Have been going to Dr. Sylvester for about 5 years, with no problems. They recently called me to schedule an appointment for some work that needed to be done. I explained that I now have Delta dental retiree. She said no problem. I went in, had the work done. That’s when they sprung the news. They can bill delta dental, but they are no longer a preferred provider. I was expecting my portion to be about $ 250-$ 300.(Have had same procedure done before). She said my part would be about $ 800. Needless to say, after thinking about it, I was very upset. I felt very deceived and lied to. This should of been told when they called to make appointment. They adjusted my bill, but I am still having to pay about $ 250 more than I should of. Very unhappy with the staff member that I spoke with. She back peddled and said they are very good about telling clients. Not true, 2 others that I know of were not informed either. Bad way to treat people and run a business.

I just switched to Dr Sylvester and I am so happy that I did. I had my first exam and cleaning this month. These are the nicest, most professional people. I think they love their jobs. I am so happy with them I couldn’t wait to get to my car to post a review. Everyone takes their time, asks good questions and provides great information without being pushy. I am so happy. I highly recommend them.

I have a 5 year old daughter who I have attempted to take to 2 previous dentists in the area and she was terrified of them. She would not stay in the chair and refused to let either dentist examine her. When we were referred to Dr. Sylvester, we had a wonderful experience. She wasn’t scared at all and even told the doctor and the hygienist that she really liked them. From the person at the front desk to the end it was a very positive experience. I am actually thinking about switching from my dentist in Burlingame to him. A+++ !!

I’ve been going to my dentist, Dr. Sylvester for at least 15 yrs(I’m 66 yrs old). I have fairly good teeth and hate novocaine shots. I remember, riding on my bicycle with dread to Dr. Dano, DDS in Watsonville, CA, some 50+ years ago with his teeth-grinder-drilling and stainless steel needles. Fast forward to Dr. Sylvester, the nicest, most patient-centered dentist, I’ve ever encountered. He gives the BEST novocaine shots I’ve ever had in my life. He applies a topical anesthetic with a cotton swap, waits a few minutes for it to take effect, gives a mild shot of novocaine, waits…, then applies the deeper novocaine, and on rare occasions will give you time, then apply a 4th novocaine injection if you’re still sensitive after three steps. Each step has the the multi-minute interval in between to allow numbing to occur. He’s wonderful! Dr. Sylvester has high speed drills that quickly remove cavities. I highly recommend him. I know, this next part sounds unbelievable, but I don’t even dread his root canals. I’ve had three or four over the last 15 yrs and the only discomfort is the time it takes. He is very courteous and efficient. This is my first Unilocal, review and I“m glad it’s for Hayward’s Dr. Mark Sylvester’s outstanding work. My wife uses him too.

One of the best dentists. I have been going there since 2nd grade and now I’m married. The same people still work there. Everyone is very nice and professional. It is very clean there too. My whole family goes there and I would recommend Dr. Sylvester to anyone. Pam has also cleaned my teeth my entire life :)…

Dr. Sylvester and one of his hygensits, Pam, have cleaned my teeth for my entire life. My grandparents go there, as do my parents and my sister. I find their office to be friendly, professional, and the doctor is very gentle. I completely trust them to tell me the truth, and never suggest a procedure that isn’t acutally necessary. I mean, nobody really enjoys going to the dentist… but still. :)
