I cant say enough about this shop
Have a 6.0 ford that I’m too stupid to walk away from because I’m emotionally attached to it.
But i gotta tell you john and his guys have made my truck like new again. Even took my wife’s Chrysler to him for some work. The best part is he is always extremely fair with me on pricing. I wont ever go to another shop as long as he’s in business.

To say that these guys are knowledgeable mechanics, running a customer service based shop doesn’t even begin to cover it. I wish Unilocal had a sixth star just for the level of customer service and satisfaction that these folks strive for. I have yet to experience this in Las Vegas since moving here a year and a half ago.
It was time for my 6.0 to get prepared for its second 150,000 miles, and these guys had the gear and the know-​how to get it done. After head gaskets, studs, rear main, and bullet proofing my truck, it was ready to go. It didn’t matter what little issue I might have, all they care about is getting it right and making it perfect.
They care about their craft, their product, and their customer. It’s the only place I will take my truck in Vegas.

I’m 5’4″ and I roll around town in a big ass monster truck… Ford Excursion Diesel that is! After many trips to the Ford Service Department and leaving with no explanations or problems resolved I became rather frustrated and in need of some guys who could get the job done right, the first time! I began doing my research and came across these guys. Yes, there is one man who has left a one star review (in more places than one) but if you have ever been to AJ’s and met John (the owner) and Mark you would know that the mans story is a little hard to believe. My husband and I frequent this place and have never had an issue. John is so great and knowledgable and he always does a great job. I came in with overheating issues that Ford could not figure out and AJ’s had it diagnosed in an afternoon. We ended up having them bulletproof my excursion so we could eliminate issues in the future. It was the way to go and my truck has been running great ever since. I brought it in another time because I had a loss of power and Ford just kept replacing my fuel filters (they never examined anything further). AJ’s pulled my gas tank and found that I had algae growing in there. They took all steps to remove the algae and now my truck has more power than ever! Vroom vroom! I also have them do all of my oil changes. If you own a diesel you should seriously check these guys out!

I just moved here from L.i. Ny with my 2004 ford tbird, it needed a lot of work, i shopped around and found AJs, I got lucky. mark and his crew brought my car back to life, he even was spot on on how much i thought it was going to cost me. I was worried about finding some one i can trust. Well i found my guy.

Brought my car here twice, once for an oil change and then to have my brakes done. Found that they were reliable and honest– two qualities that are invaluable to a mechanic shop. Since it’s a smaller shop (only 2 mechanics working) they really take extra care to make sure you’re happy and everything is done right. You don’t feel like just another faceless customer like at big dealerships. So they have a loyal customer in me even though the shop is 45 mins on the other side of town.
Bottom line: expert mechanics, honest, fast, Ford dealership experience. They can fix diesel engines or gas, big trucks or little cars. if it has a problem, AJ’s can fix it.

I’ve been going to John for years when he worked at his house and now at his shop. He’s honest, tells you what needs to be fixed and what can wait and what’s not necessary to fix. A great mechanic!

Ok, first take a look: 5 filtered reviews all 5-​star. Unilocal filters these for a reason… likely fake. Here’s MY experience:
John used to work at a dealer and did side-​work at his home (I later found out he wasn’t licensed and it was against his employment contract with the dealer for him to do this).
Anyway, I talked to John right before he opened his actual shop, got a quote on install of an aftermarket exhaust manifold for a 5.9 Cummins. He said, «wait until I get the shop open.» Ok, so I dealt with diesel fumes for a couple weeks. He finally opened, I took the truck in, he then told me it was going to be $ 100 more than he originally quoted. He was still less than the other places so I went ahead.
Everything seemed fine, until about 2 months later, one of the stud bolts worked its way completely out… I sent a photo of it to a friend of mine who is a diesel mechanic in Michigan, and just by the photo he pointed out 2 other things wrong with this job… seems John had re-​used the studs instead of using new ones… he also put the studs in the wrong places because one stud was supposed to be longer so it would hold a bracket. He used the longer stud in a different spot and the shorter stud where the longer one should be.
So, I call the shop, guy says «bring it down, he can put that stud back in for you».
I drive 40 miles to get there, pull the truck up to the overhead door and out comes John with a BIG ATTITUDE, half yelling at me about «don’t park your truck in the way of the door!». Sorry, John, I figured a 2 minute job putting a stud back in wouldn’t be a big deal, and it would save you walking across the entire parking lot…
He then informs me that I need to bring the truck back down «later this week» (I live 40 miles away, so that means an entire 80 mile trip)… and that «I’m going to have to charge you $ 80, and you gotta leave your truck here all day.»
$ 80 to put a bolt back in??? A bolt that he installed incorrectly? And installed 2 other bolts incorrectly, also? And, he can’t just do it while I’m there (10 minute job?) Instead I gotta put 80+ more miles on my truck?
I pointed out the other 2 incorrectly installed bolts, to which he answered, «So why didn’t you call me about that 2 months ago?» Well, John… I didn’t know– I’m not a pro like you are… and now it’s my fault it’s wrong? My question: «Why didn’t you do it right the first time?»
I was probably one of his first customers when he got his new shop… I took a leap of faith with him, I recommended him to MULTIPLE people… I overlooked the bait-​and-​switch the first time, and then all the sudden today he gets attitude and wants to charge me for fixing HIS mistake?
Obviously, not happy and wouldn’t ever go there again. I suggest you think twice before going there also.
