I gave 1 star just because they are there. I intensely dislike going to Stater’s, I cook and bake and they never have anything I need. Right now my husband is shopping and he can’t find pineapple juice. Very poor choices on the jello and pudding aisle. One time when I went to check out there was no one in line and I waited 6 minutes while the checker visited with a friend, she never even looked at me once. I couldn’t even speak I was so upset. The management, if there is one is not even getting a 1 rating. Well, I got that off my chest but it still doesn’t give a grocery store to shop at.

I can only imagine Stater Bros corporate has this location at the bottom of their priority list. Management are clearly unhappy and lacking incentive. The produce section is often offensive. The tiny organic section is always abysmal despite a huge and unanswered demand for it in the area. My guess is this is the last stop the truck makes and this location gets the bottom of the barrel. It is disappointing because there are so many local farmers up here, there could be a really cool locally grown organic section. They could also bring in humanely raised local meat that wasn’t drenched in hormones and antibiotics(and adrenaline from a lifetime of abuse from corporate farming practices). But they don’t, there’s no clean meat here. Well, there is, but it’s like the organic vegetables — very little selection and you have to look hard to find it– and even then, the source is questionable. In fact, you have to look hard to find anything that does not have a long list of chemicals on the label. The product they do get in that is clean is gone very quickly. It is surprising that this goes unnoticed, but as I said management aren’t really motivated so I can’t blame them. The Fresh Tortilla Bar hoolpa is actually just a front for shipped in precooked tortillas, I don’t know why they bother. The deli is a sodium and additive nightmare. Why they bothered to open this new location is beyond me. This area does not need any more processed food pushing stores like this, never mind mega sized ones that are badly run and clearly not treating their local employees at all well. We are so lucky to have grocery stores in America, we can do better than this.

I like the fact that this location is a larger store with a bakery and taqueria inside. I do most of my shopping at other stores, but still frequent this location for certain items. I like the width of the aisles, as it makes the store seem less cramped. I like the discounts on wine and other liquor. I like that Stater Bros. has lower prices than many other name-brand chain grocery stores. Lately I have had only positive experiences with the employees, both inside and out. Aside: I always take my cart back to where it belongs. Lately, employees will come up to me in the parking lot and, without seeming«pushy,» offer to take it back for me. Additional bonus: The employees no longer take their«smoking» breaks right outside of the entrances. The one thing that irritates me about this store is the fluorescent lighting over the produce section. Quit trying to trick me with your fancy lights, put out a decent product, and I’ll buy it.

I live fairly close to this location, just down the street, and every time I visit this store I am shocked by the poor attitudes of the employees here, every person that I encountered at this store had such a bad attitude, not smiling unfriendly etc, the checker I had(moses) never greeted me, no smile just told my total for my purchase, no thank you, barely any eye contact :(I wont be back Stater Bros

Birthday ruined! I went to the bakery and told them my mother in law bought my father in law a Boston Cream Pie at Stater Brothers and it was filled with whipped cream with just Bavarian cream«patches» on the outside, and was wondering if they could make one the traditional way and make me one with just Bavarian cream in the middle. They assured me they could and the next day on my way to my father in laws birthday dinner I picked up one just like my mother in law described. Full of whipped cream with patches of bavarian cream on the outside. The next day I returned, explained what I had received and the same baker acted shocked(again) and said she would make me another cake free of charge without whipped cream, she said she would make it herself with just Bavarian cream(the correct way). The next day it looked liked the same cake, but the baker assured me the«patches» were the whipped cream this time. My father in law(who is a doctor) felt that someone was being an A-hole because once again the Boston Cream Pie was loaded with whipped cream, mind you it had a bit more Bavarian cream, but it was basically the same cake. The frosting was like thick unmelted fudge, and too sweet for an ant farm. I was lied to twice, and disappointed a beloved member of my family because I couldn’t trust a baker to properly make one of the simplest cakes in the world. Look up Boston Cream Pie on the Internet, and look at the images. Guess what? No whipped cream in the middle. Not only was the Boston Cream Pie made improperly, it was made improperly twice after speaking face to face to a baker, and telling her exactly what I want. So just assume your never going to get what you want, and everything they make is pure crap, and you’ll never be surprised. DONOTTRUST A BIRTHDAYTOTHISBAKERY! I used to be a lead baker in San Diego, yes, I baked for a living, and I can tell you for a fact, A SIXYEAROLDCANBAKEBETTERTHANTHESEPEOPLE! What an insult! DONTWASTEANYOFYOURTIME!

Waiting at the deli. There were 3 associates working when I walked up. One girl saw me waiting then went to the other side for break. The associate still serving someone didn’t aknowledge me, then when she finished she helped the coworker first. Bad service. Left me waiting. The other associate also skipped me to help someone who walked up to the bakery at leat 5 minutes after I’d been standing there. One girls name was marisella. I had a wait long enough to get irritated, download Unilocal and post before she said hello.

I am a Von’s shopper and I love our local Von’s, but I have to admit that I come to Stater Bros for the bakery. I have always loved the cakes and the adorable things they offer daily on their bakery. If you need to find something special last minute they will have something that looks like a million dollars, but only costs you a few. My nephew had a birthday during the week AMD nobody thought to order him a cake. Auntie to the rescue. I ran to Stater Bros and found adorable sesame street cupcakes for $ 1.50 each. He loved them and everyone thought I got them at a speciality shop. When you do order your items ahead they will listen to all your needs and make sure you have exactly what you want. I have two boys and they like to pick abnormal party themes. My cakes have always matched and I’ve always been happy. The rest of the store is just so so and normally the employees can be annoying. Refusing to sell me alcohol because my 22 year old sister was with me. She had her purse in the car so we took out business elsewhere.

I have always liked Stater Bros. I used to always shop at the Stater Bros in La Habra, when I lived in that city and loved the customer service. Here in Hesperia it is quite different. The cashiers dont acknowledge you, seems like they are always mad, like they just had a fight with their spouse that morning or night before and brought that bad energy into the workplace. However I do have to mention that the counter girl at the hot food station made me a happy customer and gets the 2 stars all to herself today by offering to make a fresh batch of chicken and wedges for me with a smile. Please cashiers learn from her(dont know her name) and then do your job right. No one is forcing you to work. If you are irritated stay home.

Very nice bakery however they should find somewhere else for the employees to smoke besides right outside the entrance doors. I don’t mind smokers but outside the grocery store when you work there is unprofessional.

Stater Bros is not my favorite supermarket though they do have some plus points. A good bakery(enjoy their cookies) fresh fruit and veggies at a descent price …and that’s where it ends. It’s always full, the check out lines crazy long, service minimal, prices higher than most other supermarkets and not a huge selection.

We went in for Carne Asada last night after lake trip(9⁄14). First thing, Meat-Lady wearing Skipper hat having conversation with a girl that was… well not professional about«getting that thing worked over» later that night. I’m very whatever about sex… do what makes you happy, but it’s not exactly professional. Ok whatever, they’re meat clerks not ICU nurses. Asked for extra marinade because it was very light on the meat. The«Meat Lady» wearing the Skippers cap left the meat on the scale and then proceeded to pour more marinade on the meat — it went from $ 17.00 to $ 21.00 with a cup of marinade. We were paying for meat… not liquid weight. If you’re going to charge for extra marinade just say so, but don’t try and charge me meat prices for a cup of marinade. There’s a difference between weights, Skipper! You don’t charge an extra $ 4.00 to meat weight for adding juice unless there’s some good booze in it! We complained. Skipper: «Sorry, there’s cameras here and the manager said we have to do this.» We go to the front and ask to talk to the manager. He refuses to come out. They send a nervous young flunky Pre-manager that is afraid to talk to us and turns his back to his register. Finally someone from the meat department brings the meat back… repackaged with $ 3.00 off and a bag of juice!!! They squeezed the fkn juice out of the meat and re-weighed it!!! I felt like I was in the fukn twilight zone! You squeezed the marinade out of the meat and re-weighed it! WTF!!! I worked for Staters in HS… WTF happened to management here? We told them to take their marinade squeezed meat back to the meat department. Want to guess what they did with the meat we sent back after they squeezed the juice out… right back in the case. We went to WalMart and got steak to marinade ourselves for cheaper. It’s not the $ 4.00 — it’s the principle and HORRIBLE customer service and handling a situation like it was BIZZARO world. Good luck finding another union job a-holes when WalMart puts all of you out of work — this is the kind of sh*t that is killing good unions. Unprofessional and poorly managed employees.

So happy this stores customer service completely changed when they went into their new location. The old location was terrible but this new location has made them do an entire 360. I will shop here over any other store just for their customer service.

This Stater Bros does a super job of competing with all the Super Targets and Walmart Supercenters opening up. It took over the old Albertsons space, and it has EVERYTHING. Full service everything — deli, floral, bakery, hot food, seafood, self-serve coffee… Everything. There is even a counter to order freshly made guacamole, ceviche, and aguas frescas, which is great if you don’t want to drive all the way to the Vallarta market. Freshly fried, delicious tortilla chips too… the good kind where the grease almost seeps through the bag. It’s a very pretty, well set-up store, and so clean. The produce section is expansive, with bagged items in refrigerated cases with doors. It also has more obscure, harder-to-find ethnic foods and products from Mexico, such as huge banana leaves. The only complaint I have about this new store is that the liquor selection kinda sucked. What grocery store doesn’t have Wild Turkey? The wine selection was limited and lame, too. Other than that, it’s a pretty, huge store with everything you need. The employees were very friendly, even on Thanksgiving Day!
