Yes, they have a great variety of Benedicts and a number of nice features. A lot of things reduce the rating — margarine instead of butter, bad tasting half-and-half in little containers and marginal service. We went here because we had a coupon. We would not go back.

A reasonable breakfast location on the island. Short wait for table. They were very busy but service was right on. They open early for those wanting to hit the links early. We went at 10:00 and the place was busy. Fortunately the restaurant next door was not open at the time otherwise parking may have been a issue. There were 3 of eating this day. One ordered the Plantation platter, one order the blueberry pancakes with scrabbled eggs and I ordered the waffle. Was not clear on the menu that the waffle was all you got. I thought that it came with bacon. Will know next time to special order. Waffle was fair. I will probably ordered the blueberry pancakes next time. I tried my sister-in-laws order and they were delicious. Worth a try when on the island.

Great place for breakfast! I had the country breakfast, breaded steak, gravy on the side, hash browns, eggs and coffee of course. The hash browns, yummy! The steak, yummy! But remember this is a breakfast steak, not a t bone.;) The waitress was great as well as the service! Claudia= sweet and great service

We’ve been coming to Plantation Café for over 10 years now. We prefer the location on Pope Avenue near Coligny Plaza. We’ve never been to the location on the North End. We did eat at the location just off the island that recently closed. It was mid morning when we got there and the place was pretty empty. Our waitress was Carla. She came right over and poured out coffee. My wife got the French toast. I got the True Country Breakfast. Each was hot and delicious. Carla made sure our coffee cups were always full. There might be fancier places to eat breakfast on Hilton Head Island but Plantation Café is by far my favorite place even after all these years.

I am from NJ and I am very familiar with«NY style bagels». I ordered a bagel with cream cheese and I received a prepackaged toasted bagel and… no cream cheese.

It’s good, solid breakfast food. We usually eat here at least once on vacation. They are good about accommodating larger groups. It’s your standard fare with some southern favorites. My kid plowed through his pancake and bacon. My sister loves their biscuits and gravy.

My service was fine. Coffee was refilled twice… waitress was prompt. The food fell a little short. Eggs Benedict was«meh». Tasted like canned Hollandaise sauce… and hash browns were soft — almost undercooked. It wasn’t a bad meal — but not great either. I gave it an extra star for the service

We have been here for breakfast 3 times this trip. The wife has had the Eggs Benedict and other menu options. My Daughter has had the French Toast and the Belgian Waffles. She loved her French Toast while here Belgian Waffle was a little over cooked. The coffee is really good and so is the wait staff. If you are looking for a good breakfast place you should give this a try.

What a waste of time! 45 minutes later and food was gross and bland. Fried green tomatoes were fried red tomatoes. Looked good but when I cut into them they were a watery mushy mess. Only good thing was the mimosa.

I just called this place to see if they were open because it was a holiday. No more did I get to say«I was just checking to see if you were open» and the girl who answered the phone said«yes» and hung up the phone! I will not try this place if someone is that rude on the phone!

We were drawn in by the menu out side of the door. It listed French toast. There were 2 in our party excited about the breakfast. However we found they serve breakfast all day. But only some of the breakfast menu. Not all of it. There was not an obvious indication of the breakfast menu not being served for all day, as part of breakfast is. The décor is very dark and old. Feels dirty, may not have been. But just felt unkept. Food was ok. But meat on sandwich was a bit dry. Service was poor. They just weren’t very interested. And distracted. Breakfast may be good, but don’t go here for lunch. A bust!

I’ve dined here several times over the past seven years, maybe past 10 years? The food and the service in the past was always very good, if not excellent. This is typically one of the best breakfast places in the region. Just went to breakfast there twice this past week on a trip to The Head. First visit: Our server was bussing tables, seating people, and taking orders with another server. It was a slower process than it could be, but the service was good other than that, and the food was outstanding. The server always communicated with us and let us know our food was on the way or it was going to take some time… which was totally fine. Second visit: Pretty much a disaster. Place was full, there were four servers working which should be more than sufficient for this volume. The problem was there was no organization on the floor. This place needs a designated host/busser for the busy rushes. We were prepared to wait for our food. What we weren’t prepared for was having both of our kids orders never arrive, which were just pancakes, and the server explain that the kitchen was overwhelmed in pancake orders. Our server apologized a couple times and blamed the kitchen, but he was mostly MIA. He might’ve been new, but he was clearly avoiding us and threw the kitchen under the bus several times. My kids were sitting there while we tried to eat, and I had to cancel their orders and run them to McDonalds. Part of my wife’s breakfast never arrived either when I received the check and I had to ask him if he could fix it. He came back saying he was sorry, «he tried, but it didn’t work.» Dude, go to the manager and explain the situation. Get organized. If you make a mistake no worries –face your mistakes. Don’t blame anyone else no matter whose fault it is –your customers don’t want to hear that. Fix it and move on. So bottom line of this longwinded review: This is a great diner that is in jeopardy of losing me as a customer. It’s an easy fix. Get the floor organized. Maybe they don’t care because they are always packed and no one is ever in a rush and more power to them. But it could be so much better with a host/bus.

Was in desperate need of breakfast in the area. Almost didn’t find this place because it’s not tagged as a breakfast place. But they have good diner-style eggs, pancakes etc. Nice service.

Breakfast at Plantation was fine but nothing special. The veggie omelette was good with the veggies still nice and crisp. The pancakes were not that fluffy nor tender. Taste was fine. Grits, average at best. Service was friendly and efficient, and prices fair. This is a good place to go if you are looking for a decent breakfast. You won’t be thrilled, but you won’t leave dissapointed.

We found this place through Unilocal, thanks, Unilocalers! Because it’s not very easy to find open restaurants in the winter on Hilton Head Island before 5pm. And when you’re on vacation, you need breakfast and lunch! The food was great, except for the she crab soup. My mom said it tasted like it was fresh at some point but not today, and it was only lukewarm, but to be fair, nobody else even had it because it’s not in season. Service was good and the atmosphere was dated, but quaint.

Breakfast here very good. Also inexpensive for this island. Some interesting specialty breakfast items as well as great standard breakfast fare. Will definitely be back

Had breakfast here for the first time. Quaint place with large menu. One child got the waffle and one got the french toast. The half order of french toast is 3 large pieces… don’t feel the need for a full order! Both were tasty. I had the crab cake benedict. Sounded interesting and I was pleasantly surprised how good it was. Hashbrowns have a seasoning, but it was a good thing. The sausage gravy biscuits were gobbled up by my husband but my one bite was good… wish I could have had more. Service was good. She was busy but she came by enough. We would come back again to try more on the menu. Good breakfast spot.

This place was busy on a Saturday morning. We were in search of solid, «home cooked» breakfast fare and found it: Eggs, biscuits, and something called«Jay’s Favorite.» Jay’s Favorite is a three-egg omelette made with sausage, red onions, Granny Smith apples and cheddar cheese. Except the apples we found in our omelette were not Granny Smiths. This omelette was good, but it seemed uninspired. And my egg biscuits were good, solid fare. If we ever go here again, we’ll have to try something like Mitzi’s Green Chile Cheese Puff. Or maybe one of the Benedicts. Service was friendly if not a bit harried on that busy Saturday morning. But these folks still got our breakfast to us in good time. Walking distance from the beach(and our hotel) makes this a place I’d willingly visit again for some home cooked breakfast.
