Dr Sole & Mr Heel

Well don’t take your favorite shoes here. Went in for a heel tip replacement and it looks like they barbecued my shoe. I think they gouged it as there is a chunk missing that has been filled in and then they tried to hide it by covering it with some flakey black mess. No apology or explanation.

I took my favorite pair of daily use boots here to get fixed and WOW, he did a fantastic job!!! The soles of the boots were partially pulled off of the uppers and instead of just trying to sew the old stuff back on and put everything back together, he pulled everything off and remade the bottom of the boots to a quality that far surpassed the original. They look better now than they did when I bought them! He even added little protectors nailed to the bottom of the boots that will protect the new soles so that when they wear down, I know it’s time to bring the boots back to get serviced again to keep them in great shape. Very, very pleased! Would highly recommend this shop.

Mr. Wang can work miracles! I recently took a 2 year old pair of black leather boots here — the soles were worn & uneven as well as the leather being dull & faded. In only 1 weeks time he was able to put a new (and better then the original) sole on the boots as well as condition them. They look just like the day I bought them. I will absolutely be a return customer!

Fantastic service. He went above and beyond, and my shoes are better than the day I bought them. They are more comfortable, and I am very impressed by the extra work he put into them. Remembering to keep your ticket is the standard for cobblers. How else do they know whose $ 500 shoes they’re giving to you? I will be coming back often for shines and repairs.

So, I had these knee-​high brown leather boots that I loved. Unfortunately, I wasn’t very good at putting them away, and I sometimes let them flop over. This did a number on the zipper, and after about 2 years of owning the boots, one of the zippers completely busted, and I could tell the other was on the way out.
I was about to toss them until one of my friends suggested that I get them repaired. The thought hadn’t crossed my mind, but I did remember seeing some shoe repair signs in the downtown Hillsboro area. I called this place first, got a basic quote, and then called another place in an attempt to shop around, but they didn’t do zipper repair and recommended this place.
I’m not going to lie — the repair was expensive. $ 45/​boot for a total of $ 90. Only one of the zippers was fully busted, so I half considered only doing one, but then the zippers wouldn’t have matched, and I could tell that the 2^nd boot wasn’t going to make it another year. I bit the bullet due to the fact that getting another pair of boots like this would have been around $ 200, so it was cheaper than replacing them.
The guy who owns the place /​who did the repair made it VERY clear that I needed the ticket to pick my shoes back up after the repair. Additionally, he made it clear that he would call me, and he didn’t want me bugging him by calling and asking if they were done yet. Considering the fact that he emphasized these things, I could tell he felt pretty strongly about them.
He called me back less than a week later, and my boots were good as new. I’m happy with the repair job, and if I need something similar done, I’ll just plan on coming back here.

After over 15 years of trying different shoe repair shops all over Pdx we finally found someone who can not be matched at the level if workmanship and quality. Mark knows his trade and it shows. Fixed several pairs of designer shoes for the lady and a pair of boots for me. Superb!

Wow. Don’t lose your claim ticket. They did not want to return my shoes to me! I had to give my name, birthday, and two numbers plus other info plus show my ID. I was talked to sternly and told to find and bring back the ticket. Yeah. I will get right on that.

A tad pricey but this guy does an amazing job. Got power soles, toe and heel taps, and a shine.

You can tell when someone is really good at their trade. That’s the case when you walk in here and talk to the owner. He and the employees handled the shoes I brought in like they were appraising a trade. They knew exactly what they were doing. Which is very comforting when you bring in a bunch of $ 300-​$ 400 shoes. After about a week, my shoes were finished and they looked way better than they ever had and for a reasonable price. I definitely recommend.

I definitely recommend this place. I brought three pairs of shoes in and got them all back looking sooo much better. In addition to repairs, he’ll really spiff up your kicks with some polish. You won’t have to wait in line, and the owner is charming in a warm, grandfatherly way. He takes credit cards, and the pricing is extremely reasonable!

I was referred here from another shoe repair because it was a big job. The stretchy nylon strap on my wedge heels had loosened and my feet were falling out! Mark, the owner, did a fabulous job. It took a few trips of testing, but in the end it worked out. It became fall at that point so I couldn’t wear them, but with summer coming this year, I look forward to wearing my cute open toe shoes thanks to Mark! He’s friendly, funny, and has some adorable doggies. You will score points with him if you bring in your cowgirl boots, which I don’t own, but he may try to get you to change styles hahaha. The cost to add to worn heels is a bit more than other places, but if you have a few pairs that need it, I noticed there is a punch card that makes the last pair freebie. Don’t forget they don’t take credit cards.

The owner Mark repaired two pairs of boots for me — the metal shaft was sticking out of the heels from wear. He did a beautiful job! He also took the time to polish and buff them. They look brand new! Very reasonable prices and Mark is a very kind man. I will surely be going back and recommending to all my friends.
