History

Established in 2012.

I spent 17 years in a Ford dealer and 8 of those years as a Senior Master technician. During my time at the dealer the biggest complaint I heard was how expensive it was and customer service was horrible. I left the dealer with training and knowledge in hand and opened AJ’s to service the customer with reasonable prices and a Southern Illinois outlook on business treat people right and they will keep coming back and send their friends.

Meet the Business Owner

John H.

Business Owner

As you probably read I have 17yrs experience in the dealer. I grew up in farm country in Illinois where my father was a general contractor. We didn’t have a lot of money so at a very early age I learned if you have something broken you fix it or you do without. At 10 years old I was playing in pistons and valves building my first engine. I then got into high school and carried on my love of a well oiled machine. After high school I started at a dealer on an oil change rack and the service manager came to me after a month and said I don’t think this is working out… crushed I asked what I did wrong or what happened he said … we are moving you on the line. Apparently in speaking with the other, older techs in the shop, they figured out I wasn’t just another dumb kid that liked cars. I had a very simple solution then that I keep now. If you screw something up on someone’s car just say you did it… someone may not like the answer but you won’t be called a liar!
