Yikes… please heed the warnings from all the one-​star reviews: do not rent from Mckenna Property Management. What a joke of a company… I wish I could have looked up reviews for this place before renting with them. We were bouncing from hotel to hotel for three days due to our military move from Texas to Vegas, and needed a rental home with a backyard for our 2 dogs ASAP. We didn’t have too much time to be picky with our choices, and so we landed with a 3bd 2.5bath rental home managed by McKenna Property Management.
Upon move in, the condition of the house was quite sad. The carpet was completely matted, metal debris was spread throughout the entire second floor (so much so that we could not walk barefoot for the first few days), and a tongue ring was found on the stairs. There were many defects I found in the house. Maintenance was dispatched a day or so later. I asked if they could remove the fridge unit from the wall so that we could plug our own fridge in… and they weren’t able to remove the duct that was connecting the unit. Out of the several problems with the house, they were only able to properly repair a lightcap and replace a lightbulb…
I work in property management as well, and I was appalled at the move in condition of the house, and how they allowed this house to be market ready. I receive work orders on a daily basis, and I know how bothersome it can get, so I hated to be «that tenant» that complained about everything. After maintenance’s initial visit, I never called back. These defects were not to the point where it was an emergency.
After moving out of the property, I received our Statement of Security Deposit. Some of the charges that they had were fair. I’m not one to complain about moveout charges, as I also process move out charges and close accounts for past residents at work. When I found a $ 75 charge for replacing a missing freezer retainer bar that was not even in the freezer at the time of move in, I called and asked for pictures of the appliances prior to my occupancy. I got a good amount of my deposit back anyways, so I was not going to get upset over $ 75 if it was justified. I spoke to Debbie, who had the most condescending attitude and tone I have ever encountered with a representative. Every sentence she said sounded like a verbal attack. I told her I moved in with the retainer bar missing. It was my fault I did not note it on the inventory sheet, but I was more so concerned with the overall cosmetic defects of the house than I was with the fridge (as long as it was functioning, I was ok), as I had intentions of wanting to use my own fridge. I told Debbie how I wanted to use my fridge, but was not able to because her maintenance team was unable to remove the unit from the wall. She asked me «WHY» in the most obnoxious tone several times before I told her «I dont know. That would be a great question to ask your maintenance team!»
If Debbie had answered me more politely instead of abrasively, even if I was not at fault, I would have let the $ 75 go.
I think it’s laughable how all the 5 stars on Facebook are only from the employees themselves. After scrolling through Mckenna’s Unilocal page and only seeing 1 stars from top to bottom, that should really tell you something about the company.

Trust everything you are about to read… Not only in my review, but in every review. I had spent a WEEK making my rental spotless before handing over the keys. We were charged over $ 600 dollars in repairs and cleaning! By repairs I mean light bulbs I could not reach and broken blinds that I indicated were broken on the day we moved in (which is documented) Then they charged me for cleaning and removing «nails» from the wall… There wasn’t a single nail in the wall and I patched everything myself. As far as paint, contract said we weren’t responsible for paint, but we were charged anyway. We were also charged for DUST!!! I dusted before giving the keys and steam cleaned tile and was still charged!!! Such a rip off. And I will do everything I can to get my money back. I took pictures of everything before I gave the keys over and everything g is spotless. Such a rip off. Not happy. Never was a day late on rent and we took care of the house… I mean it was spotless. I’d post pictures, but I don’t want to compromise my case. Pictures will follow after I get my money back. Don’t trust McKenna property management!!!

If I could have given a lower rating I also would have. I have never dealt with any company that is so unprofessional and rude. I believe that customer service is the last of this company’s priorities. I wish that I had read all of these reviews before choosing to rent with this horrible company. I hope that this is not a true representation of what Las Vegas has to offer. I believe they are penny squeezers which is sad. No one likes to respond to voicemail or maintenance issues. And do not dare try and speak to the «boss» that will not get you anywhere either. She is just as rude and condescending. Can you believe because I told her I was going to write a review she hung up in my face and the fees that I incurred because of her incompetent staff that she originally said she would wave she said she wouldn’t. I have never dealt with anything so disgusting ever! I could never trust a company that is being ran by someone like that. I have never been late with my rent, but always seem to have a delay in my maintenance request and always seem to have an problem with getting a correct answer. I actually was told that I was given incorrect information by the person I spoke to and it’s ok because she is new. Hello! this is someones life, the place were I sleep. The business is poorly ran… simple.

Don’t bother cleaning before you move out. They’ll charge you the cleaning deposit regardless. Also they are ridiculously rude. We will absolutely be filing a complaint with the BBB. Honestly, its a wonder they are still in business. This is not how a professional business should act, stealing tenant’s money among other things. They charged us $ 140 to buy three cans of paint and tried to charge us $ 80 for landscaping when we had a landscaper contracted through them. Beware! Such a horrible company!

I contacted this property management company three times regarding a property they had listed that I was interested in. Two calls, two voicemails, and one email. Did not hear back from them whatsoever. Seeing these reviews I’m not surprised, now I’m glad they didn’t return any calls or emails. Don’t waste your time contacting these people!

I wish I could give this company a lower rating. This is, by far, the worst company I have had the misfortune of dealing with in my entire life. Every bad doctor that I’ve ever had, every bad experience I’ve ever had with renting, every crappy salesperson I’ve ever had to encounter, all of it pales in comparison to this company.
I intend to file a complaint with the BBB due to inconsistent policies and misinformation provided. I could go into that office right now and ask one person a question about leasing, and get one answer, and then ask a different person and get a completely different answer.
No one is held accountable for the wrong information provided and no one will take responsibility. My boyfriend and I just got out of the house that we had rented for the past year, thank goodness, and we were told to clean the house as best we could and we would just be charged for what was left to clean.
That was a terrible lie and it wouldn’t have been that hard for us to have gotten a truthful answer… Debbie could have just contacted the cleaning company that they use and ask how much they charge for their cleaning. Come to find out, after us contacting the cleaning company that they use ourselves, that no matter how much you clean, if they come out they clean the whole house and charge per square foot.
So it really didn’t matter how much we cleaned, we were going to be charged per square foot for cleaning. If we would have known that, we wouldn’t have cleaned in the first place. Two days of cleaning a house to find out we missed a couple of small things (cleaning one set of blinds that was too tall to reach without a ladder, an air filter not replaced) and we were charged almost $ 300.
After calling the office to speak with the person that misinformed us, we were told that she in fact did not say that. She would not take responsibility for her mistake and was not willing to budge on a resolution. Her customer service skills are that of someone who has never had a customer. No wonder there are plentiful negative reviews of this company.
We will see how the BBB decides to proceed with this but I would HIGHLY suggest recording all phone calls with this company. Unless it’s written or recorded, you can’t hold them responsible. Good thing we have recordings.
This company should be closed down and go out of business with their terrible practices and employees. Employees that talk bad about tenants while those tenants are in the office. Employees that have no respect for others and are not afraid to show disrespect to your face.

We’ve lived as a tenant in a McKenna managed property for about two years. One of our exterior door locks have been broken since we moved in. Never fixed. We submitted 4 work tickets last month & only 1 has been fixed so far. (One of the four items is the air conditioner and I live in Las Vegas which gets super hot, so it’s kind of important.) Since we’ve been waiting a month now for these issues to be addressed, I called in McKenna for an update. I’m not mad. I’m not argumentative. I just want an update. Suddenly I was being attacked because it was my fault for not letting her know that I haven’t received any phone calls from the repair vendors. Nice. Blame the customer. «I’m calling you now.» I exclaimed in my defense. «Now Kia» I continued, «don’t try turning this on me.» to which she replied, «My name is Kera.» Now I admit, this is where I got annoyed. I don’t care what your name is at this point. «So you as the ‘management company’ do absolutely no follow up to repairs once they are submitted.’ to which Kera replied, «That is correct.» I snidely came back to her saying that I would be sure to note that in my review, to which she said to do that. So here it is. Done.
Now to Kera’s credit, the phone number that was on file was not mine, so I am sure these companies have tried & given up on trying to reach us to repair these issues. I wasn’t even mad that they weren’t fixed yet, I just wanted an update. I was rightfully disappointed in the lack of follow through and the need she felt to attack me. It was just not called for.
Let’s face it. Management companies don’t have the best reviews because the end-​user, in this case the tenants, are not their customers. The property owners of their properties are their customers. The property owners sign into contracts and pay them. We’ve never even met our property owner, so we couldn’t even comment to him on satisfaction of our management of his property even if we wanted to. As a result, management companies don’t have to provide a high level of professionalism or customer service to their tenants and I don’t see this changing anytime soon.

One of the worst management companies I’ve had to deal with in Las Vegas! They are so unprofessional when dealing with them on any level. Their level of intelligence is beyond moronic. I’ve never worked with a company that tries to squeeze every penny out of the people who are doing business with them like this company has. On more then one occasion we were told our rent wasn’t turned in on time. Good thing I saved the rent receipt! I personally took the rent to drop it off and made sure the lazy front desk lady signed off on it, which she gave me attitude about. Then we get a letter with a late fee on it! Any services and maintenance that has been needed has been horrible and done so cheaply it needs rear again! Do not rent or do business with these people. There are much better options around town!

I worked with the McKenna team from the end of ¹²⁄₁₃ to ³⁄₁₅. In that time, my house was rented for one year. The pros– the cost was reasonable, the landscapers they hired did a great job. They were good about getting the house ready, overseeing new carpet installation and such since that all happened after we had moved. They had a system in place that allowed the tenant to pay online and the funds were deposited directly into our account after the necessary bills were paid. Being paid on time is about the best thing I can say about the experience.
Now, here are my reasons for the one-​star rating. When I first visited the house in April, the tenant had only been living there a little over a month. I arrived, as did the representative from the McKenna team. The tenant was not there like she had agreed to be. Unfortunately, the rep had not brought a key, so we had to have another key brought to us. I felt this was unprofessional.
Upon entering, the house was a DISASTER! This sent red flags off in my mind, because I was wondering how much damage my house was going to sustain in their tenancy.
Sadly, I was correct to be worried. When I returned in November, the house reeked of cigarettes (supposed to be a non-​smoking rental) and they had a puppy, which also went against the lease the tenant signed. There was a person who was not on the lease living there (another violation) and he worked on lots of cars (all sitting in front of my house, no less) resulting in heavy dirty tracking throughout the house.
When their contract period was over, imagine my surprise when I found out the property management was not sure if she’d moved or not! They ended up staying an additional six days past their move-​out date. Thankfully, I hadn’t planned on moving into my house right away like I had originally planned or I would have been homeless! My input was not sought on what my plans for the house were at that point.
Now, the carpet has a lot of wear and tear. This was brand new carpet when the tenants moved in. We went back and forth With McKenna about whether it was needing replacement or not. There were stains, and big clean marks where all the furniture was. The owner of McKenna Prop Mgt, Jenni, actually went to Home Depot to discuss the quality of my carpet with them! If only she had put the amount of energy into caring for my home when there was someone in it as she did attempting to prive me wrong, they might still be employed by me right now.
I also found out they did not collect an entire first month’s rent for the security deposit like we had discussed. They said they «try to,» but it was never discussed with me before they decided to go ahead and settle for less. There were many decisions like this (such as whether this person could have an extended stay of 6 days after the lease was up) that they made without my consent and I felt it overstepped their bounds. They seem to forget that we are the homeowners, and therefore the decision-​makers, not them. I wanted them to execute our decisions, not make them for us. Many times, they *told* me what they were going to do, did not ask me what I wanted, and that really did not sit well with me.
When things started to go badly, I found my e-​mails were often ignored or not answered fully, and were snarky I repeatedly asked for concerns to be addressed.
Bottom line– I hired them to take care of the things I could not because I was not physically in the city to do it myself. They did not do that. At every point that damage was done, it was I who had discovered it while visiting, not them, and then they bent over backward to not have to take care of it. Hopefully this review will help someone else make a more judicious decision.

Let me start off by saying McKennas Maintenance guys have been very helpful and def make me feel at ease when welcoming them into my home. This will be my third year renting them and honestly when it comes to repairs they are quicker than most apartment companies I’ve rented from in the past. They’re not the most perfect company as I can understand that there is a 3^rd party involved when making repair decisions. I’ve also had the trouble of getting my air conditioner fixed during the weekend of the hot summer months and with my son having epilepsy it was an issue. However, they called to assure it was fixed with several follow up calls and an apology for the wait. I don’t foresee this ever being an issue on going.
When calling them I always get a response in less than 24hrs. I never feel brushed off. I enjoy speaking with Kierra and Rich as they always get back to me so quickly. Now some other pros is they allow you to pay online via your checking account with no fees. Super convenient !!
You can also submit maintenance requests online at any hour of the day.
If you get close to the 5^th day of the current month of which your rent is due they allow you to drop it off at the office with no additional fees.
Additionally I’ve needed some big repairs done due to neglect of previous tenants and they got fixed without any out of pocket expense for me. When signing a new lease each year they also agreed to do other requests I had at no charge. Just remember they are not the owner and sometimes it’s the owner who doesn’t want to invest the extra money. If so, I ask McKenna to make note of that as this is not my neglect and I’m doing my very best to keep up with the house as if it were mine.
I would def recommend them to family and friends.

Beware of McKenna PM. I was nice enough to give them my own business and a family referral and it has been a negative experience all around. They go ahead and make repairs on the property and have no problem billing the owner and charging way too much for labor and repairs. Next thing you know, you owe them almost as much as a house payment itself. You’re better off making you own repairs for your tenants and handling as much as you can independently.
They lack proper communication with their clients and have no problem charging too much, for even the smallest of repairs.
Read the other reviews before signing anything with them.

I would not recommend this unprofessional, sneaky company. We paid to have our whole house PROFESSIONALLY cleaned by a reputable cleaning company for $ 175 dollars and had the carpets cleaned for $ 200 and they still charged us for a janitorial fee. Even though the lady that I spoke with from THEIR company said it was cleaned and actually said «wow, you paid $ 175 to get it cleaned, Wow» and then we get our measly deposit back that they took more than half of. Save yourself time and money and go with a different company. They put you into homes that constantly need fixing and then take your security deposit for the issues that were already wrong with the house at the end. They have the low ratings for a reason. GO WITH ANOTHER COMPANY. It will seem fine once your a renter of theirs but once you move on they don’t care.

DW I have property managed by the Mckenna Team. They have been very professional in all my dealings with them. As an owner of several properties in different cities I just wish I could find a McKenna property management in each city I think they are the best at collecting the rent and keeping my properties in great condition. I would and have recommended them to other investor friends many times

I would give them no stars if I could. They are trying to keep half of my security deposit for things i noted on my lease at move in and for some chairs that where not in the house or on my lease. Don’t trust them or use them there are better property management groups out there.

Signing the lease here seemed promising, boy was I wrong. A few months after moving in the air condition broke in the summer on a Friday morning. I called McKenna and they told me «oh well, you’ll have to wait until Monday». My roommate, her two dogs, my two dogs and myself sat in a house over 100 degrees for almost two days. It only got fixed because I personally had to find an A/​C company with no help of McKenna. We called multiple times about the tile lifting in the upstairs bathroom, they sent multiple people to fix it but no one ever came back to finish the job. At the end of the lease Mckenna sends a piece of mail with a checklist of everything that needs to be cleaned upon move out, everything was done by my roommate and I. They took our whole $ 1400 deposit to power wash the driveway due to oil stains (they were there when we moved in), Change one light bulb, cleaning, «adjusting», not fixing all towel racks (there was nothing wrong with it), cleaning the garage (that was swept out by me personally) and taking out the trash and recycling that was siting at the top of the driveway because they took the garage door clicker, house keys, security gate clicker before the trash man could come.
There was not one time my roommate or I called that ANYONE in that office was polite or professional and not one employee ever returned a phone call unless they wanted money.
McKenna is a joke! They should be ashamed to call themselves a «management» company.

Me and my family used this company. Kelly Fox was our agent. Im writing this to caution anyone interested in using this property management company to find them a rental property. Never have I encountered such an unprofessional in my life. Kelly Fox degraded and humliated my family simply because he wasnt compitent enough to find my family a decent rental home. He demanded money because we decided to keep looking for other homes when he had only shown us one other house. When we explained we were still interested in looking at more houses, he threw a tantrum like a five year old and drove off. It was literally unbelievable. This is purely for anyone looking for a reliable, professional company to help find them a home. Take it from me, go elsewhere. DO NOT GIVE KELLY FOX YOUR BUSINESS!

In response to Jenni McKeena as I quote what she previously said «McKenna Property Management seems to be taking the blame.» Well that is a given, when you are the property management company. You are there to handle any problem that will arise, both on the tenants or owners side. As a company you have taken that responsibility and all the BLAME that comes with it. However, your company is passing it self off as an innocent party, when it is not. It was a nightmare calling your company because almost everyone I spoke to had sass, spoke down to me, and were unprofessional. I’m still waiting on my security deposit after the given 30 days by law and your company seems to continue to have no answers for me. Now I have the daunting task of coming down to your office to pick up my check or I’ll never get it!
After I have my money, I will be happy to no longer think of your company. And as you said «I wish you luck in the future!»

Terrible property management and real estate services. They were quick to respond to service calls, but anything regarding paperwork or telling the truth is not going to happen. We waited for months for a lease renewal and to find out about the owner being in default status. They’re always «looking into it» and never return calls.
As a real estate company, they never respond to agent emails and questions nor do they follow the NRS laws about handling multiple offers.
