The Green Store

I’ve lived steps away from this store long since it was owned by the previous owners and I was sooooo glad to see the renovation. Beautifully done and way more inviting. Sandwiches are great and the Jackson club is one of my go-​to eats when I dont feel like cooking. However, I’ve been noticing the prices constantly going up, seemingly above that of «normal» convenience store prices… at least on the items I buy most. Deli is up, wine and craft beers way up. (Just paid $ 16 for a 4 pack of 16 oz Wold Among Weeds… WHOAH!) This has been something several of my neighbors have noticed over the past year or more too.
I love the location, love the quality, selection could be better but I understand the space challenges when the deli was added so fair exchange there. But prices are getting to the point where the extra 5 min walk to Boccatos is worth it if time isnt an issue.

This place is pretty yummy! It’s pretty much an everything in one store. You got your little café, liquor store, rentals for a bunch of other stuff, etc.
I went here to eat lunch and did a customized sammich.
I got an oven roasted turkey sammich on wheat with provolone, avocado, sprouts, baby spinach and honey mustard. I also got it lightly toasted. It was about $ 9.99 and a dollar extra for avocado.
It came out in about 10 minutes, but they do not mess around with the portions! I love it!
The sammich was delicious. I’m actually making my own version for my lunch this week because it was so refreshing: p.
Their outdoor seating is comfortable and nice, BUT, it’s really dirty. There’s bird poop all over the cushions and what not.
Other than that, a nice little gem!

Ok. stopped in here again and the sandwich was GREAT! BUT! When i went to pay the cashier was extremely rude and unprofessional. I think his name was Wally. He really needs to learn how to treat customers or pretty soon they wont have any customers. I handed him the money in his hand and when he gave me back my change he just tossed it on the counter. They really need to get Lana back in her before its too late!!!

Been here a few times in the last year. Great sandwich options and Llana is always helpful.

Great location. Very convenient. Super helpful owner/​operators. I’m a fan of this place!
They were very helpful in finding me a nice bottle of wine at a reasonable price. They also made a custom smoothie for my little guy. I’m also a big fan of the LevelUp payment system which saves you and the store money! Check it out!

The food at this place is amazing, but they are always understaffed and the seating area gets really messy due to no bus person. The experience my friend and I had yesterday morning with the man at the register was unpleasant and caused us to cancel our order. He was very confused and didn’t seem to know what he was doing at all. One of the issues was that he put our order in together and then said he couldn’t split it between two cards but wouldn’t start over to put the order in separately. He mocked us, told us we were making no sense and then started helping the next people in line before he had resolved our issue. That is not how the service industry works. I hope he gets a bit more training on customer service, the computer system and his terrible attitude.
Also, go elsewhere for coffee. They advertise Peets, but I have major doubts that is what is served.

My elderly father, niece and I stopped in here today to pick up two sandwiches to go and a newspaper. The gentleman helping us was very friendly and accommodating. We asked if my father could sit on the patio to read the paper for about fifteen minutes while I took my niece to the swings. He was so kind to let us do that and even came out to check on my dad to see if he needed anything. And the sandwiches were very good!!! Will definitely be back!

I am a huge fan of Jackson Market, so I was super stoked to find out the JM team had taken on the Green Store! Situated super close to the beach and easy in-​and-​out dining options make this ideal for foot traffic. It has been hopping every time I have gone, but it runs smoothly and efficiently. Sandwich ordered and less than 5 minutes later in-​hand! I love the customizable options and the Boars Head meats :)

Started coming here on July 4^th weekend, a time where at the beach, moving your car on a Friday means you wouldn’t find parking again until Tuesday afternoon. I’m glad i stopped in though because I discovered the BEST BBQ brisket panini.
Aside from that, the lattes are good, the people are friendly and I can’t get enough of the comfy patio outside!

This is a cute little spot. Small patio with a beach breeze. The owner and employees were all very nice.
I had the customer veggie wrap. It was very fresh and they listened when I asked for light dijon mustard which made me happy. The price is what you would expect from a café next the the beach.
I would recommend trying the place out. They have a great selection of juices, salads, wraps, sandwiches, burritos, breakfast and more.

Woman who runs the place is so phony Always fake in her Half assed attempt to be nice.
More importantly she needs help out front but (i’m guessing) is to money grubbing to pay for it.
Flies all over you and your food while you eat.
Lame.
The quality of the food is OK. But if you want any type of Service or consideration from the staff I would pick somewhere else for sure.
I completely understand when the place is busy and the person in front is overwhelmed. But to blatantly lie to a customer to try to cover your ass (as in my final visit) is just bullsh! t and unnecessary. Also infuriating to some of us.
Get it together green store. Everyone knows you’re making S-​tons of money.
How about hire some people to work for you when it’s a weekend in the summer.

I’ve been wanting to try this place forever and yesterday my boyfriend and I finally went!
The store is adorable with a beautiful little outdoor patio and has tons of comfy outdoor furniture to sit on and drink your coffee /​eat lunch. When you enter they have a large sandwich counter where you can fill out a little piece of paper to create your own sandwich, salad, or panini. They also had some breakfast options like bagels, omelets, ect. that looks pretty tasty as well.
I went with a salad and loaded up on all my favorite veggies– sun-​dried tomato, avocado, hummus, pesto, sprouts, cucumber, bell pepper. literally a vegatarians dream! I also got a scoop of their tuna salad on the side which was amazing. For only 8 dollars it was a huge portion with tons of super fresh ingredients, you definitely get your moneys worth.
Aside from being a sandwich/​salad shop– the liquor store has all the tradition things you would find like beer, wine, coffee, and a lot of unique little goods like vegan cookies, fresh pressed juices, and they even had a fridge with homemade guacamole, salsas, and hummus! Yum
This place would be the perfect spot to head to and fill a cooler with some bomb food then head to the beach with. Or like i mentioned above the outdoor patio was the perfect little spot to sit and have a quick bite. Loved it & will 100% be back!

The greatest store ever! Lana, is awesome. Good food, great beer selection, and an awesome patio to chill out and drink at. Nice ocean view too!

This place is the perfect stop when you are walking or biking on the Strand! They have an amazing selection of sandwiches, wraps, drinks, salads, you name it! The staff is always very friendly, and there’s a nice patio area with very comfy chairs for you to enjoy your food.

I went there for a Sunday lunch just because Martha’s was too busy. Since I had found a hair in my dish at Martha’s before, I didn’t feel like giving the place 2^nd chance waiting in such a long line.
Turned out that the Green Store had much better food!
I am so glad I tried this place.
Sandwiches and side menu all tasted great and the staffs were nice.
I don’t think anyone cleans the table outside and it can be really gross which is why I took out 1 star.

I’m not sure what the hypes about. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great shop, but I just didn’t find anything too special about it. I imagine Green Store being extremely convenient for those who live in the area. Great wine and meat selection. Mediocre cheese selection and All the snacks were a bit over prices in my opinion. I bought a chocolate bar for $ 5.50. None of the items have price tags and I felt bad giving it back. I asked how much a little jar of truffles were and it was $ 20!
Ask for prices before you purchase!

I was playing volleyball when a few of the people in the group showed up with delicious looking sandwiches and fresh juice. When I asked where the food was from, they said «The Green Store,» and I instantly got an image in my head of the old liquor store that I had only ever been in before to get quarters for the parking meter. They filled me in that the store had been renovated and now had a Jackson Market & Deli located inside, which is apparently a great deli in Culver City that I had never heard of.
You better believe that the next time I played volleyball I finished my beach day with a trip to The Green Store. WOW did they do an amazing job renovating it! They created a zen patio with a limited amount of seating. The patio is adorable! Inside it is far busier than I could have ever guessed. I felt a little lost at first because I had no clue how to place my order. Apparently you write your order on a sheet of paper and then stick it on a table located behind the deli. I ordered a vegetarian Panini and grabbed one of their fresh squeezed beet juices.
The store has done an amazing job turning around their product line and they are now equipped with a full wall of beer/​soda/​water/​drinks; tons of wine; enough cheese for a few amazing cheese boards; specialty snacks (think «healthier» chips, gluten free cookies, etc.); fresh baked goods; fresh salads; deli salads, etc. etc. It is really quite amazing how much good stuff they could fit in one tiny store. They even have a small section for souvenirs, or personal toiletries/​medications.
I was very pleasantly surprised with the «new» Green Store and will be back again!

I love a good sandwich and I’m sick of all the ones close by home and work. So, gave this spot a try today. I was worried about the time some Unilocalers have waited, because I was hungry. Couldn’t wait half an hour for a sammie. Good news!!! 10 minutes max!
I had the ham and turkey with provolone on multi grain ciabatta! Just perfect!!!
All kinds of good stuff floating around to try, from cool chips to desserts. Looks like a good brekkie spot as well if Martha’s is packed.
On my home rotation for sure. Parking can be tough on weekends, but service was friendly and today… Quick!

What a great little neighborhood store/​café! This place is in a perfect spot and fits the «Best Little Beach» vibe. They have a good variety of menu items as well as craft beer & wines. My husband really enjoyed his breakfast sandwich (choose all your toppings… PLENTY are offered) and I liked the chocolate croissant and fresh juice (got the green one for $ 3.95). This place smells like a bakery too!!! YUM… buttery =P
They did a great job with the patio area. The seats are comfy and they have big umbrellas. Watch out for the flies though… the trash can next to the patio/​street is kind of gross.
I’m docking a star bc it wasn’t clear when & where you’re supposed to pay. It got crowded having a bunch of people standing in the middle of the store… some trying to figure out where to order and others not sure where to pay or get coffee. Signage might help?
NOTE — This is directly across from Martha’s which gets PACKED. If you’re not lucky enough to live within walking/​biking distance, parking can be horrendous. GOOD LUCK!

Loved this place! Came here twice in a 3-​day weekend for lunch when we needed a quick break from the beach! There is always a constant crowd or flow of people. There is limited seating outside once you order some food, so you may get lucky. But great location, a neighborhood favorite.
Sandwiches, wraps, salads/​homemade salads, breakfast, etc. There’s a great variety of food here. I had the caprese panini on day 1 and a custom sandwich on day 2. I would have given 5 days except both sandwiches I ordered were wrong. I had checked to add chicken to the caprese and did not receive. Same goes for my custom sandwich. If I make my own, I’d like to have everything on it!!! Cole slaw and potato salads were also tasty as a side on a hot day! Would definitely recommend if you’re near this location!
Also have all kinds of beer and drinks for ya too.
