History

Established in 1998.

It was a cold day in Erie, Pennsylvania, and a young frog sat sullen on the icy waters of Lake Erie. Frosty, as he was known to his tadpole toddler buddies, longed for a warmer world. With a heavy heart, he wished his frogs, friends and family a chilly farewell and set out for sunnier days.

Frosty’s first hop landed him in Charlotte, North Carolina where he warmed his little webbed world with a smile, lasting friendships and a brown dog. Frosty became well-​known in the Queen City as the Blender of the Best Frozen Drinks ever! He found passion in life! Creating cocktails and dreaming up concoctions to satisfy his friends and patrons was just the thing to keep Frosty busy! Still, Frosty wasn’t really happy. He wanted the water! So with bated breath and a few icile tears, brushed off his warted fears and skated South once again to Hilton Head, South Carolina.

With the help of friends and a little bit of luck from «The Frog Gods», Frosty was able to bring to Hilton Head a taste of Frosty

Popular place to go. Specialty is daiquiri drinks, but they have expanded their menu and seating area to appeal to families.
I like their burger, fish tacos, and peel-​and-​eat shrimp.
We go about once a year and usually walk away disappointed. They have live music outside, but it is so loud that you can’t sit outside and have a conversation. I wish it was quieter background music.
Also, Frosty roams the restaurant and wants to give you a fist bump every 10 minutes… It gets annoying.

One of the signs on the wall of Frosty Frog says, «Relax. Enjoy. Be Happy,» and that pretty much sums up Frosty Frog. From the groovy frog-​with-​a-​Santa-​hat logo to the live music outside, Frosty Frog is a more economical and laid back alternative to some of the pricey seafood restaurants with which Frosty Frog competes in the competition to profit off of vacationers. A wide variety of food is served, from fried frog legs to pizza to burgers to daiquiris. The staff I encountered was extremely friendly, and my server Addi was an outstanding and outgoing server, especially when you take into account the fact that she has only been working in the restaurant industry for less than a month. With its beachy décor and location in the Coligny Shopping Center right by the beach, Frosty Frog is, I’d say, a great example of the textbook definition of «tourist trap,» but in a popular getaway destination like Hilton Head Island where you’re bound to find yourself caught in a few tourist traps during your visit, Frosty Frog is definitely a tourist trap you’d like to fall into.

Hands down the best Burger on the island… get the big burger… it is awesome, fries great, bar is good and TV’s everywhere for sports bar effect. Flip flops and bathing suits welcome. Service is outstanding. Again, the BURGER!!!

The absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced! There was a mistake with my drink and when I asked to have it replaced the manager came out and chastised me before adding at the end they would replace the drink. Totally unnecessary response to an otherwise easily solvable situation. My family travels here regularly and we will never be coming to frosty frog ever again.

Hadn’t been to this local favorite in awhile but was in the mood for a big burger, and they patty a 20-​ouncer, so decided to give it a whirl. Bad mistake.
Where to start, but an unfortunately sad experience.
And why? Why did my burger absolutely suck? The same reason 90% of restaurant hamburgers suck … the staff is cooking them to please their corporate attorney, not the customers. That means searing that mother until the point the outside is black for the first quarter inch, and then hard as shoe leather tough grey matter through and through. Never mind that I ordered it medium rare — I’ll take it the way they like it, and, well, like it. Noticing I hadn’t eaten more than a few bites when she went to clear the plates, the waitress offered to get me another (didn’t have the time at that point) but no matter. I know the outcome would have been the same as the poor kid cooking in back would be «under orders» to cook it well done — such a shame for a big hand pattied burger. To add injury to insult, my wife’s mani sandwich equally as dry and the bun fell off around her sandwich when she picked it up — nice.
I guess if you’re only cultivating the 1-​week and done crowd you can pull this off — as a local i’ll know better next time.

Got the grouper tacos, my friend got a calzone with banana peppers and pepperoni. SO DELICIOUS. I also got the Superfrog frosty and she got the Incredible Hulk, both of which were amazing. Great waiter, great place.

My husband and I dined late on a weeknight and were not left disappointed. Our server was extremely friendly and helpful. We went with pizza which was thick as far as the dough goes but tasty to say the least, could have had more cheese. The drinks were what won us over. It was like being in Vegas with a crafty styrofoam cup. The ambience and décor were fun and family friendly too. The food here seems to be an afterthought. My grouper tacos were awful. The fish was not fresh and the whole dish did not work at all. It seems the big draw is frozen daiquiris. I wish I had just gotten one of those and skipped the meal.

I’m being nice because the waitress was a great lady but this place was nasty! Calamari was over cooked, chewy as a tire! Pizza sauce was mmhh over the counter sugary garbage. The salad was mainly lettuce heart, bitter and watery. I got the tuna sandwich and it was nothing to brag about. They skimp on the tuna, at first I thought they forgot to put it on my sandwich. It was sweet, like they used a fake mayo or something and just bland in general, just like the salsa. My fried for a crab cake sandwich and it was pretty nasty too. Over drained with what seemed to be the French fry seasoning. Then some weird sauce made of 1000island dressing. No good. Fries and margaritas were good. Service was slow but not because of the waitresses. This menu is a mess, Asian, American, southern food, seafood, it’s a cluster. And the left overs smelled terrible, like vomit. Threw it away.

Service sucked. The service staff fought over who was taking me because I was a single diner. Finally someone relented and served me. I ordered s single slice of pizza w extra cheese. I am pretty sure the sauce was Ragu or some other bottled sauce. I ate maybe three bites. The kicker was, I couldn’t find my server to get a check. One of the servers thought it would be fun to play 20 questions. «Was she tall or short, brown or blond hair… This went on they no less then 5 more questions, I walked away and found my server myself. Paid my bill, leaving her a 50% tip because I don’t roll that way.

First time to Hilton Head. Thoroughly enjoying thus far! The Frosty Frog has a great vacation feel! The patio is pretty large. Our server was very friendly and quick paced. The weather was perfect and the frozen daiquiris were by far the best frozen daiquiris I have ever had. The wings were definitely better here than where we had dinner last night, but the pizza was even better! Reminded me of a Zombie Bobs pizza food truck in Charleston. Will be back!

I love the atmosphere here! It’s like being on the beach when you’re not. From what our friends told us they had expanded and added an outside area that has sand, a fountain, a bar and even a fire pit for nights like this past week when we were there. The daiquiri’s were great, banana cream pie being my favorite! I also had the chick salad wrap and the ‘baked’ potato salad, the salad was some of the best I’ve had, wrap was good but had an a herb in it that caused it to be a little mysterious. I will be definitely be back when visiting HH!

Meh. It’s basically always Spring Break at the Frosty Frog. And, if that’s what you’re going for, you have found it. The atmosphere makes you think a wet t-​shirt contest might break out at any moment.
It’s all about those frosty cocktails. You choose your poison in that with many of the drinks, you can pick the proof of your alcohol. I stuck to the middle of the road, assuming that the high octane booze would pretty much decide the rest of my day.
Food is hit or miss. I think it’s really a drinks and apps kind of place. We got the chips and salsa and it was awesome. Thin, salty chips (made in-​house?) and awesome roasted salsa.
There were three of us eating. Two of us decided to go for pizza, which I recommend you NOT do here. It was reminiscent of a take and bake pizza from Walmart. My sister got a salad, which was a basic bowl of iceberg topped with a couple of tomato slices and some fried chicken strips. It was fine, but really nothing special.
I’d be back for a frozen drink (available by the gallon, by the way), but I wouldn’t eat here again.

This is a great place to enjoy frozen daiquiris inside Coligny Plaza while shopping! I will warn you, as do they, the drinks are STRONG! And I mean, some are made with grain liquor that’s 151 – 190 proof so they will sneak up on you… However, delicious! The food is okay, but not their strongest point. It’s a very casual place to relax and have fun! Brightly painted walls and TVs to watch sports too! Afterwards, always head outside to take your own photo op! They tend to be better after a couple daiquiris! They also have a gift shop for souvenirs, but they let you take your drink with you to walk around the plaza which is awesome considering its hot and at the beach!

My first impression of this place other than total tourist trap and generic beach daiquiri bar was not good. My local friends took us here swearing the food is awesome. I stood at the bar for 17 minutes with out being even looked at, even though people came and went served right next to me. What am I invisible? ?
I finally gave up and went to wait outside with my friends. When we got our table it took FOREVER to even get a drink. I was able to sample 2 of there frozen daiquiri drinks, which both tasted like cough syrup.gross. pass.
My husband ordered a crab sandwich which he fell in love with, my friend ordered an amazing rib eye sandwich and I had a blt. The only good things about my blt was the B. All 3 little pieces. I felt ripped off.
Service was awful. This dining experience took over 2 hours. This is not a 5 star sit and enjoy your food place. This is an eat and get your drink and go to the beach type of place.
Will not be back. Primarily due to service all around.
