Omni Hilton Head Oceanfront Resort

We absolutely love this resort. We’ve stayed here the last 2 years when we come into town a day or 2 early, before our rental house is available. The staff is always amazing, and the rooms and grounds are very clean and well kept. We will definitely continue to return.

I hate to give this spot such a low rating (I’m notoriously generous) but it was just lacking for a 4-​Star resort.
Don’t get me wrong. I enjoyed the pools, the beverages and the friendly service of the staff; however, my love for this place stops there. We brought our dog with us and everyone we came in contact with loved her! House-​keeping brought her bowls and extra towels… so nice!
We arrived pretty late — way past check-​in (like 3 AM) and I was impressed by the night staff upon first arriving. I was hopeful that our stay would be completely awesome.
We paid extra for a «room with a view» (beach view to be exact) and king bed; we received neither. Instead, we were booked to a room with a kitchenette and two FULL size beds. I adjusted to the distant «beach view» so I didn’t feel right complaining too much. One thing I couldn’t look past was the bed situation. I’m sorry… I’m an adult; I haven’t slept in a full size bed since high school.
Since this 4-​Star resort is beachfront I was expecting chairs and umbrellas to be set up on the beach like most resorts I’ve booked… but no go. The resort has chairs and umbrellas for you to rent… that you haul down there, set up, and bring back yourself. With a 3 year old who’s arms are obviously broken — because why else would she not be able to carry any of her sand pails or toys down to the beach?! (not literally-​note extreme sarcasm on the broken limbs bit), a dog who’s better behaved than the man and the child combined but still can’t help carry beach essentials because of her lacking opposable thumbs, and a mom who carries everything… an umbrella and chair already set up would have been literally the most satisfying thing to see. Ever. But alas, that’s not possible for The Omni. Luckily beach patrol runs this great gig of setting up umbrellas and chairs! Nice! $ 20-​$ 25 for 4 hours… oh, okay. Can I roll my eyes, yet?
To top it off when we tried to settle the room matter and bill and such with The Omni the MOD for the evening was truly the most awful woman I’ve ever dealt with. I expected her type of attitude at a Comfort Inn or whatever but definitely not at The Omni. I was pretty shocked that I just walked away.
Maybe my expectations were just too high?
Upon check-​out, everyone was extremely apologetic about the whole mess but we decided to finish out our vacation at a different resort.

There’s a lot to say about this place so I’m going to hit the highlights.
Check in was a breeze we arrived on a Wednesday morning and were greeted by a guest services member with a smile and was quick to get us checked in and on our way.
The staff is very friendly, helpful, and courteous. There wasn’t one time I passed a member of the staff and they didn’t greet me or tell me to enjoy my day.
The rooms have all been updated. They have king beds, desk, large sofa with a chaise lounger at the end. I found the beds to be a little soft and the pillows a little small but still adequate. The kitchen area is nice. It has a microwave, fridge, and sink but is well equipped with additional utensils you may need, even a wine opener.
The bathroom was split with a sink in one area then through the door was the tub, toilet, and another sink. The bathroom was well stocked with towels, shampoos, and lotions.
Once settled we journeyed out to explore the grounds. All of the buildings walls are covered with a rough stucco don’t lean up against it while walking I found it to be a little rough.
Once guy get outside you’re in view of three pools, two family pools and one adult pool, all three are well maintained. Towels were not available at the pools but at a small beach shack at the far end of the pool area. A long walk but hey, I was on vacation and didn’t mind.
My only complaint: You have to hang a sign on your door to have your room cleaned. It’s a little backwards from most places but once our sign was hung our room was cleaned in no time.
Adjacent to the pools is a fabulous rec area consisting of two nightly fire pits, ping pong table, corn hole toss, and a giant chess/​checkers board. All of this surrounded by well maintained grounds.
The beach is a 2 minute walk from the pool area. Be sure to grab your towels and anything else you may need from the beach shack on your way by. They are very helpful. They offer beach chairs and umbrellas but you have to haul them to the beach yourself, not interested, again, I was on vacation. The sweet girl behind the counter informed us that the beach patrol offers chairs and umbrellas as well so we purchased our $ 15 bottle of sunscreen, I forgot ours at home, grabbed our towels and headed for some fun in the sun.
The beach patrol (under the red umbrella) pointed us to two available chairs for just a few dollars more than the hotel was charging. Well worth it.
The beach is well maintained and didn’t seem to be exceptionally crowded.
We also visited the small food store they had and grabbed a coconut macaroon and a peanut butter cookie, reasonably priced and quite tasty.
Bikes are for rent at the beach shack as well. $ 25 for the entire day. Well worth the money to enjoy the numerous trails on HHI.
Look forward to visiting this resort again there is definitely something to do for everyone. If you can’t find something you enjoy then you probably should have stayed home.

Can’t say enough good things about this resort. My sister and her kids were visiting from WI and we drove from Atlanta for one night to celebrate my nephews 12^th birthday and so my 9 year old niece could see the ocean for the first time. The service was amazing. There were towels shaped like a three tier cake when we got to the room. Everyone was impressed especially the kids. As soon as we got there we all went swimming and walked out to the ocean. When we got back there was a s’mores kit present for my nephew. It was so awesome to see their excitement! Before bed they even brought them milk and cookies. My sister and I were extremely impressed. Anyone looking for a relaxing family vacation should stay at Omni Hilton Head Oceanfront Resort. They offer bikes to rent too, which I would recommended. We biked down the ocean and it was awesome. I imagine I’ll be returning with my brother and his family.
Family friendly place. Beds were comfy. The fridge and kitchenette was nice to have. Clean. Nice Balcony.

Upon arrival we also received a gift backpack for the children we had with us. It contained small coloring book, crayons, and a juice cup. The kids loved it. Our room was an ocean view king bed suite. Separate room from the living room. Small kitchenette no stove. Microwave, coffee maker, toaster, kitchen sink, small fridge and 2 complimentary bottles of water included in the fridge upon arrival as well. This was everything we needed.
The bathroom has a shower and you also have a sink area right outside the bathroom so if someone is in the restroom you can still do your hair or brush your teeth.
We stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed our stay very much. The sofa bed was comfortable as well. We had a patio for the living room area and a separate patio for the large king bedroom

Maybe I got lucky, but for the price I was expecting a lot less. It is a beautiful Oceanside resort, centrally located on the island. It has all the amenities you need to have a great stay on Hilton Head. Multiple pools, a pool bar, multiple restaurants to choose from. The staff was extremely friendly — always a good morning or afternoon and offered help if needed. I would back come again. A perfect resort for families.

We had a wedding here and it was amazing Alison the wedding coordinator is amazing :) her team was Awesome! They delivered on organization customer service and quality. The shorehouse is gorgeous

We had the pleasure of staying in the Omni Hilton Head Oceanfront Resort in a 1 bedroom Suite with Ocean Views! It was awesome. Service was fantastic from start to finish, multiple restaurants, spa, 3 pools, walk to the ocean, etc. The food was great, too! Peet’s coffee was served along with specialty blends (lattes cappuccinos, etc) which made it even better! Everyone was so friendly. Our 4 year old daughter took a liking to Mary, who worked in the main restaurant during breakfast. The hotel staff even took the time to remember the kids’ names which tickled them to no end. Our daughter gave Mary a hug when we were checking out. We will definitely stay at the Omni on our next trip to Hilton Head Island!

Really impressed with the hospitality and service. We had a ocean front suite and it is beautiful. The views are gorgeous, parking is ample and easy to access.
Wonderful atmosphere and we will be back!

We stayed for 2 nights. The hotel is very nice. The room was big, clean with an ocean view. Everyone was very friendly. A walk on the beach was very enjoyable and relaxing. You can find a bunch of sand dollars walking along the shore.
The hotel has a total of 3 pools which were really nice and one is heated. We ordered room service and they were very quick arriving within 20 minutes.
The gym was nice to use it was spacious and has towels and refreshments. Their restaurant and bar are enjoyable and refreshing. Overall this hotel stay was amazing and relaxing. There were no issues with noisy guests and the staff was friendly.

The worst experience ever
I made reservation for me and my husband for New Year EVE, it took us 11 hours drive from New York to get there and guess what, when we came to check in they told us that our reservation was cancelled and they are totally booked and nothing they can do
and this happened on New Year Eve!!!
every normal hotel around the area was booked, we were so angry but they seemed don’t care at all, no phone call for cancellation, nothing, how can you treat people like this?

eventually we landed in only 1 hotel who took us, but it was around 11pm, what a nice new year experience
SO unprofessional!!!

The hotel has nice rooms, allows dogs, nice sports bar and live music. A definitely nice getaway spot. Close to bars, shops and restaurants. I just wish I could have experienced the spa. Next time!!!

Good resort with great staff! We were there for a convention and enjoyed the large room with balcony and sports bar. Didn’t try the restaurant but banquet food was good (what you’d expect) and service was great! Pools and spas were lovely and could walk to ocean… You do have to pay to rent bikes which is kind of a bummer but still So lovely and worth it. Room service also good (omelet, bacon, coffee, tea, eggs) s’mores kits in the gift shop for campfire pits! Very cool!

This resort has everything. The rooms are large and fully equipped with a microwave, refrigerator and sink. There are a couple of restaurants, a snack shop and it is right on the beach. If you pick up a few groceries on the way in, there is no reason to leave the resort. You certainly won’t find anything better if you leave. During the day, there are 3 pools to choose from and the pool bar serves great frozen drinks. You can walk the beach and watch the sun rise. At night, there are a couple of fire pits where you can relax before bed. And, speaking of beds, The beds are very comfortable.
The only down side is that the property is starting to age and will need some updating in the next few years.

We stayed at Omni on a Sunday to a Tuesday and absolutely loved it. Rooms were modern, with honestly the comfiest beds I’ve ever slept in. Grounds were beautiful. Staff was kind and helpful.
Noise factor wasn’t bad. Considering we saw dozens of families and loads of little kids, it wasn’t noticeable from inside the room. There were three different pools and the beach, giving plenty of space for everyone to coexist happily.
Rooms had functional mini kitchens and with Kroger and Whole Foods nearby, we made a lot of sandwiches and snacks and were able to save a lot of money that way.
There’s a little store in the hotel, but it’s expensive. Good for little things though. Definitely stock up on some s’more supplies, there are a few fire pits around the grounds that are perfect for s’mores :)
Get the key lime piña colada at the bar. Absolutely delicious.
Overall, beautiful resort and we really enjoyed ourselves. We’ll definitely be back!

My family and I stayed here for a week just after the 4^th of July weekend. Originally had booked the week in Myrtle Beach resort called The Breakers; what a mistake that certainly was. Stayed there for the night and checked out before dawn the next morning.
On to bigger and much better things at the Omni: From the minute we pulled up to the covered check-​in and valet area I was thoroughly impressed. The customer service from the bellman to the housekeepers; to the pool staff and the poolside bar servers was absolutely STELLAR!
Our room although having a parking lot view on the balcony was immaculately clean to as comfortable as it gets. The size of the two queen bed room was more than adequate for my party of three, the bathroom had all the creature comforts you need and the kitchenette was more than useful to warm snacks and keep your drinks cold.
The resort has three pools: two family and one adult. The family pools were clean, water was always crystal clear and lots of patio lounge chairs to accomodate the guests. The drinks at the poolside bar called the Buoy Bar were overpriced and weak but that is to be more than expected at this type of venue. However, the food at the Buoy Bar was better than expected although also pricey. No complaints though as the resort as a whole was very nice and comfortable.
Beach access from the pool area was close by and a small walk to actually reach the sand.
The island of Hilton Head SC where the resort is located is a beautiful, quiet, sleepy beachside town with many restaurants and a couple of miniature golf parks for all to enjoy. I can’t wait to go back and especially to recommend this island and resort to my friends and family.

The Omni Oceanfront Resort was the most amazing hotel I’ve ever stayed in. With happy hard working employees and clean hotel rooms and resort-​I would stay here again in a heart beat! The beach is less than 200m from the resort and they have 3 pools! They have a restaurant, bar, kids center, and a stand with all things for the beach such as floaties, rafts, sunscreen, and even snow cones! All of these things are located near the pool. They also have bike rentals and hourly pool games! The rooms are always clean from the helpful hard working housekeeping. They supply essentials for the room and not to mention air conditioner which is a must in hot summer days! This resort is kid friendly and has something for everybody! 10 out of 10 and 5 out 5 stars absolutely phenomenal!!!

This was an absolutely beautiful Omni property — the rooms were really well put together and very clearly have just been renovated. We had a King Suite which featured a mini-​kitchen area — inclusive of mini fridge, sink, high top table and barstools. We stopped by the Hilton Head Island Whole Foods store just down the road prior to coming into the resort, so we had a loaded mini fridge packed with salsa, guac, snacks, drinks, etc. It was super handy as the resort prices on simple things like snacks are priced as one would expect ($$$$).
The week we visited was a couple days just after the tropical storm at the beginning of the 2015 Summer Season, so the beach was washed away — no shells, nothing fun to scour for in the morning. Also, quite a few of the Cannonball Jellyfish were washing up on shore — not big time stingers, but never fun to brush up on in the ocean. There were a few people on the beach, but by no means was it crowded. Helps that Omni has its own private property…
We loved the pools — the adults pool was really not so much for adults but for retired folks… My boyfriend and I didn’t even feel comfortable over there and we’re over 30. The sloped zero entry pool was more our jam. And closer to the Buoy Bar. Poolside service was a challenge — either the servers were really on top of their game or they weren’t.

The property and rooms are lovely, and the service was excellent (for the most part, which I will explain). But first the positive: the hotel has a great pool area with a pretty beach that isn’t overcrowded at all. The rooms are nice and they have a little kitchenette that looks modern. You’d better be prepared to use that kitchenette though, because the weak link in the hotel is food service.
During our visit, the poolside service was asleep at the wheel; the poolside restaurant was bar food with slow service (and my cheeseburger still had the wax paper left on the cheese — whoops); the frou frou sandwich/​coffee shop inside took over 20 minutes to get a sandwich to me (and there was only one other person in front of me in line); and the bartenders at the interior bar seemed like they had better things to do than immediately stopping their conversation and taking our order.
The housekeeping staff was excellent, and everyone was super friendly. And again, the rooms, beach, and facilities were excellent. That’s why we will probably go back, but we won’t even bother with the food.
