I responded to a direct mail offer for chimney cleaning. Top Notch came out today and inspected the chimney. The repairman was extremely honest and above reproach — after looking at it said there was just a small amount of creosote and if he used the steel brushes in the chimney it would cause more harm than good. He recommended that before next winter to have it checked. No charge. Based on my experience I HIGHLY recommend them.

Made an appointment for Thursday, they called on Wednesday to say they were at my house. I explained the appointment was for Thursday between 1 and 5 as we discussed the day before and I would not be able to leave work at the moment. I left work early on Thursday to have my chimney cleaned and no one ever showed. On Friday I received a call that they were on their way, I told them not to bother since I was disappointed they couldn’t get the scheduling correct.

Top Notch 1 did a great job on my walkway, patio extension and chimney refacing. The chimney was exceptional — hand crafted to match the design and color of my house. Their workers were very friendly and extremely clean. I highly recommend Top Notch 1 if you need any masonry work!

Asked for gutter cleaning and repair and to power wash roof with a solution to remove and prevent moss growth. Didn’t receive senior discount as mentioned in ads (said it was already included in single figure they quoted me). Technician asked me to provide bags. Left the place filthy and tossed the bags on a planted garden. Left a moss-​heavy portion of the roof undone. Spent more time trying to sell me new services than cleaning up. I never saw a container for the solution used to wash the roof and doubt it was what was promised. This guy is a predator. I don’t know if this applies to any of the firm’s other technicians, as there seem to be no top-​down controls.
