Baldino’s Lock & Key Service

The short version:
After 2 trips to Baldino’s, they put no effort into solving my problem, and would not refund the money that they charged me for an overpriced key that did not work. Save your money, take your lock issues to a locksmith, not to Baldino’s
The long version:
I recently purchased an expensive lock after doing some research on the Internet. The manufacturer says the key should be able to be copied anywhere. I took my key to Home Depot and purchased several copies. All of them opened the lock, but none of them turned easily. I returned the keys and went to Lowes. Same issue. I returned the key and finally decided to go to a lock smith for expert help. This is how I ended up at Baldino’s.
I walked into the store, set my key on the counter and began to explain the situation to the woman working there. She seemed totally uninterested in what I was saying, turned and started to copy the key. She then handed me the key and charged me a whopping $ 5.00 for the single key. Ok whatever… if it works I really don’t care that it was 5x more expensive than Home Depot.
I take the key home and try it. Same problem as all of my $ 1.00 keys. I called the manufacturer of the lock and asked what to do. They said any actual locksmith should be able to closely examine the keys and figure out what the problem is. So I took the key back to Baldino’s. The woman spent about 3 seconds looking at the two keys and then told me that she already cut the key with the machine, and so she doesn’t know what to tell me. I explained that the manufacturer told me to take the key to a locksmith for examination, and she said there’s nothing she can do. I asked for my money back, and she said she can only do that if I have the originally used credit card with me. I did not, since I was expecting to leave with a new key, not a refund. I told her that I am not coming back here a 3^rd time and to just keep my money if she will not refund it. I will take my business to a real locksmith.
While they stole my money, I can only hope that this review costs them at least $ 5.00 in customers who go somewhere else after reading this review.
