Tennis Werx is great outlet for kids to get tennis in their blood. All the coaches are great and Bunny Power loves coming here. Thanks Big Game!

My son started at Tennis Werx a couple of months ago. He is only 3.5 yrs. old and is already learning proper technique including foot work(we all know it starts with the feet). The program is more than just a coach standing still and lobbing balls at your child to hit. From footwork drills through creative and energetic games, the staff here does a great job! Coach James really cares for his players and is always available when an issue arises and he works with the parents to find a solution. He and his staff is very in tune with his students. They are very knowledgeable, full of energy and always give plenty of compliments. Each child gets the individual attention they deserve while at the same time emphasizing teamwork and respect. He demands the children pay attention and always give it their all, at the same time keeping lessons interesting and never burning them out. He and his staff know when a child is losing focus and knows when to mix it up with fun games in order to keep their attention. Anyone with a 3 – 5 yr old knows how challenging this can be. My son asks almost everyday day if he can go and play tennis at Tennis Werx. Personalized gear is available for everybody including shirts with the nicknames that coach James and his staff eventually give each child. The kids learn that through discipline and hard work they can and will improve. My sons ability to take instruction and to listen in a sports environment has improved(I enrolled him in a youth soccer program when he was 18 months old). I was looking forward to getting him involved in tennis at an early age and enrolled him in a parks and rec class at Whitney Mesa. As the weather started to get warmer I started looking for something indoor, as the summers here are way too hot for a child my son’s age. I happened to come across this place when I saw a flyer at a local bagel deli. Coach James and his staff have also been very accommodating to our schedule.

My daughter has been going to Tennis Werx for 3 years. She has learned to play the correct way, they teach the correct form from the beginning. The staff is wonderful and Coach James is the reason I have stayed around. He has taught my daughter not only the game of tennis but how to handle difficult situations in life as well. I just started my youngest daughter with them and couldn’t be happier. They are professional and truly care about kids. It’s amazing that James started his business by private lessons in the different locations, in neighborhoods, and parks and now has 2 indoor facilities. All in the 3 years I’ve known him. He must be doing something right!

I wouldn’t bring my child to this place at all if I were you– the owner and coach who goes by Coach James really needs to take anger management classes — he yells at the kids and parents — the kids are to scared to tell him that they need to use the restroom during their lessons or if they are having trouble breathing– today I went to check on a child I was watching(the child has asthma and I’m a nanny) during the lesson and Coach James came right at me yelling in my face– which It was just my face that entered the tennis area –he kept on yelling at me even after I told him he didn’t need to talk to me that way which he then spoke even louder– I told him that the child I was taking care of wouldn’t come to him to tell him anything and that it’s my right to check on him, he didn’t agree and told me that no one is allowed to come in that area while lessons are going on and there is a parent area to watch what is going on(which you can’t see how someone is breathing). I totally understand not wanted people to come in and interrupt the lesson I get that but for someone’s health is a different story and for Coach James to totally go after me for checking on the child I was looking after makes him look even worse. He should of taken me aside and talk to him about that and not yell like a crazy donkey in front of all the young children– He should be more concerned about the health of the children he is trying to coach and also he’s in a position where children look up to him and he is not setting a good example on how a grown up should act– it’s totally sad to see someone act that way especially the owner– I never once raised my voice and I told him many time to not talk to me that way and that there is no need to talk that way– well now he has 3 less children and hopefully more that will not be going to that place again — run away don’t go to Tennis Werx– I know this will probably be taken down because who wants negative info about their company out there but at least they will have to see it before having it removed– the sad thing is he doesn’t even care that he is losing business with this awful behavior
