So gross! Both menus I was given were coated in hardened marina sauce and my food was served cold. Not to mention, the inside makes it look like it hasn’t made a dime in years. So disappointed

I have probably been to Gianno’s at least 50 times over the past two decades, and I can honestly say it is still my absolute favorite Italian food in the area. In fact, contrary to some other reviewers, I think there are certain things about it that have actually improved since Sammy G sold the business probably five years ago or so. I don’t understand the assertion that it has gone downhill, by any stretch of the phrase. The traditional dishes are still superb, with large portions and great flavor at some very good prices. My favorite thing on the entire menu is the Eggplant Napoleon, which consists of several large thing slices of eggplant breaded and fried, and then covered in a delicious boursin cheese sauce and baked in the oven over pasta marinara. Absolutely scrumptious, and it costs less than $ 12 including a salad or my favorite… french onion soup. Another, less traditional, dish i recommend in the Chicken Bruschetta Florentine, which is two large chicken breasts covered in their tomato Bruschetta, topped with boursin cream sauce, and then baked with a side of your choosing(I like some fettucine alfredo with it). The house italian dressing is a must try on their dinner salad, i recommend asking for a side of cheddar cheese, it really accentuates the flavor on the dressing which if the lettuce is a bit wet from the salad crisper can tend to thin out. But if you’re really in the mood for a hearty meal, you can always get your meal with french onion soup… and they do it right. It comes in a small bubbling brown cauldron topped with browned gruyère cheese. There is a slice of baguette in it, but if you need more, breaking up some of their garlic dinner rolls and soaking up the broth comes highly recommended by me. To top it off, every weekday and on Sunday they do a lunch pizza buffet. The buffet features a full salad bar, a pizza section which rotates 8 – 10 pizzas, and then a small dessert area where you will find dessert pizza or monkey bread. I should also note you can request any pizza you want for the bar. Try a baked spaghetti pizza for a treat! All this said, you’re not going to find quality Italian food this good at very many places in the triad, and at a good price. I highly recommend Gianno’s to anyone looking for their favorites.

I absolutely love Gianno’s! They always have fresh, delicious and authentic dishes! I love their pizzas, but for me the Create your own pasta has always been my favorite! I have created the bow tie pasta with capers, Alfredo sauce, black olives, green peas and grilled chicken many times and it never disappoints! Their eggplant Parmesan and lasagna is authentic, freshly made and you can tell they truly care about their food. I love heir Caesar salad and the dressing is not a prepackaged one! The greens are crisp and refreshing as well. The service is excellent, but if you’re running short on time, they also do take out too! I have yet to finish one dish so I love being able to enjoy it the next day or later that night as a snack. This place is always on the top of my list when I’m in High Point and the fact they’re on Eastchester makes them easy to find too!

I showed up about an hour earlier than my mom. My server was completely accommodating and didn’t seem to mind. Great service and great food!

Good solid place. Not a chain and not«industrial quality» Italian food. You can find the old standbys as well as some lighter tasty Italian fare. Pretty good seafood selection, interesting daily specials. Not your parents pasta and pizza joint.

My other favorite place to visit while attending High Point Market. The manager is extremely professional and friendly and remembered me from my previous visit months ago. The food was so good and the staff was so friendly that we booked them for a breakfast catering opportunity that was just as delicious as the restaurant. I HIGHLY recommend this place! My favorites are the steak and create your own pasta.

A fantastic Italian restaurant that seemingly goes unnoticed by many! I’ve been frequenting Gianno’s for many years and I’d have to say it’s the best Italian meal on a consistent basis! This past visit had me worried as we were seated right away on a not so busy Friday night. After being seated though, we sat for nearly 15 minutes without anyone even acknowledging we were there! After asking the manager if they were too busy to even start our service, we quickly were waited on by our waitress. After redeeming our free bruschetta appetizer for checking in on Unilocal, the manager returned with a quickly prepared free calamari appetizer! I have to hand it to the staff for quickly making up for a obvious oversight! Their calamari is decent, but it’s never been my favorite. Perhaps though it tasted a bit better this time due to their apparent apology! The bruschetta on the other hand was quite tasty and something I would order again! We stuck to some of our tried and true favorites which were, Charleston Chicken and Chicken Parmesan. The Charleston is like all of their dishes, large in portion and rich in taste! The cream sauce that bathes the chicken and bow tie pasta is even more enhanced by the bacon and tomatoes! The Chicken Parmesan is not your standard, it’s large with a nice grilled smokey flavor with real mozzarella and fabulous house made sauce! I got the side of cheese ravioli with it, which was a nice way to sample their ravioli. On what started as my first rocky experience at Gianno’s, finished with the usual satisfaction that comes from a good Italian meal! This southern gentleman appreciated the efforts of the staff and the goodness that comes from that kitchen!

Food was great. We started out with the free bruschetta we got by using our Unilocal coupon. It was very tasty. I had fettuccine with garlic alfredo sauce and my wife had the veal parmigiana with pasta. Both dishes were very large portions for the price. We will definitely return.

No. No. A thousand times no. near work, so it’s kinda a «go-to» place. Today was the worst, though. Hostess told us there would be a 10 minute wait but since we were on our lunch hour, we asked if we could sit at the bar. Apparently that was what everyone did… so…there was a bunch of empty tables near the bar; I can only assume that they were not seating people so the waitress in that area could get caught up. what happened instead is that we all sat at the bar and so she remained overwhelmed. Which is bad enough by itself, but The food is horrible. It’s just bland and I don’t know how to describe it. It’s just not good. We were in a hurry so we opted for the salad bar/pizza bar. A little salt and pepper would have helped(not saved it, though). Too bad we couldn’t get any from our overwhelmed waitress. The pizza bar remained mostly devoid of pizza and a guy yelling repeatedly from the back, «I KNOW I NEEDPIZZA!» The clincher was when we were leaving and we heard the hostess drop the«F Bomb» to a fellow worker. Not ok on any level.

So disappointed — have been a customer for over 10+ years and had several event at this place. It has gone downhill in the last few years. I still go and order take out. Just picked up a Giannos salad –ADD– Blackened chicken= $ 12. Well, I get there see my salad and it has 4 small, random small pieces of chicken, what am I paying $ 12 for — lettuce and veggies? Used to be a great salad with lots of chicken and veggies — sad.

How this place doesn’t rock a solid 5 stars makes no sense to me. Perhaps we came on one of their best nights ever? Food was fantastic(baked spaghetti/meatballs, cheese ravioli, Caesar salad, caramel cheesecake) Drinks from April were awesome but the cream of it all was the service tonight. Not only was it friendly and professional but everyone made us feel so welcome with smiles, genuine«thank you’s» upon departure and eagerness to help without being overbearing. They made you want to be there; to be at their restaurant and they acted like we were in their home and they were the most wonderful hosts I’d ever met. Thank you Giannos and specifically April, Javier, Crystal and Haley, the wonderfully friendly hostess in the bright yellow dress.

We’ve been looking for a go to lunch pizza buffet/salad bar restaurant ever since Brick Oven in Kernersville switched owners awhile back, and now I’m sure we’ve found it. The place is sorta upscale for a pizza joint, nicely decorate, bright and clean, and the booths are comfortable and well sized. The lunch buffet includes 6 or 7 different pizza, including Cheese, Pepperoni, Italian Sausage, Ham & Pineapple, BBQ, and more. This is thin crust pizza, and we enjoyed all we tried except the BBQ, a little strange taste there. The crust is excellent, the tomato sauce with a nice flavor. The buffet is $ 7.25. The salad bar is well done with a variety of greens, and fixings, including a great Bow Tie & Green Pea Pasta Salad. The Blue Cheese Dressing is very nice also. The lunch buffet runs from 11AM to 2PM, except on Sat. The regular lunch menu offers a variety of Apps, Sandwiches, Wraps, and Pasta Dishes. Whole pie can be order as well, after the buffet ends at 2. Service was excellent. We’ll definitely be back.

We had a large group here, and they were very accommodating. I had the seafood pasta, and it hit the spot when I was indecisive about what to get. It had scallops, shrimp, and crabcakes on top of angel hair and had just the right amount of sauce for it. The rest of the large group enjoyed their dinner too, and there were no complaints.

This restaurant is not good for me. I’ve not been happy in the past, but I thought I’d give it another try. It’s always so busy. I had the seafood diablo. It was overly spicy(hot) and very acidic. It was«Tums» all night to relieve the heartburn. I doubt I’ll go back again.

FROZEN food, BOXED pasta at an «Italian» restaurant, what a joke. Scallops were almost inedible, so chewy actually had a hard time cutting with my knife!!! Pasta tasted like wood, again chewy and was sitting in a pool of water with some frozen peas added for color. Wine list consisted of overpriced cheap wine from Walmart! Not to mention the bartender didn’t even know if Pinot Nior was white or red wine! I would have rated this place 0 stars but they get 1 for their garlic rolls. #wannabechain DONOTEATHERE!

I have visited Giannos several times throughout the last one or two years. The building is always clean, although the parking lot is small, but does share a lot with an outdoor strip mall. We all usually seated quickly and have our drinks taken in a timely manner. This most recent visit we had a large party, which we had called ahead and given ample time in advance notice, the day before. From start to end of the meal, the service was EXTREMELY lacking. Our drink orders were wrong and several people got the wrong drinks. I ordered a beer, multiple times, and never received it. There were many empty glasses for an extended period of time throughout the meal. We were told there were three waiters/waitresses helping us but we only saw two, mostly just one. I can forgive the service if Giannos was packed, but we were literally the only table in the restaurant for half the time we were there. The only positive on this trip was my entrée, the stromboli. It was cooked perfectly, loaded with ham, pepperoni, cheese and more. The crust was crisp and delicious. I would consider rating Giannos higher if the quality of the food was always this good, but its not. The other visits had mediocre to sub-par quality at best. I also got food poisoning from a prior visit. Consistency is something I value and demand as a customer paying for a service, especially food. I don’t understand why I’ve given this restaurant several chances to redeem itself because it never happens. The only reason i visited the restaurant on this date was due to family wanting to eat there. I guess I’m going to put a fork in Giannos, I’m done with it.

Dinner Sep 29 Great dinner and service yet again. Tried some new dishes this time and all were outstanding! Lasagna was more than 1 person could eat(as was the Chicken Parm). Create your own pasta — penne with meat sauce & mushrooms and ground Italian sausage was to die for! This is my 3rd dinning experience and all 3 have been very very good!

Gianno’s has some of the best pasta I’ve ever had. Their bread is really good, but the penne with meat sauce really makes the entire experience. The prices are a bit steep for dinner, but lunch prices are reasonable. The wait staff has always been friendly and my spouse and I have enjoyed several pleasant meals here.

I give two stars. Half a star for the draft beer prices, half a star for the bread and garlic butter and one for the calamari which is always delicious. We used to be regulars at this place, but since December we have only been one time. I don’t know what happened to this place, but we have marked it off the list of places to eat in High Point. Apparently everyone else has too, because at 6:30 on a Friday night, there used to be a thirty minute wait. This last Friday, there were open tables and no one coming in the door. Now let’s break down the meal– Ordered calamari for an appetizer — delicious. Ordered a Philly steak and cheese and fries for him & eggplant Parmesan for me. The Philly cheese steak was one part meat, three parts bread… And very dry. The fries were limp and drenched with grease. The side salad that I ordered with my meal came out with its normal half inch of water in the bottom. Yuck. Then, my third bite in, I bit into a piece of glass. Told the manager and she took it away to «pick apart» in the back, and she NEVERRETURNED. So needless to say, didn’t get another salad. The eggplant was fried until it was dry, but somehow still wasn’t cooked. If I wanted subpar eggplant parm, i would have made a frozen dinner at home. We returned both of our plates, and got the bill. Meals were comped, but I would have rather enjoyed my night out to eat, than have a bill of drinks and squid. Wish the manager gave a crap — maybe the place wouldn’t be failing. See ya, never again, Giannos!
