I moved from Tacoma, WA to LA at 19 years old, with no friends and no family down here. My Dad always used to take care of my Audi TT, and I had a german auto place back in Washington State that did any other work. I had absolutely no idea who to turn to for my Audi’s maintenance.
When I was at Starbucks all of my coolant spilled out, my emergency light came on, and I assumed something terrible happened to my radiator, which would be incredibly pricey to fix. A local noticed me in distress and told me to go to Bob Hoffman and he’d take care of me. Bob took a good look, and bought a pressure valve (if my memory is correct) which solved the problem immediately. He’s honest and the smartest mechanic I’ve ever been around. The same thing happened two months later, and all my coolant was on the ground again. I bring it straight to him, he calls the place that sold the part to him, finds its under warranty, and fixes it free of charge.
One last story! Before I found Bob, my air conditioning wasn’t working. I went to a different German auto shop. They charge me an arm and a leg for getting my freon recharged. As I’m leaving the shop, hot air is blowing instead of the AC. They scratch their heads, have absolutely no idea how to fix it, and refund me. I go to Bob and he smiles and buys a simple part, and my air conditioning is blasting. Bob Hoffman is the best.
He’s brilliant. Knowledgable. Trustworthy. Honest. My Audi TT is my baby and I can rely on him fixing it.

More than 25 years ago, we moved to Redondo from Florida and were looking for a trained, knowledgeable and trustworthy auto mechanic. We picked Bob at Precision Motorsport. He has worked on every car we and our sons have owned since 1988: four Audis, one VW Carrado, two Lexuses, a NIssan Maxima, even a Toyota Corolla. He is honest, explains everything he thinks the car needs, much less expensive than dealer service departments and other mechanics. If you’re going to drive used cars (and we do – letting someone else take the huge early years depreciation), you need a good mechanic who deals honestly and doesn’t give you the mumbo-​jumbo «this is expensive» business. I don’t hesitate to recommend Bob Hoffman – yes, Unilocalees, «woohoo! as good as it gets!»

Great place to have work done on an Audi. I have very little knowledge about fixing anything in my car, and very much appreciate the owner Bob. Very knowledgable and also a great teacher about important car information that all car owners should know. I will continue using this local small business for any work I need on my car.

Top notch mechanics! Took my car to a local Audi dealer and they said I needed $ 2500 worth of work on my 2006 Audi A4 Cabriolet. A friend told me about Precision, so I gave them a try. Bob gave the car a thorough run through, and said I only needed a few things worked on, and the total was around $ 500! I know where I will be bringing my car from now on!

Bob Hoffman is awesome! I have had a nightmare of a time with my VW Jetta TDI (new engine, new transmission, months in the shop, etc…). After about 3 – 4 dealers and 2 – 3 auto «experts», I finally found Bob. While most of the horror of my story was pre-​Precision Motorsports, he has been a breath of fresh air. I received a list of things «wrong» with my Jetta from a local VW dealer that would have been probably $ 5,000+. After visiting Bob, he informed me that the items that were listed were not as urgent as the shop had made it seem, in fact «keep on driving» was his advice. I found Bob through Unilocal and yes I experienced the exact same service as everyone else. Highly recommended. Thank you Bob!!!

5+ stars! If you have an Audi and live anywhere nearby, this needs to be your place. Bob is the best at knowing Audis and fixing them right the first time. These cars are expensive and complex; take yours to this pro. Listen to Bob also on the preventative maintenance stuff; it will save you money later! Although fixing and maintaining Audis isn’t cheap, Bob will do it better and faster than any dealer. Couldn’t be happier!

Have a 08 Audi A3 with 35k — warranty expired in June. Water pump failed 4 months later. Tried taking it to dealership and as usual the price to repair was incredibly high. Called Bob one afternoon, relayed my issues and dropped the car
off that evening. Bob had the car back to us in a day and fixed additional items as well… all for far less then the dealership. Highly recommended. Thank you Bob.

I think it may be the best recommendation I’ve ever received, the guy is amazing!
They just don’t make them like him anymore, he knows his stuff, he’s honest and you don’t have to ask him to show you the parts because he automatically does. Did I forget to mention that his prices are half of what the dealer wanted to charge me?
It was a pretty involved repair and the car felt like new when I got it back, he even added 2 quarts of oil for me. Simply great, I have a mechanic for life.

If you want to take your car to a trusted auto shop, this is the place. I have used Bob at Precision Motorsport many times with my older Audi A4 and he has always been honest and upfront on what my car needs to get back to proper driving condition! Not to mention he always gives me the best and cheapest options to fix whatever issue is wrong. Take your car to him and you will not be sorry. I HIGHLY recommend there work.

I have since added another Audi to my family fleet and part of that decision had to do with knowing I have a great mechanic. Bob recently added a seceond Audi Trained mechanic to his shop who used to work at one of the local dealers. This is good news, since Bob can take on more work now.

This is my second Audi in Hermosa Beach (it’s been about 10 years) and I’m really happy Bob is still around. 1) He’s an Audi pro 2) He’s honest 3) he does great work 4) he’s got an incredible amount of experience 5) his prices are great.
I just took my 2009 A4 to him for Audi’s recommended 15 000 mile servicing. Audi charges $ 400 for this. I’m not going to say what I paid, but it was a lot less and I would have gladly paid more. Personally I think Bob is a better mechanic than the guys at Pacific Audi.
It was like getting a Nordstrom’s product at a Target price. Now you have to book a few days in advance because he’s usually busy, but it’s well worth it.
