I love Mari she’s super cool and sweet this is my second time coming to her I highly recommend her she’s awesome. The first time I came my hair was SOOO damage it just had been through so much that I desperately needed help, she made it all better and now I’m back again and I will continue coming here she’s AMAZING!

Mari is a beyond amazing! I was a major color correction client, with some over processed breakage. Mari know’s exactly what she’s doing, explaining everything along the way. She also gave me a quick, cute cut to boot! I am beyond pleased with the results and I highly recommend anyone looking for great, knowledgeable service, to see Mari!

Best hair stylist in hermosa, hands down. She completely fixed my color, and it looks amazing.
She really listened to what I wanted and gave me suggestions that ended up looking fantastic! I have been trying to grow my hair out, and she was able to keep almost all of my length and still make it look healthy and great!

Mari is amazing. I had been box dying my hair for years but I have now sworn off of box dye forever thanks to her. She took my grungy orange tinted hair and made it blonde again. I hadn’t gotten a hair cut in two years because stylist always butcher my curly hair but she knew exactly what to do, got rid of the split ends, and kept from cutting too much. She also gave me a ton of advice on products to use and didn’t force any of the pricey items on me as most stylists do. I’ll never go to another stylist as long as she is working in the southbay.

I initially checked this place out because I needed to have my hair done before attending a wedding. The blonde highlight reviews were great for real blondes looking for proper light highlights. I called and luckily got a last minute appointment with Mari, who was above and beyond accommodating. I arrived early and she was on time and I was able to get in and out and loved my results. I will certainly be returning to see Mari again, she absolutely rocks!!! Thanks Mari!

Tried her with a Groupon. Mari knows her business & cares for her clients. Reason being, not only do I LOVE my haircut, I was also considering color (for the 1^st time). I was surprised that Mari suggested to NOT color my hair & to keep it «virgin» for as long as possible; which means she saved me $ 100 plus on another treatment. Mari earned herself a repeat customer… thanks Mari! Oh, & did I mention, LOVE the haircut!

I had been with my previous hair stylist for years, but over time she kept moving further and further away… until the drive to see her got so ridiculous that I had to find someone new. Which is always scary.
I’ve definitely heard the horror stories. And unfortunately experienced one first hand. Got my hair cut with someone new and it was AWFUL. One side was 1 inch longer than the other, and she chopped a thick, single layer in the back that looked more like a step than layers. Super hideous.
I considered going back to my original stylist, but then I found Mari at Maximus. She had really positive reviews on Unilocal so I decided to give her a try. And I’m so glad I did… I LOVE my hair and have been getting so many compliments on it! Even from guys in my office who I didn’t even think noticed things like that. My fiancée who I DEFINITELY didn’t think noticed these things said «Did you do something different to your hair?» and I said «I got it cut!» and he said my hair looked like it should be in a Pantene commercial. Swoon.
She even fixed the awful «step» layer so now it blends perfectly… Will definitely be going back to Mari!

I have been to what it felt like every hair salon in the southbay area and could not find the right person to do blonde highlights! Mari exceeded my expectations. She knew exactly what i meant when I said i didn’t want orange or yellow blonde but the pretty blonde blonde! I even had some left over orange from an old stylist and she took that right out. She is very knowledgeable about hair color and took her TIME. Did not rush and listened to my concerns. She trimmed my hair just as asked and gave me great styling tips.

I found Maximus Salon through Unilocal and was SO happy to find Mari! After calling around to several salons, Mari called me right back. She went out of her way to accomodate my schedule and was able to squeeze me in on a Saturday. I have been driving to Long Beach since moving to the Southbay in fear of not being able to find someone who I trust with my hair. I have long hair and I’m always afraid of a stylist cutting it too short. Mari listened to exactly what I wanted and did an excellent job on my cut. I will be going back for another cut and color/​highlights next time. I would definitely recommend Mari!

I tend to bounce around from hair salon to hair salon– I’m bad at making appointments… BUT I have booked with Mari a few times– she is great and knows what she’s doing. I have damaged, curly hair and she gave me a lot of tips on how to keep it healthy and grow it longer. She listens when you say «just a trim!» I def. recommend!
