Tommy’s Moving

My two roommates and I made the move from Lyndhurst to Hoboken on Sunday, ¹⁄₃₁. We had Angel, Randy, Jason, and John (Johnny the Hammer). These guys were great. They showed up and got right to work. We were heading towards Hoboken around 10:15. The guys were very good about asking questions and making sure we comfortable with everything. Oh, and did I mention these guys moved our furniture down two flights of stairs and then up to our 4-​story walk-​up? Don’t know what we would have done without them! The whole job was finished in 5 hours which was about 1 – 2 hours less than the original estimate. Awesome. These guys are easy to get along with and are honest and up front with you. No BS. Would definitely recommend this company to friends in the area.

Very quick and easy move. Even though they’re hourly, they finished in two hours, saving me money. They were cheaper than the flat rate guys. They were also courteous and careful. I would highly recommend Tommy’s Moving.

Used these guys a couple months ago to move from Hoboken to Jersey City. They priced and staffed the job appropriately, showed up on time and finished when they said they would. I’d highly recommend.

I’ve used Tommy’s to move 4 times in Hoboken, and every time has been excellent. The crew is always on time, very professional and take very good care of your stuff. They’ve also almost always come in quicker than the time they estimate.
I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Beyond excellent! Came on time, were very polite and scoped out their plan before starting. I had a 3 bed room apartment that we were moving to a house 40 minutes away. We were estimated 8 hours but finished in 6 (because they were non-​stop working). They’re very efficient, so don’t worry about their hourly rate.
My apartment was on the third floor, and I had a VERY heavy piece. And they made it seem too easy. Chris and the crew made a very difficult day MUCH easier. I would highly recommend them to anyone moving. They wrapped everything, Nothing was damaged. My house had a fresh coat of paint, so I inspected the whole house before they left and couldn’t find a scratch.

Best move I have had to date! Chris, Gary, Lucius and Wip were fast, efficient, and very professional. They set up everything that we asked for. They were very friendly.

i really can’t say enough good things about Tommy’s. We had 4 guys for our move, and they were friendly, professional and extremely hard workers. They took care of our stuff, worked quickly, and went above and beyond when it came to getting our couch up the stairs in our new apt. We moved into a 2 floor condo and our couch was not getting down the hall easily or up the stairs. These guys got creative and got it up and in the living without any damage to it. While we were moving my new next door neighbor told me how her couch got stuck in her stairs and it had to be cut into pieces to get it unstuck. She should have hired Tommy’s :)

There’s a reason why Tommy’s has 5 stars. I moved in the rain from a suburb to Hoboken. Despite traffic, Chris, Gary, and Luc had the move completed in 2.5 hours start to finish. They were quick and professional. Highly recommend them!

Absolutely no complaints with the guys they sent to help us move, Angel and another man. The third mover fell sick the day of our move, but the two movers were incredibly quick and professional and they only charged us for the 2-​man rate. From the first phone call to the last box they unpacked, Tommy’s Moving was as good as it gets. I highly recommend them to anyone moving into the Hoboken area! Great work and cheaper than most other moving companies.

As everyone knows, moving is the worst. However, with Tommy’s Moving, my move from Hoboken to Hackensack this past weekend could not have gone any smoother. The guys were prompt (10 mins early) and ready to go! They moved my furniture and TV with great care and ease, and I really could not have asked for anything better. The building I moved to isn’t the easiest to navigate (trucks can only be parked on the street) and they did not complain and were friendly the entire time. Next move, I am definitely calling Tommy’s!

Best moving company in the NYC/​Hoboken area.
I first used Tommy’s 3.5 years ago and they went above, beyond with my move. They moved my things from my Manhattan apartment into my Hoboken condo, and then went to South Jersey to pick up a few other things from my storage unit. This was an all day job with a lot of heavy pieces, and driving. The bill still came in at a very reasonable price.
I just used them again on 9÷26÷15 to move from Hoboken to South Jersey. They were early (not just on time), professional, and pleasant. The guys managed to get my large pieces: heavy Queen size bed, frame, four end tables, a coffee table (w/​glass top), a TV display stand (w/​glass top), and a mirrored (extremely heavy) dresser, two large TVs and all of my other miscellaneous items (i.e clothes, kitchenware, heavy bags, etc.) all out within ONE HOUR. My condo was at the top for a 4 story walk up. The entire move, including stops in Hoboken and two in SJ, were all completed before 1p. The SJ location took up 1.5 hours of that. Their work speaks for itself.
Chris was the point man on the job but all the guys were extremely efficient and helpful. I am very picky and type A, and I felt very secure with trusting these guys with my stuff.
I would HIGHLY recommend them for anyone looking to do a move within the area or even outside the area.
They are easy to work with, know what they are doing, and work quickly — which ultimately saves you money and time.

Hands down the best move I have ever had!!! From setting up the appointment to the entire move everything was amazing.
I had Carlos, Jason, Hammer, and Randy. They were all very professional and very friendly. Moving is usually very stressful and these guys made it as seamless as it could be. They were very careful with all of my fragile furniture and made sure my 65″ tv was well protected.
When we got to our new apartment, they set up our furniture wherever we wanted it.
I would recommend these guys to anyone I know that needs to move in NJ.

We had a small move from a storage unit to my midtown apartment. Tommy’s was quick to call me back and give me a quote over the phone. We had a three hour minimum at $ 138/​hr with four guys.
I wasn’t there the day of the move but my manfriend said that everything went smoothly and quickly. They finished well within the 3 hour minimum. This was a much better experience than my last moving debacle. Would definitely use these guys again!

Moving is incredibly stressful, and these guys made it easy for me.
Before I decided to go with them, I had several quotes and people telling me how everything had to be done. They told me that things needed to be packed in a certain way and that would cost more (also, most of the places wanted to charge me an extra hour of travel, even though we were both based out of Hoboken. These guys called me when they left and I only paid from that time). Tommy gave me a fair price, and kept to his word about the fact that I was charge of the move.
The best way I can describe the move, would be having your good friends help you move. .. if they were great movers. These guys had a great time moving, which helped take some of the stress off of me. I even remembered all of their names — Carlos, Randy, Cody, Hammer (did not have the best jokes though) and Jason.
I would 100% recommend.

When moving my boyfriend’s stuff from NYC to Hoboken, Tommy’s really pulled through. Booking was a breeze and the guys are awesome. Carlos and crew (2 others, sorry forgot their names, not Tommy though lol) got it all done within a small time frame and the total was surprisingly lower than the estimate. Woop woop!
We would definitely use Tommy’s again and recommend him to anyone moving. It was smooth sailing throughout.

Not only the best movers in ‘boken, but the best movers in the state. These guys are fast, friendly, speak ENGLISH, and they don’t jerk you around for one second. The rate you’re quoted is «all-​in» — for real. No hidden fees for tape, packing, drive time, or any other bullshit 99% of moving companies try and pull. They show up, pack what needs to be packed, wrap what needs to be wrapped, move what needs to be moved, and that’s that.
Absolutely no hassles whatsoever.
They have a 3 hour minimum, but even if I was only needing an hour, I would use these guys before calling anyone else.
Moving is a very frustrating and time-​consuming experience and these guys make it as fast and easy as possible.
10 STARS.

Basically, they do a quick job and complete the whole thing from packing to unloading in one piece and on time. They know what they are doing. Really appreciate their work, make my moving day a lot easier. Really hope I can give a 5 star.
One star down is because the final price way more than the estimate. I admit we have a lot stuff and the final price is acceptable. But I’ll prefer a relatively precise estimate to make my decision. Otherwise what’s the point of estimate?
Second star down is the packing way is not clean enough as I expected. They did not even pack and protect leather sofa. Just move them to the truck and then to my new place. Though there was no damage, it did took me a lot more work to clean up everything.
I’ll still recommend them, but with a little concern.
