcomed as it was my first time there. Was more then pleased with the finished product. You can tell they take pride in their work and take their time to make you look good. Will def be back when i need another trim!

So I have been trying to find a barbershop for years where I know I will be satisfied with my cut 100% of the time, until I came across Familia Barbershop! These guys are on point and giving you what you want, leaving you looking fresh. I got my cut by Mario who left me looking dope. I will for sure be coming back again. Highly recommend these guys!

I was fortunate to have Mario cut my hair today. He had a lot of customers before me and from the reviews on Unilocal,I can say my expectations were high. I was impressed with the attention to detail and rapport he developed with each haircut. I later learned he had been working many hours non-​stop, which made the quality of his work all the more impressive. I thoroughly enjoy my new look, the beard trim, and realizing that extra attentiveness goes a long way. Great vibes here, they have a TV and there’s a spot next door with amazing empanadas and other delicious food. Great spot. Go here and tip Mario well for the hard work he puts into making sure you get the look you want.

So I’ve come here a few times and I really am impressed. Mario does a great job! Super clean and precise. I’ve gotten many compliments on my haircut.
Though the first time I came I did wait over an hour to get in the chair. Make sure you text them to see how busy they are!

We did a walking after my husband Unilocaled this place. They close on time. There’s plenty of parking. Cool people. I’m usually picky because my son has corse hair and a problem is usually the steps on the back of his head when he gets a fade. Hector gave him a fade and combover… Smooth and clean. The owner (sorry I forgot to ask his name) even gave my son some pointers on how to tame his hair. Thanks!

To start off, I would like to say that Familia Barbershop is just that, a family. I have been coming to this barbershop for almost three years and I don’t plan on changing ever. I currently reside at UCLA, and I make sure to take the bus or drive all the way to Hawthorne to get my hair cut as I feel that there is no better place to get one.
The community here is hilarious. You come in, and your start joking around with them, you start laughing with them, and sometimes you even get into a deep philosophical debate against Ed.
tl;dr
The price is amazing, the people are amazing, and there is no place I rather be when getting a haircut. If you need a haircut, go check them out.

Walked in today for a quick trim by Ed and left with an awesome haircut and a delicious empanada from the place next door (as per Eds recommendation). I just moved down to Hawthorne and I’m happy I’ve found my go to place for a trim. Familia Barbers do it right!

Real Life, no gimmicks or BS. Met this man through him inquiring about a apartment, us having a real man conversationlike men, he let me know he cut hair. I hit the man line after hours, told me he opening up the shop for me. Now, I’m not no amateur, and I know how real business go! This man cut my hair like I was PUff Daddy Combs, straight V.I.P. status. God bless the man that masters his craft. You a Beast Big Dog. Love!!!

To put it simply: Bash just gave me the most amazing haircut of my life! So meticulous, so much attention to detail, he was fully focused and in The Zone when cutting my hair. I had a shave as well and, wow, like the haircut it was a multi-​stepped choreography of know how. Bash, you’re more than a barber — you’re more like a diamond cutter!

Mario always takes me at last minute requests and always gives me a good cut. I don’t go
anywhere else!

Walked in and the interior is cool. Black & white. You can’t get more L.A. than that.
Mario took me after his customer and we chatted it up a bit about sports and what-​not. See, he’s confused. Rooting for the Dodgers and 49’ers? It’s like rooting for the Yankees and Patriots, know what I’m sayin’?
Anyways. The haircut he gave me was cool. See, I suffer from a receding hariline and god knows I’ve every fucking look in the book until I had to settle on the bald headed look. But even that can look tacky if you don’t maintain it properly.
Mario actually took time and care to make me look decent. So I don’t have to wear a hat until my next hair cut.
