I like Brake Team. They know brakes and usually only do what is needed. In my case, they correctly diagnosed the fact that the brake fluid was contaminated (by yours truly) when I accidentally added a small amount of power steering fluid to the reservoir almost a year earlier. I know this caused them a lot of extra work but they were very gracious and had a new master cylinder installed for me the very next day. They use Duralast Gold parts, which are AutoZone’s premium line. They do mark these parts up, but considering the flat rate of $ 88 per axle, they need to make a profit somewhere! This new location is oddly squeezed in next to a Les Schwab outlet. They are remodeling it and I hope they continue to build a good reputation. One wish I have is for them to publish a phone number for the shop and not just an administrative office. They seem to have the
web site now, so that would be a good place to put some real contact info. Sill, brake team has always been a drop-​in kind of place, so get there early in the day and they will take good care of you!

I typically do my own car work but since I’m here for school, I don’t have my tools.
So I came in to Brake Team to get an estimate after getting a terrible over estimate at Les Schwab. Les Schwab wanted to replace all brake pads, rotors and calipers on my vehicle for around 800 dollars total. I definitely knew I didn’t need to replace everything because I recently replaced my own brake pads.
Emilio was friendly and honest when he looked at my brakes. Said nothing had to be replaced except the inner brake pad on the front axle which was due to a sticky slider pin. So I got my front brakes fixed and replaced for $ 88. Brake pad sets usually come in sets of 4 so the price was acceptable. Thanks Emilio for being friendly, hardworking and honest. Will definitely come here again!

I’ve worked with Brake Team in Portland in the past and never really had a great experience. Things always felt sketchy and I never knew if I was being treated fairly. Well… It was time to have my brakes looked at again so I wasn’t looking forward to trying them again… But I’m on a budget.
I have to say that I had a great experience working with Dave. I’ve never had an inspection that didn’t take hours too long. But Dave did the inspection quickly, had an estimate for me quickly, and then had the work done when he said he would. I didn’t know this kind of efficiency and customer service existed in this industry. But it does. They’re under new management and it shows. I look forward to working with Dave for any future auto work and highly recommend this location.
