Worst dining experience of my adult life. I couldn’t pay the $ 150 fast enough just to get out of the place. We ordered the surf and turf and the mahi. After the bartender spent 20 minutes trying to sell us a drink with jalapeños and complaining about her money situation, we received a grouper instead of the mahi, and a asparagus from my plate was dropped on my lap(considering the cost of the plate, it was probably worth about $ 8). The surf and turf was barely acceptable. Lobster seemed to have a refrigerated taste and no butter was served with it. The filet had a weird taste to it and seemed over seasoned. When the mahi finally made it, it seemed like every other bite had no taste. The manager showed up with a cell phone in his hand and in a confrontational manner asked if the mahi was good. To top it off, we were over-charged $ 8 for the plate we never ordered. I was in such a hurry to get the hell out we almost didn’t catch it. Over all, I’ve had a better experience at a Long John Silver, and a hell of a lot cheaper too. I don’t like leaving such negative reviews, but I’m just hoping it helps somebody out there avoid ruining a beautiful vacation with an awful dinner experience

This is my go to restaurant on the island, never disappointed here. A group of 10 of us went last Friday night and were sat in a very nice, cozy room which we had all to ourselves. The service was excellent, our waitress was knowledgable and friendly. They have a nice wine list and the food was excellent. I recommend the oysters savannah appetizer and the wienerschnitzel, both are excellent, especially when followed by the delicious crème brûlée. Everyone at the table was pleased with their selections. The only problem I had was picking between all of fabulous sounding selections!

Decided to try this since it was close to our hotel and had nice reviews on Unilocal. Our waitress was great — friendly, attentive and helpful. We were boring and both ordered the Scallops. These came with a bed of lobster mac and cheese. I normally don’t get the point of lobster mac and cheese, because it generally hides the taste of the lobster. Alexander’s, however, was very good. Lots of chunks of lobster which were not overpowered by the cheese. Scallops were exceptional. We started by sharing fried green tomatoes. They were very lightly breaded and tasted fine. They would have been better with a remoulade sauce vs. what was provided(pimento cheese — which seemed bizarre). Would definitely try Alexander’s again. Probably even better at lunch where I assume you have a nice view of the water. Too dark to see at night.

We had a great dinner at Aexander’s.I had the cilantro pineapple Mahi and it was delicious. The presentation was good. The best part of our meal was the service we received. Our waitress, Karina made it so enjoyable. She made sure everything was right especially with all of our food allergies. She joked with us and made us laugh. Great personality and great service. I would definitely come back to Alexander’s.

Very average food, but the atmosphere is good. Parmesan crusted tilapia was too heavy with bread crumbs in the crust, and potato croquettes with crab were the size of tennis balls with a thick bread crust that was just too much. There were more potatoes than fish. Wife had sea scallops that she rated a 4. It is walking distance to the Marriott. Service was friendly and attentive.

What an incredible meal we had at Alexander’s. We ordered the halibut special. The presentation was beautiful and the fish perfectly seasoned and prepared. Even the children’s menu included delicious options that were healthy. Our grandson loved the grilled shrimp served with rice and veggies. My husband ordered the filet, which was well seasoned and very tender. Our waiter was very friendly, but seemed to be pulled in many directions. At times we waited a bit long for service. However the food was perfect.

Fantastic restaurant! Came here for«date night» while vacationing on HHI with family. The shrimp and grits was amazing! Being from CT, I’m in no way an expert as to what shrimp and grits is supposed to taste like, but I can tell you that it was very delicious and the presentation was very nice. The gravy was spicy, the shrimp plenty and the grits were shaped into a patty upon which the shrimp, sausage and scallion were served. So good! My husband liked the filet as well. The service was quick and the venue was nice. I definitely recommend this restaurant. Enjoy!

I expected more. My family has been coming to HH for years. We dined here many years ago and had a memorable meal. This one was OK. not bad mind you… just not memorable. The restaurant is nice and the location and view are excellent. tables by wtih window to view the lagoon. Waiter seemed ho hum another night. we called ahead and learned of the 20 corking fee. kind of expected for the island. prob not necessary to birng wine since menu is good and affordable choices are there. we just know what we like and bring it to most places. we shared the fried calamari which i’m sure went from boxed prduct in deep freeze to the fryer and to my plate. not expected for a fine dining establshment. st james island oysters on the half shell were very fresh, small and void of taste. don’t bother. wait for the gulf oysters to come back in season if you like them. the lobster trio was good. small tail, diver scallops and shrimp with drawn butter on the side and a generous scoop of luke warm mashed potatoes. we quit there. on it’s own, the place is good. but we’re talking hilton head. a place that loves to cater the affluent and there are many other better places to spend your hard earned dollar. I hope they see this review and make a few small changes. I would love to come back and get have my socks… i mean flip flops… knocked off.

Excellent and with the money! Atmosphere is casual but upscale at the same time. Made a reservation with Opentable for same day. Sat with a view of the water. Started with the appetizer crab cakes. Excellent! We had the Tile Fish special and the Diver Scallops. Both were tasty, light and perfectly cooked and presented. We finished off with the Key Lime Pie; sweet and filling but not too heavy. Wait staff were attentive and professional. We will definitely come back

Fantastic meal at a fantastic place. I had the lobster trio(lobster, scallops, and shrimp), with kale and asparagus. It was cooked perfectly and was delicious. Especially the lobster and kale, those were fantastic. The ambiance was great, I loved the fact that it was like a retrofitted old-fashioned house. We walked in without reservation and found a table promptly despite being busy. The staff were very accommodating and friendly.

This was a delightful meal. Fried green tomatoes were perfectly prepared. Crab cakes were tastey with very little filler. You can lightly taste red peppers, so consider that when ordering. Scallops and shrimp stuffed with crab were both exquisite. Moist and tender. Generous portions. Bread pudding was lovely as was the peach cobbler. Service was very good. Ask to sit on the porch when making reservations as it fills up fast. It is enclosed with a river view which is very nice. Will come here again.

Perfect perfect perfect! This night started out as such a disappointment with us having reservation at HH Prime that was terrible. We made reservations over a week ago and after they confirmed twice that we would be there they never told us about the limited menu nor does it say it anywhere on there site. But thankfully we found Alexander’s and our server Donna was excellent and saved our Valentines. She is very special and you can tell she takes pride in what she does. Ask for her when you visit. You will thank me that you did.

So to start i love how this restaurant looks it walks the like between classy and casual and it does it well there is this beautify wooden kayak on the roof that I just found myself staring at it and the gorgeous bikes. Appetizers: Yuck. We ordered two soups both cream based one was a smoked salmon and the other she crab soup. This was the worst she crab soup I had on the island. It almost tasted like there might have been a wine reduction in it or someone thing Im not sure it just wasn’t good. I love smoked salmon so I was really excited for the smoked salmon soup but it wasn’t executed well. The flavors just didn’t blend and it was way to salmony(not a word). Also I ordered the oysters Savannah and this was the first time I had it so this might be how they are supposed to be prepared but they were too rich. To much cheese i couldn’t taste the oyster it was more like a cheese blob. Dinner: Dinner however was amazing. the boyfriend got the crab cakes and they are HUGE. They also don’t use a bunch of bread crumbs so the crab is front and center. I love crab but normally don’t like crab cakes because of the bread crumbs but these I found delicious. I ordered the stuff shrimp which was stuffed with a crab mis and this was amazing. It was cooked so well. I loved all there sides as well. I just wished I would have skipped the appetizers and went straight for eh entrée. They definitely would have gotten another star if I had.

The dining areas & bar need a facelift because they are tired and outdated. I didn’t eat because I was just waiting at the bar to meet a friend, but the food smelled great. The speaker system in the bar was dreadful, going in and out, or I would have stayed and grabbed some food there.

On the honeymoon. Went here not knowing what to expect. My wife had been here several times before. She raved about the seafood: problem is I don’t like seafood. So when I went in I was happy to see schnitzel on the menu. First of all the spinach salad was AMAZING! I would definitely recommend that. The wife and I split one but I could have gone for a full one by myself. The bread was ok but the whipped butter was pretty dope. So no big deal. The schnitzel came out and the sauce on it was amazing. Wish I had asked for more of it. Definitely one of the best schnitzels I have had. The string beans were amazing too. Came with fries and usually the fries at a nice place are pretty disappointing but I actually really loved the fries. The wife seemed pleased with her choice of Mahi. So all is good. The service was excellent. Our waiter got to us quickly and kept everything topped off. I would say that the restaurant itself looked a tad dated. Time for a renovation. But all in all I was very pleased. I recommend.

We had a very nice dinner at Alexander’s. We started off with the bacon wrapped shrimp, which was very good. I had the Chilean Sea Bass and my wife had the crab cakes. Both were excellent. We had a very nice table overlooking the lagoon and our waiter did a nice job.

Alexandre’s is located right in the heart of Palmetto Dunes near the tennis courts. It has a great location overlooking the lagoon, and the the antique motorcycles are an interesting feature. The service was very good throughout the meal. Its just too bad the meal itself wasn’t better. I went for the fried green tomato appetizer, and was not impressed. To add to that, sweet tea is not available. What restaurant in the south doesn’t serve sweet tea? For the main course I decided to try the schnitzel. The schnitzel itself was ok, but it was laid on a bed of the fries– so nay fries under the schnitzel got very soggy very quickly. It just wasn’t that impressive a meal overall.

This was out first meal in Hilton Head and it did not disappoint! The vibe is very homey and comfortable. We sat out on he enclosed porch which had a beautiful view of the creek. We shared the salmon appetizer, which was served with little hash browns, capers and cream. The potatoes really added a lot of great flavor to compliment the lox. It was so good we ordered a second round! I ordered the grouper for my main — it was served with lump crab on top and caramelized onions with mashed potatoes. It was a vey tasty dish. My lady ordered the Chilean Sea bass, which had potatoes au gratin on the side. The fish was very flavorful and buttery! For dessert we had the peanut butter pie and the chocolate mousse. Both were decadent and delicious. Overall great restaurant.
