I couldn’t recommend this place more highly. It’s hard to find a good local business when you are new to the area. Frank came to our house and changed the locks on four doors. He was timely, polite, and trustworthy. He even showed us how to reprogram the garage door opener.

Sometimes you find a business that truly cares about making their customers. At Hermosa Lock and Safe, not only are they knowledgeable, but they stand behind their products. They are competitively priced, have a large supply of products, and care about their customers. I would highly recommend this business.

Had Frank come out and change all the locks on my house. Really nice guy and did a quick and efficient job. Highly recommend this great company.

I used them for work on my home and was very pleased. Wife Rozanne is readily available by phone, and husband Frank seemed knowledgeable, was thorough and fairly priced. They don’t have their own website, but other than that were very easy and pleasant to work with.

Needed a spare key made for a motorcycle and went to 4 other stores (Lowe’s, HD, 2 locksmiths) before Hermosa Lock and Safe. This motorcycle key is non standard and none could figure out how to use an existing key template to make functioning copy. Frank was able to use a key measurement tool to find a key stock that he had on hand and made copies that work perfectly. I regret not going here first as it was the closest locksmith to one to my house.

I was in the neighborhood and needed a key copied. They also had various styles/​colors of keys, which made it really fun to play a practical joke on my brother by buying one of the special design keys. The lady who helped me was pretty matter-​of-​fact, but they did help me out a lot that day. They were close, fast, and provided exactly what I needed. I have no complaints of any kind.

Hermosa Lock & Safe and Frank were great! I have a fairly new expensive pin-​pad lock for my front (and only) door to my condo, that suddenly stopped working. I called another locksmith first who was open… Big mistake. First they showed up late, scratched up my door, were unable to open my door and then left suddenly saying they were late– then showed up 3 hours later demanding a service fee. In the meantime, I went to Hermosa lock & safe who assured me they could in. Frank came by and was great! He explained what he was checking, how it was responding and he was able to actually pick the lock (unlike the other guy) and detemined the latch on the inside wasn’t working. So rather than drilling into my lock, he climed up my balcony, got in through sliding door and then fixed the front door. He even went back to the shop to get parts to make my existing lock work. Frank and the ladies at the store were both very nice and professional. I wasn’t aware of these other scamming «lock smiths» but I can promise I won’t use anyone but Frank… and I highly suggest you don’t either.

My two babies were locked in the car. I had called several places trying to get someone to come help. They were all going to take at least 25 minutes to get there. When I called Hermosa lock and safe they showed up within 3 minutes! He was so nice and professional and had the car unlocked in less than a minute with no damage to the car! I will use them every time! Other companies were not going to show up unless I had money on hand and he was willing to work with me in this emergency! Great lock smith and great man!

Family owned business and very trustworthy — came referred by several people in Manhattan Beach and couldn’t be happier with the service. Frank is so nice and honest and trustworthy — you feel totally comfortable with him making your keys! Had him relock three doors and reprogram garage door, he even set to my car as well. And on top of that, he changed out a lock for me for another small lock/​key in my house, and he DID have that small speciality key, so don’t believe everything you hear.
Call early enough ahead — they are great at squeezing you in, but a small operation, which is perfect for a locksmith. Very reasonable pricing and came in the evening to help me, was very flexible. Highly recommend!

Last week, my door jammed and I could not open my door!!! I called Frank and he arrived immediately (less than 20 minutes), and was able to find out what the problem was. My door’s hinge was off balanced and therefore creating a pressure that made my door jam shut. He fixed it right away. This is a family owned business and they are just great. Very happy with the service and will always use them and recommend them. Reasonable prices and professional.

How thoughtful these people are… at the completion of a remodel Frank came over and rekeyed my home and then recoded the garage door opener. I would not have thought of reprograming the garage door opener. I would definitely use them again.

My key was having trouble opening my lock, you had to jiggle it a lot until it finally fit. This was a slow gradual breaking down, not sudden. Til one day it didn’t want to open. I called another key place in Redondo that I normally go to for keys and they didn’t pick up the phone in the middle of the day. I left a message. I then looked for another place and found Hermosa Lock & Safe. Called on the phone and a lady answered and said it probably just needed some WD-​40, good as new, no visit, no charge. I will go there from now on. The other place never even called me back.

These folks are really friendly, they have an excellent supply of general key supplies and safes and the house duplicate keys they make do work.
However, they are terrible at obtaining any specialty keys such as for late model vehicles or RV cargo bins. They advertise that they can duplicate these keys, includiing those with computer chips built in, but they simply do not stock the blanks and are unable to obtain them. This even though they have the equipment to program the chips. What a waste to have the equipment, but no blanks !!
I have a 2004 Dodge Truck which uses a key with a computer chip and I was told they don’t stock the blanks and it would take 6 – 8 weeks to order it. They supposedly ordered it twice and I kept calling them multiple times over a 3 month period. It never came in as they we’re never able to obtain it. So I gave up and went back to the truck dealer.
Also, I brought them an RV cargo bin key and they made me several dupes that did not work. They did refund me, but told me they have to order the blank I needed. Forget it as I had enough of this waiting. I went to a second locksmith on Artesia Blvd. who tried three times to dupe without success. I ended up at Steve’s Lock Safe Alarm on Sepulveda Blvd. in Manhattan Beach (recommended by a friend) and they did it right the first time.
This should NOT have been that difficult. In fact, the guys at Steve’s didn’t believe me when I told them of all the trouble I had. If keys are your business, you should have blanks and be able to make the keys work.

I really appreciate this place. Both for the service there, but also the service at my home. Not cheap, but worth it.

Well, I am moved into my new beach townhouse, sort of. I will be organizing for the next year or so. My first night was virtually sleepless. The cat freaked out & spent the night smashed up against my head meowing into my ear. The little bas… I mean, the little darling, is sleeping now. I am somewhere between exhausted and comatose. But at least I am SAFE! Yes, indeed, Frank, my new favorite locksmith, was here yesterday afternoon, just when the movers left. He worked on all the locks and got me new keys and reprogrammed the garage door opener. And told me where the best Mexican food is to be found locally (future review) and chatted with me about local events & all kinds of stuff. So happy to be your new neighbor, Frank! You did a magnificent job on my locks & general safety issues for an extremely reasonable price & I highly recommend you to anyone and everyone!
